Great food. Quick. I can't have seeds due to a health issue and all the hot dog buns have seeds. They were great about suggesting a hoagie roll. Good place.

Super cute ambience I loved the rustic and vintage look inside and out. I was surprised to see the restrooms were outside and around the corner. Pleasantly surprised, because I had already accepted that there was none before inquiring

Skips Chicago Dogs makes the most incredible savory Beef Italian Sandwich! Spices inside this meat-lover's delight emit flavor perfection. Sliced top Sirloin enfolds this seismic marvel with a textured earthiness. Sweet Tea - absolutely delicious!

Your taste palate will rejoice in this hemisphere and throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. Staff delightfully welcomed with friendliness and genuine hospitality. After such a terrific first visit, I could not help but to entice full-out taste indulgence into Skips.

Great Chicago style lunch food. Italian beef with giardiniera can't be beat. Better get it wet, or why even bother? Can't wait to try the Polish!

Omg this little hole in the wall is amazing! The hot dogs are authentic Chicago dogs! The fries delicious! I had a chocolate milkshake that was the perfect finish! It was so busy by such a eclectic group of people! All walks of life enjoy this place!

A solid Chicago dog. No complaints. The taste was on point. Seasoned tomatoes, peppers, pickle, and pepper-onion relish on top of a beef weiner. Hugged by a poppy seed bun.

Fantastic Chicago style dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. Skips is always good. From a Chi town boy born and raised, this is one of the closest options us Illinoisians have to getting homemade cooking.

Skips Chicago Dogs was excellent for lunch. It was true to Chicago roots. The hot dogs and Italian beef tasted like I never left Chicago. The fries were also a great add on to the meal. The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back when in Atlanta.

I’m from Chicago. I had an excellent Chicago style hotdog, tamale, and pizza puff! Looking forward to returning and having an Italian beef sausage combo with giardiniera. Awesome place!

Great place for you to enjoy some Chicago favorites in a Chicago styled fast food establishment. Great staff and food. I has a Chicago dog combo, and will be back for another of my favorites, the Italian beef. Many other items from wings and burgers to cheese stakes and polish sausage. Indoor and outdoor dining. I stopped by mid afternoon for a quick bite. Interestingly bathrooms are accessed from outside.

I don't frequent Decatur often, but when I get the chance I always enjoy coming to Skips. Friendly staff and great hot dogs. Onion rings were also an A+. Definitely give the hot tamale a try too.

This place is located in a great area. Food was fantastic. Service was okay, it's a busy place. The employees were possibly exhausted by the time we got there. You can get great Chicago dogs and there's a very nice park across the street.

When you want a Chicago dog without the hassle of going to Chicago. This is the real deal. Vienna beef. Poppyseed bun. Pickle, hot peppers, tomatoes, and celery salt. When I want the real deal….

One thing to note. These guys steam the bun. I always ask for a non steamed bun. I can’t stand soggy bread.

I used to babysit for the Shababy's when they were getting their first restaurant, Skip's, up and running. I wasn't able to support their endeavor until recently. I enjoyed a sausage dog w/onion rings and my daughter enjoyed a hotdog and fries.
The cashier did not know the name Shababy - seems a shame that employees don't know the background of the place they work.

Today was my first time eating at Skip's, we came in on lunch break and this hot dog shop was a pleasant surprise! Lived in Atlanta for about 10 years and I never heard of this place. And that is quite regrettable. Ordered two bratwursts fries and a soda, and they were quite delicious. Despite having hot and fresh food, the service was a remarkably short wait. Great food. Great service. The employees are a well-oiled machine. You see the same employees stay for long periods of time, so you know they take good care of them which is huge. This is a great, locally-owned place. I can't recommend it more highly.

It took me 10 years to find a place in Georgia that could make a real Chicago Hot dog!

Skip's totally nails it!

Not only do they have great "authentic" Chicago Hot dogs, they have Italian beef, Italian sausage "for the beef sausage combo" and real Maxwell street polish sausage. I get homesicl for Chicago evertime I eat here. Go give skips a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Food and service was amazing! So many choices it was hard to pick. The polish dog, wings and the spicy chicken sandwich were delicious. My husband also loved the shakes!

As a former resident of Chicago it felt like home sweet home without the icy winter. Great food great atmosphere and great service. Skips had me skipping all the way home. Thank you 😊

my buddy specifically brought me here when i came to visit. The best italian beef sandwich ive ever had. The chili dog was perfect. The fries were fresh. And im pretty sure Skip is the super friendly guy running the register! When im back in atl this place is my first priority
