Absolutely exquisite! We tried almost every offering they had for specialty desserts that day. Everything was delicate, well balanced, and bursting with flavor... as an even more exciting treat. My daughter got to meet Nathaniel, and he was kind and welcoming.

This is an absolute must if you are ever in STL.

My family went here today. I got the chocolate almond croissant (10/10- I’m obsessed!!!)
And my husband got the breakfast sandwich which he said was okay. My toddler got a macaron.

The reason I put 3/5 stars for “atmosphere” is because I think more seating would do this place wonders.

After leaving the Laumiere Sculpture Park, I wanted to get desserts in the area, and I stumbled upon this place with so many great reviews! I just had to see this place for myself. This store was in a small shopping area with decent parking spots in front of the shop. All the items displayed in the shops looked delectable and freshly made. I ordered these desserts and pastries: the Jarmo and the strawberry panna cotta. They were so, so good! I'll come back to this bakery for more goods next time!

The staff were super friendly, and the service was fast. There are plenty of sitting areas if you enjoy your desserts in the shop.

Got the ruby (dark chocolate and raspberry), almond croissant, ham and cheese croissant, roast beef, roasted turkey, and prosciutto sandwiches. Loved all of them! If I had to choose one sandwich, I’d definitely recommend the roasted turkey - its cheese/mayo combo is so savory and the meat is delicious! Make sure to ask the staff to toast the sandwiches. I’d also suggest eating the ruby cold.

GO! Go and taste as much as you possibly can. Been here several times and never disappointed. The sandwiches are amazing as the bread and croissants are amazing and all the baked goods are beautiful and taste great. There is almost always aline but the line moves quickly.

The best french pastry I had in USA so far. Croissants are just amazing! Especially Almond ones! Highly recommend to go there and try! It is THE french bakery! Hidden gem in St. Louis!!!! ( be prepared to stay in a line, but it moves pretty fast. And waiting time is absolutely worth it!!!)

If I could this place more stars I would! Don’t be surprised when you pull up there is a line outside waiting to get in…this Kirkwood bakery is the best! Nathaniel Reid is French trained and an award winning pastry chef. I love coming here because I feel like I am back in Paris. The sandwiches, the pastries, the macroons, one pastry is better than the next. If you haven’t been here yet put it on your STL bucket list!

I stop here every time I pass through St. Louis. The food is excellent. I have really enjoyed everything I have ever purchased here. Today, however, I am writing about the service. It was a pretty busy day it seemed, but the service was fantastic. Friendly, polite, helpful, and still timely with all the guests. I highly recommend this shop!

Tons of people wokring and the line was a bit non stop the whole time I was there. I am on the search for the best Gooey Butter Cake in St. Louis and I got a suggestion that this had the best. I didn't see Gooey Butter Cake on the menu and when I got there it was confirmed that they didn't have Gooey Butter Cake. Instead I ordered 6 Chocolate Croissants, Ruby (Raspberry compote, chocolate cake, chocolate-raspberry tea mousse), Bacon Quiche (Bacon, Gruyère, caramelized onion) and Vanilla Latte. The Chocolate Croissants were super flakey and you can tell they were made extremely well. The Bacon Quiche was one of the best I have ever had in my life. They eggs were not over cooked at all and it melted in your mouth. The Ruby was suprisingly good as well, we thought it would be hard but it ended up being soft.

Love it, best macaron I’ve ever had, kept a good balance in flavor, sweet but not like average American sweet, cheesy but not greasy at all

The best croissants in the area! I have tried a number of bakeries around St. Louis, but this one is my favorite. The ham and cheese is sooooo good! Bread is very flaky and lightly sweet + buttery. I’d come here daily if I could. 😋

Love this place. The croissants were incredible. The desserts are the best I have ever had in my entire life. If this place has a line it’s because they are superior to every other bakery in St. Louis. The ruby is incredible. Buy one. The breakfast sandwiches are so good. Seriously. Love this place. The macarons are incredible.

Update: So happy to be back post pandemic! ❤ Roast beef sandwich was amazing.

Original: Every single bite was heavenly. I cannot wait to go back and try a sandwich. I had the Chocolate chip pecan cookie, cheese Focaccia bread, an Amber (tart) and the Ruby. Like a party in my mouth. Friendly staff. The place is bright and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by!

This place is the best! Great memories of desserts with family and friends- this is THE place I get dessert from when I am looking for the best.

The only challenge is the checkout line. You have plenty of excellent workers that are helpful, efficient, and friendly, Nathaniel. Can you please find some way to add another checkout? That’s the big bottleneck. I’d be happy to just “live order” in the line and pay via my phone online. Anything to improve that bottleneck please! There are plenty of times I would like to get something and don’t because I know it is likely to take 15 or 20 minutes or more to get through the line.

Oh my gosh. I cannot stop raving about how much I love this place. Tracy was extremely helpful today and the food is spectacular. My husband and I just got home from Paris a couple months ago, and the croissants are exactly what I’ve been craving ever since we left. Coming here is going to become a new family tradition for sure

The #1 place I miss when I leave home for college. This bakery has amazing croissants, cakes, sandwiches, and so much more! This bakery not only ranks high in the US, but arguably in the world! When I had my first bite of a NR croissant after coming back from France, I felt as though I was transported back to Paris! Needless to say, you have to try this place out (you won’t regret it)!

Oscar winning performance by James Beard winning baker. This is the kind of place you stop by when you forget to bring an item to your girlfriend's parents church potluck.

Once, just by chance, I came to an article about state wise best bakery places in USA in mashed.com, and saw this place for Missouri. Then we thought to give it a try on the next day. We could find many great reviews about chef Nathaniel Reid. We were really got excited to visit the bakery owned by the chef of a Michelin three star restaurant, and we had a lot of expectations. It was a drizzling Saturday noon during this pandemic time. Due to the pandemic situation, only 4 people were allowed to be inside. They are following a strict COVID regulation, which made me feel safe. There was a long queue outside and people coming out were just praising. When we went inside, I was surprised to find that the mousse just looked exactly like that in the pictures. The quiches were excellent. We got Camille, Ruby, Guyana, Genevieve mousses, and loved them all. The cranberry orange financier and pear danish were amazingly delicious. They were inspecting each of the mousses before putting them for sell. Every moment and penny spent there is fully worth. I just love this this place and going to coming back soon with more people with me. I completely recommend this bakery.

Absolutely wonderful. They won an award for the best pastries in the US. Highly recomend for all ages. Some of the deserts would be a little bit challenging for younger kids, but they do have things kids would enjoy. Very friendly staff.

Great customer service. Friendly staff. Fast, great service and best of all, the food! Semi pricy but definitely worth the buck! The croissants are made to perfection, warm, flaky and fresh!

I love this place and highly recommend it !
