This is a nice ma and pa book shop located in the Toco Hills Shopping Center. The woman at the front was friendly. As soon as I walked in she asked if I needed help finding anything. They have a nice little selection of books from all ages. Since they are a small store their book prices are a little higher than a chain store, but I am all for supporting small businesses. They also have a friendly cat that roams around the store which gives the shop an even friendlier vibe. If you are in the area I definitely recommend checking out what they have to offer.

Love this bookshop! They have a varied selection of every genre, particularly different authors of different backgrounds, and the owners take so much care in making recommendations. Kids’ books have recommendations by other kids - highly recommend!

I love this local bookshop! The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I visit atleast once a month to stock up on new novels. If they don't have what I am looking for they always offer to order it. I have even been able to purchase signed copies of my favorite novels here.
The manager Christopher is very helpful, I look forward to seeing him each time I visit. 🐈‍⬛

An independent local business. If you don't know what to read next, the staff can suggest based on your interests and needs. The store itself is small but has a cheerful atmosphere and a feline. If there is something that is in print and not on the shelves then they are happy to order. The prices may be slightly higher but they pay taxes, enrich our community and help prevent billionaires from having a stranglehold on authors.

A lovely little neighborhood bookstore!

I dropped in to pick up a notebook, and was glad I did so the moment I stepped in the store. I was greeted by warm and friendly customer service, and a great selection of products. I got to make my choice in peace, picked up a perfect notebook for my needs, and am sure I will be back soon to check out what looked like an amazing book collection.

We travel from out of state to visit this wonderful bookstore, which has beautifully curated selections of books within each section, wonderful gifts, and a smart, helpful, hospitable staff. Several times when I’ve needed gifts and haven’t known what to choose, the owner has made brilliant suggestions and I’ve had happy gift recipients! The shop gladly does special orders and the staff goes the extra mile!

They've been neighborhood staple my whole life, and I can't imagine getting my books anywhere else! Also, when you're buying books as gifts for the holidays make sure you ask them to gift wrap! They have lovely wrapping paper and do a wonderful job. 🙏💕

What a cute little local bookstore!

The staff let my partner and I browse freely and I made several pleasant random discoveries that one hopes for when shopping without a book list.

Antonia was extremely helpful and fun to chat with when I did want help. We discussed queer book options and they loaded me up with several great suggestions. I am already loving my selections!! Thanks for making my visit from FL that much better!

Can’t believe it took me so long to get over here! A great indie book shop run by very sweet people, and I genuinely appreciate their Covid precautions. Just because there isn’t a mask mandate doesn’t mean you just stop caring about other people, but if you are someone who truly cares so little, maybe a big box store is more your style. I am grateful to be able to shop in a space that feels safe.

Never been here but did call and speak to the nicest lady. They didn’t have the book I needed but she referred me to a different store which did end up having it. So kind and helpful!!

I could never say enough good things about this lovely, well-run independent bookshop. It's a great reason to shop local & small business. My family has shopped there for at least 20 years. They have always had bestsellers plus other high quality books, and they can find & special order almost any book for you. I recently called them, stuck in my search for Christmas books for a 10 year old grandson interested in the space program & military. Rebecca had lots of ideas, pulled 12-15 age-approptiate, cool books, and I came to the shop. I was masked, as was everyone, & there was plenty of hand sanitizer. She set me up on a bench where I could look at the books at my leisure, far from others. I picked 3 great books, and she found me the adult version of one of the books for myself. Check out was easy & safe. -- OH, and wow did it help my soul just to be in a beautiful bookstore!!!

Owner and staff are very helpful with special-ordering books. On principle I refuse to order anything via Amazon, and use this bookstore whenever I need something ordered. Always a pleasant experience chatting with the ladies who work here.

Tall tales is great! Rebecca and her staff care for their customers with the same witty repartee of Marlene, the original owner.

They carry wonderful books to read, books for kids, cook books, travel, and carry a fun selection of games as well.

During Covid, they are taking precautions to keep everyone safe, so call ahead.

Of special note, they can find used books for a small fee!

Worth the trip!
