Shrimp Basket

My only disappointment was that I haven’t gone sooner!! I was expecting a fast food type of atmosphere. I was wrong. A great menu, fabulous atmosphere, and impressive food. Additionally, the staff were extremely attentive - a rare find these days. Highly, highly recommend. Right off I -10. It’s a repeat place for us now.

I tried the Cajun pasta and the seafood basket, and both were delicious! The staff was very friendly, especially Kesha. She was attentive and helpful. I also loved their unique way of letting them know you enjoyed the meal - ringing the bill by the door! It was a fun touch.

We got the shrimp baskets (one each of the popcorn shrimp and large shrimp baskets). Service was friendly. Food was tasty and came out quick. Nice portions for the price.

The Shrimp 🍤 Basket is my boyfriend’s and I favorite place to stop for a delicious 😋 lunch date! The food is always fresh and filling. The service is always so nice and relatable! Families are welcomed here and they also have a bar with cocktail specials for certain times or on certain days. Thanks for the great service and food! My boyfriend ordered a Whitefish and Shrimp basket to go with fries, hush puppies, corn bisques bites, and you can’t forget their delicious shrimp coleslaw which is my most favorite 🤩 Be sure to stop 🛑 by this location for a delicious meal that you won’t regret!

Was looking for boom boom shrimp for the wife and found The Shrimp Basket and came across a "gem" of a place. Walked in to a very clean restaurant, not terribly busy, with friendly and fast staff. They were very helpful in answering questions about the menu and food, giving good description and sizes for the food and plates and definitely helpful in making decisions. The wife had her boom boom shrimp which she absolutely loved, I'm not really a seafood fan so I went with the chicken fingers and potatoes. And I will tell you the potatoes definitely are off the chain! I could have ate a huge bowl full of them. Very tender, seasoned great, just a great little side dish. The chicken fingers we great as well and the wife loved her boom boom shrimp. We both we very impressed with The shrimp basket, from staff to atmosphere to the food! They Definitely make you feel welcomed, and take care of you while you are there. As a nice touch they have a bell next to the door to ring if you had good food, we heard the bell ring several times while we were there and we also rung it ourselves. Highly recommend giving them a try or repeat business, I know we will when we are back in town!

Keisha, Amber, and Morgan rocked a Sunday lunch service in a way I’ve never seen. These ladies worked so hard to serve everyone quickly and were all so friendly. I had to tip them an extra $20 because they definitely all deserved it. Many props to the guys in the kitchen because the food was phenomenal as well. The best fried shrimp I’ve had since I’ve moved back to MS!

Brittney and Morgan are just the sweetest nicest servers I've had in literally years.
I've eaten here probably 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I cannot recommend the gumbo, shrimp etouffee, and blackened red fish enough, EFFING DELICIOUS!!!
My mom is a born and bred southern Louisiana Cajun, so when I say it's done right, it is.
If you go in during the week, make sure you ask for Morgan or Brittney, great hosts!

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday 5/25/24 right after opening. Great food and great people. Lindsey, Starr, and the rest of the crew were all super friendly. Would definitely come back again!

What an amazing place. I am in town for business and wanted something local so I tried the shrimp basket, since I overhead someone saying it was great figured why not.
I was not disappointed. Staff is amazing and the service was awesome. Starr the GM and Keisha my server were incredibly friendly. Keisha was so good she sold me on dessert that I definitely did not intend to order, but very glad I did. The food was terrific. Had the boom boom shrimp and a fried shrimp basket. Slice of key lime pie. Yum. Their hush puppies are amazing. If and or when I come back to gulf port you can bet I will eat there again. Thank you for making my night...

My Military Retired Fishing Buddies/Dear Friends & I went to the Shrimp Basket to eat dinner. This was our very first visit to this restaurant. We came down for a fishing excursion & relaxation. We order the seafood gumbo, fish basket, seafood platter & blackened red fish w/all the the sides that accompany the dishes. From the first taste of the gumbo, we knew we came to the right place. Andrew was an excellent server. He was very attentive, courteous & kind. The entire staff was very friendly. Everything taste so delicious, including all the sides ie coleslaw, hush puppies, fries, tartar sauce. They give you a lot. We also fell in love with the key lime pie. Great food & service. Thank you Andrew.

Chose here due to close proximity to our hotel. Morgan was fantastic!!!! All of the staff was courteous and friendly. Restaurant was clean. Only downside was the women’s bathroom was not functional due to previous guests making a mess. Easily remedied by using the private men’s room.

I can not recommend this place enough! Food was amazing and Keisha L was an awesome server! We had a party of 10 and everything came out promptly and correct. Some of the best seafood and they have great sauces that they make in house (cocktail, marmalade, ranch, etc).

Haven't been here in a while and stopped back in. I usually get the shrimp and grits but decided to try something different so I got the blackened redfish with cream sauce. It was delicious! I will definitely be back soon! Our waitress was Lindsay and she was great!

This was our first time here. Definitely won’t be out last.Kesha our waitress was awesome. We took her up on her recommendations and they were spot on. Even the coastal sunset cocktail was delicious and perfectly made. Highly recommend this place.😊

Michele, our server, and the general manager were absolutely terrific in every facet of our evening. We came at 6:45pm on a Friday evening, GOOD FRIDAY, and were seated immediately. There was quite a wait for food due to it being Good Friday but we were more than compensated for our wait. They made our night much better and they both are extremely friendly and kind. 10/10 for both of them.

Corporate, please give these two a nice raise. They deserve it!

My friend and I stopped for lunch on the way to the airport. Our waitress, Lindsey, was super friendly and we got excellent service. The smoked Mahi dip was delicious, as well as the shrimp Po-Boy. The food was great, but it was the excellent service by Lindsey that leaves the biggest impression!

Great service, great selection and food quality is excellent. Portions are generous. One of my favorite local places. Just wanted to give a shout to Morgan! When I come in I ask for her because she's always chipper and sincere and always takes care of me like family!!! Ask for her, she will make your experience great!!!

My kid wanted to go to Raising Canes but I’m like: dude. We are thisclose to the ocean and Mama needs seafood. We came to Shrimp Basket due to sheer proximity to our hotel but I would come back regularly if/when in the area (or would make a special trip - it’s that good!). The only thing better than the food (which is hard to beat) is the great staff and atmosphere. I tried to leave with a “Who you calling shrimp?” tee to take the memories back home … they were out of my size, but I scored the even-better “Keep it shrimple” hat. We especially loved the firecracker fries and unbeatable service from Michele and Starr. Run don’t walk, then catch your breath over a marg and eponymous shrimp basket! 😂😀🍤

Food and service were outstanding. My daughter loved the shrimp po boy and my shrimp pasta was good. The seafood dip appetizer was excellent with lots of shrimp in the cheese and the chips were homemade. I know my wife liked her food because she likes to share it when it is good and she tried to share many times. Finally the best part of the meal was the key lime pie.
