Wow the biscuits here were just near perfect, if perfect can ever be obtained. The food order was made spot on. Definitely a spot to visit if your looking for a great breakfast. Service was prompt and friendly. I got ham & egg biscuit. The ham was very good and not a dried out slab of meat. Not very much parking but it seems many utilize the lot next door.

My wife and I were just passing through town. I wanted an old school southern breakfast and I got one everything was great from the pancake to the eggs being cooked just right. Service was great as well. I'll probably eat here every time I visit Chattanooga.

The absolute best Southern Food in the area. Hands downs, some of the cheapest, most delicious, and fresh food in Chattanooga. I had the chicken livers with mashed potatoes and turnip greens. Everything, and I mean everything, was the best version of those things I've ever had from a restaurant. The chicken lovers were especially good. Those were the best chicken livers I've ever had, just period. You would be doing your mind, body, and soul a favor by checking this place out and don't forget dessert because their strawberry shortcake they have on Wednesdays is to die for.

The breakfast plates available here are a better value than any other of the "breakfast restaurants" you see off the highways. My particular favorite is the country fried steak, hands down the best I've had in years. The food is always steaming hot and delicious, the service is friendly and filled with typical southern charm, and you're bound to meet someone unique from the cast of "regulars".

Highly recommend if you're looking for good southern food at a reasonable price.

They have great home cooked, like your Grandma cooked it, comfort foods. They have great prices and daily specials. GO TRY IT! YOU'LL LOVE IT! It's truly southern cooking!

We went here because we wanted a home cooked meal. This tasted just like grandma's kitchen. We had the sampler breakfast plate. Everything was so good. And we did not leave hungry. Very well priced. Nice atmosphere.

The reviews are spot on! Pillowy soft biscuits with crunchy exterior, saw mill gravy and real eggs scrambled. Coffee, service and prices excellent too!

Old South is exactly like eating in your grandma’s kitchen! The breakfast is mouth watering and the fried catfish is a must! Also, you get huge portions for cheap! I love the mozzarella sticks the new owner just added!

What a great little diner! Our server was the epitome of Southern hospitality, so friendly and efficient. The food was fast, hot, and fresh. My omelet was too hot to eat, but looked to good wait. I loved the saw mill gravy too. My wife got a breakfast sampler which filled the table. Eggs, bacon, sausage patty, grits, and a huge pancake, which I got to enjoy since she can't have gluten.
It is definitely a favorite of local residents since it seemed that half the people there knew each other and the employees.
If you are visiting the Ruby Falls area, this little gem is only a few minutes away and absolutely worth the short drive.

For the locals it's Buds without the alcohol. Great locals catching up at their favorite hangout. The food is down home and delicious. The staff takes ownership so you can't tell who owns the place w/o being an insider. I'll be one soon and will add pictures the next time I go...

Just shear luck happening upon this establishment. Enjoyed some home cookin in the form of meatloaf, and beef liver & onions. Do yourself a favor and go here!!!

Fried Chicken was AMAZING! Fried Okra and Cornbread Dressing was to die for. Home Cooked meals that are so tasteful and you feel so satisfied that you want to sleep in your recliner after this great meal not to mention the service! they make you feel right at home! Such a pleasant atmosphere! Will definitely be back!

Fast+friendly service, affordable, definitely a favorite with locals. Pickled beets were great with my country fried steak.

This is my third time eating at Old South. The grilled chicken salad and the Philly Cheese Steak are both excellent, and the service was great! If you are looking for a pleasant and relaxed lunch, you’ll love it here!

Food was pretty good, service was great, charming little place. No complaints. Good place to stop by for lunch or breakfast.

The food was delicious, home cooked taste, large portions and filling for a great price. We will definitely come back when we are back in the area :)

Best authentic Souther food I’ve had in a long time. Kudos to the owners and chef for keeping it real. Will be back.
