Stopped for some hometown BBQ, found a family and the best BBQ across the country!

MUST TRY! Even if you don’t usually like BBQ like me. I try all the best places across the country because my husband loves it. I don’t write reviews on them, but I had to write this.

We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, ribs, chicken, shrimp, slaw, and Mac n cheese. My favorite was the Shrimp with sauce and the slaw. Must eat how they cook it, don’t change anything when ordering or you will miss out.

Hookin Bull has the best BBQ on the Southside. The ribs are so tender and juicy, and they are full of flavor. The shrimp are mouthwatering. Everything on their menu is the bomb. You have been slipping if you haven’t tried it. The food is so fresh, and you won’t ever be dissatisfied. Customer service is awesome, and they are so friendly, and welcoming. The owners are down to earth, and you can tell that they put love into everything they touch. Please go and give them a try. You won’t regret it.

Found this place randomly on Google. I wasn't far so decided to try them. While reading the menu the gentleman behind the counter asked had I ever been there before and I said no. He told me to have a seat and he'd bring me some samples. My kind of party lol. He brought me a rib side of sauce, baked beans and Mac. Everything was good but that meat and beans had me. I ordered the rib combo with beans. The guy behind the counter is Dexter. Not sure if he's the owner or not but super friendly. My meal was $19. I'll definitely be back to try other items, when in the area. Also my 8 year took half my food and didn't waste a bite, so yeah its good.

People, do not sleep on thisrestaurant. The food is da Bomb. Best Best Best ribs in Georgia. Im from Chicago. I know all about great ribs and rib tips. This is the best BBQ in the whole Atlanta area. Thank you Hookin cause I'm hooked. 🔥🥰

Great service and great food!! We were looking for a good BBQ place to try and were blown away by everything we ordered (including the samples provided since it was our first time). Can’t forget the amazing hospitality too! Will definitely come back.

The food and the service is amazing every time I come. My husband and I were driving and saw this place, so we popped in and it did not disappoint! The customer service was great and they were so friendly. The food was even better. We got the ribs tips and shrimp combo and luckily we got there before they were all gone. We've gone back a few times since and every visit was a pleasant experience.

My wife and I have lived all over the Deep South, including Georgia, and this was by far the best BBQ we have ever had. And we are foodies…Yummmmyyyyyy! From the outside you would never guess the treasures that lie within. And a truly gracious chef. Small and spartan, eating there is like going to a friends house. Where do you find that these days, where many things seem to be owned by someone who has nothing to do with the eatery. We WILL be back.

It was my first time here and multiple people came in to order food while I was waiting. That's always a great sign in my book, the owner was very kind and let me know first time customers get 10% off! I'm definitely paying full price next time because the food was delicious!

Ask for Drake, he will take care of u. He gave us a tasting when I told him it was our first time visiting.

Fantastic experience! I catered food for a Halloween party, and it was perfect. Everything was excellent (pulled port, smoked chicken, Brunswick stew, Mac and Cheese, etc...)
Food was ready when they said it would be, good price for the quality and the excellence of the food. Customer service superb. I highly recommend this restaurant. Please support this fantastic small business, you will love it!

I went late and most everything was gone. But they had everything I wanted. Teaches me not to wait until the last minute to decide what I want to eat. They asked if it was our first time there and yes, it was. They fixed us a sample plate. The food was absolutely delicious. No joke. There was a customer there who been doing business with Hookin Bull for 16 years. I now am a true customer. This will be the only place I get bbq ribs, rib tops, pulled pork, pulled chicken, jumbo shrimp and desserts. Hookin Bull for Life!

This place has some of the best BBQ that I've had in Ga to date. The sides taste like mama made it and the customer service is excellent. I would recommend Hookin Bull because it has become one of my local favorites.

I love it. Nice environment. Owner is so nice he lets you try everything before you order. Great shrimp and pulled pork. Nice friendly neighborhood bbq.

Food was awesome and hot. The Mac and cheese was different and not my favorite but the rib tips and shrimp made up for any short comings. I will be back!

Okay first of all ... this place is amazing. The owner is amazing && I can honestly say I haven't gone to a place where they bring out samples of everything on the menu. It makes you feel like you're home in a very welcoming way. The food was sooooooooo good. Everything that was brought out to us was delicious!!! I eneded up getting the fried shrimp with Mac && cheese && baked beans ... y'all... I don't even eat baked beans lol. That's how good this place is!! I definitely recommend for anyone looking for amazing BBQ. BTW.... I had the buttermilk pie && almost fell OUT of my chair!!!! Never had anything like it && I'm obsessed now lol.

I don’t remember the gentleman’s name who was serving at the counter but his service is commendable! Huge portions and they ensure that everything is A one before the customer leaves! It gets no better than that!

My first time, and we were able to sample the items, DELICIOUS! Everything I tasted was good, I will absolutely be making HOOKIN BULL BBQ, my recommendation for good BBQ. The Mac and Cheese is great, Shrimp is crispy and juicy burst in your mouth flavor, I had the rib tips and I am Hooked! On HOOKIN.

The prices were great for the fantastic food you get. The beans - awesome, the ribs - stellar, pulled pork - fantastic, potato salad - amazing, and everything else is wonderful!!

Anytime I'm near this place I plan to stop in. I love the option to call ahead too.

Y’all, this is my new go-to place in Jonesboro- a hole in the wall gem!!!!!! When the cook/owner realized it was our first time he gave us a sampler of their most popular items. Some of the best bbq I’ve ever eaten. And their sides are equally amazing. The mac n cheese is magical, the potato salad is so creamy. And the buttermilk pie.... heavenly. They make everything fresh so it takes a little longer but it’s worth it. Also, there isn’t a lot of seating so make plans to take it with you. 10/10 would recommend.

A lovely little BBQ spot tucked away off of 138. It's like treasure when you find a quaint little establishment like this. I don't eat pork but the chicken, shrimp and sides are to die for (as I'm sure the pork entrees are as well). If you want great tasting food and phenomenal service smile, don't hesitate to swing by.
