Steger Service

Steger was recommended to me when Mike from Advanced Motors retired and closed up shop. I made an appointment for Friday on Wednesday. I was able to wait for my car. I just needed an emissions test and a look at the fluids. Just a basic check up. The front office ladies were friendly and courteous. They have another building across the street. They are on Manchester near Schiller Camera. I would visit again. They provide text base review for you from their 100 points plus check. Includes pictures and recommendations.

I took my car in to another place to get an oil change- what a mistake. They barely knew what they were doing- They took forever to do the job, didn't add enough oil and couldn't get the computer to reset. On my drive home the add oil light went on. I called Chris Steger at 5:25 on a Friday night. Steger closes at 5:30. Chris waited for me to come over to the shop, added oil and waited with me while he checked to see if the levels were ok. When I asked what I owed him he said nothing. That kind of service is above and beyond the call of duty and I will never again take my car anywhere else. Thanks again Chris.

The second time I went here, I was expecting the same service I got the first time. They exceeded my expectation in providing solution to my flat tire. Some things are meant to stay the same, hopefully their service stays the way it is because I plan on coming back and recommending them to others.

I’ve been using Steger for quite a while now and have never had a bad experience. They do a great job of reviewing issues and giving their recommendations without pressuring the customer. They have a lovely waiting area with free coffee/drinks. Everyone I’ve had interactions with including Chris (the owner), Carol (the office manager), and Eleana (the front desk receptionist) have all been wonderful. Highly recommend Steger Service!

Took a car in for a pre purchase inspection. Mr. Steger was thorough and courteous. I received a detailed report. Great shop!

Chris is very business oriented. He has shown me over and over customer service is very important to him. The employees there shares Chris' philosophy. I highly recommend this establishment. They laugh and talk with the customers. I like the friendly atmosphere. They also have coffee and treats. Yummy! The sitting area is comfortable and clean. It doesn't look like it's a mechanic shop's waiting area. I'm so happy Chris is my mechanic and I know where to go for HONEST work!

For the last 6 years I worked at a dealership so when I changed jobs I had no idea where to go for service. I've used Steger a couple times now and they've been great, always coming in well below what I figured the job would cost. Also the owner is usually around and happy to talk with the costumers, a great change from my dealership job where they would hide away. 100% recommend.

Steger Service is AMAZING! My brother has been taking his cars there for over twenty years when they were on the north side of Manchester. They do honest and reliable work which is probably one reason their business has expanded to six more service bays!

My mom recently had a major engine fix on a van she recently purchased. Steger Service went above and beyond back tracking the service history on the vehicle and discovered the van was misrepresented at sale. Subsequently, the dealer then agreed to pay for the repairs to make it right. That saved my mom THOUSANDS and that could not have happened with out Steger's due diligence!!!

Great place! Very accommodating, knowledgeable, and fair. They do a great job of thoroughly explaining what is wrong too. I feel like the genuinely care. Chris and Jerry are great!

I have used Steger for quite a few years for my and my kids’ cars for both minor and major repairs. I only buy used cars so a top-notch mechanic is essential.They provide terrific service and I’ve never had a problem with a bad repair. Plus, they’ve figured out some really tough problems with electrical systems. Their staff is always super friendly. I highly recommend this firm.

There is not enough space for me to sing the praises of Chris and his team. I found his Father in 1982 after being told that a repair related to my steering would be two hundred dollars. Steger Sr. said "I know what this needs" and in seconds with a huge paper clip he fixed it! Chris has followed his Father's legacy on steroids. Most recently my Mom purchased a van with a lift for a wheelchair only to find it needed thousands in repairs. Chris and his team jumped into action and found a way to get it paid for! I have told people for years to take your car to Steger!! They are skilled ethical and deeply care! Even if you live a bit of a distance it's more than worth the drive!

This is the second time I've had to take my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Steger for service and both times they've been professional and expeditiously. I cannot recommend them enough. Special thanks to Jerry Henry for keeping me informed throughout the entire process.

I hired Steger service to repair my truck rear end and brakes. The work didn't go as planned. After just a couple of hundred miles, I had to have my truck towed to them. Not good. What is good is the way that Steger Service handled the situation. Things happen. Repairs don't go as expected all of the time. While I was not happy that the truck had to be towed in, I was very happy to see how the situation was handled, Steger made it right at no charge, they took responsibility for the error, explained the error. and most importantly handled the situation with total professionalism. True integrity.

Steger is far and away the best auto service I've used in the past thirty years in St. Louis. I just wish I had found them sooner. Simple to complex, they always do a great job and will bend over backwards to make sure things are done right. I'm not sure what more you could possibly ask.

So I discovered Chris Steger and his team after my long time neighborhood garage closed up. Bottom line -- dedicated and visible owner, quality mechanics ... BUT dealing with the service manager Carol is the absolute treat. Unbelievable attention to customer service, knowledgeable, and trustworthy ... she is the PRICELESS benefit of dealing with these fine folks.
