Good, tasty Lexington-style barbecue. Even my picky eaters ate their food and loved it, so they must be doing something right.

Fantastic brisket and ridiculous amount of ribs! The meat melted in my mouth. Delicious food, wonderful service with unbeatable prices. Perfect for families looking for a great deal!

New owners have taken the food to a new level! Excellent service and all the food was great. Everyrhong is fresh not frozen and fried. Hand patty burgers cooked over flame, traditional pit cooked Lexington style bbq. Best ribs in town hands down. Chicken was pit cooked and moist. If you aren't eating here you are missing out. New post 12/2/18 If your last experience here was 2 years or longer ago then you owe it to yourself to try it again. I promise it's a different experience now. This has become a weekly dining experience for my family. Lexington needed food like this!

One of the best BBQ restaurants in Lexington and it is off the beaten path. Inside the decor looks like an old hunting lodge, but the food here is amazing!!! I would recommend the combination platters of 2 or 3 meats and make sure to get the 1/4 chicken white with the chopped BBQ.

I was quite impressed with the BBQ here. I ordered the dark chicken and pulled pork combo with bbq slaw and baked beans. I'm pretty picky when it comes to chicken at BBQ restaurants, but they nailed it. It had a great flavor and the tenderness was spot on. The pulled pork was nearly flawless as well, with just the right amount of bark mixed in. The sauce went well with everything, but I didn't find myself using as much as normal because the meat had such a good flavor. I'm not a big slaw guy, so I will refrain from commenting on that, but the baked beans were great.

The pricing was very reasonable as well. I look forward to going back and trying their brisket and ribs.

Good food and a wide variety. Our favorite is the barbecue and hush puppies. Don't worry about running out of hush puppies seems they have an endless supply. Very affordable. If it wasn't so late we'd be on our way there now.

A good Sunday stop for smoked meat. There is a little bit more choices on Sunday now 4 BBQ. There's Backcountry BBQ and Randy's on 64. And various others but on Sunday many are not opened. However a lot of people forget this little log cabin off Rock Crusher Road called Cook's barbecue. One thing I always look for in good BBQ establishments. Is the 3 C's. That is cleanliness, cost-effectiveness, and great customer service. They rocked the three C's today . They are open Wednesday through Sunday till about 8 p.m. Their summer hours may get a little longer. Was very impressed with the smoked turkey and my wife enjoyed their Chop BBQ with crinkle cut fries and delicious Red slaw it was finely chopped and very flavorful. One reviewer called it too mushy. Definitely not the case today. We saw some good smoke meat around us people were really enjoying the ribs and the beef brisket. Also someone at another table told us their barbecue chicken is really good and tasty too. Also saw young fellow enjoying a nice-looking hamburger.Their salad bar was clean and offered a good senior salad as well as a regular salad that was comparable to other restaurants in price. However I will say for a Sunday their salad bar was well stocked even as late as we arrived which was after 130 p.m. All the different different vegetables on the salad bar were crispy and fresh. Lexington is blessed with a lot of good BBQ establishments. I would have to say this restaurant is in the top of that list. I will definitely be back for some great smoked meat. Their portions of meat are very generous. Prices are along with other barbecue establishments in this area. Trust me you'll be glad you came here if you love good tasting smoked meat. Especially the smoke beef brisket, and the turkey along with smoked sausage a rare find in most barbecue establishments. Update please pray for the owners of this restaurant they were just involved in a very serious accident. The more that pray the better off we will be for these individuals. May God be with this family at this time.Because they we're so nice of a family. The business was starting to pick up for the summer. I am praying hard for this wonderful hard-working family. Heard they are doing okay. Still continue your prayers because after such a terrible auto accident. Healing will take some time and prayer. However they are back open! That is a nice prayer answered. Quite a bit of family members and Friends have got them going pretty good. The father says they have been extremely busy. God is good. All the time.

This place is really, really good. I am still thinking about the brisket plate that I got. The meat was so tasty and the brisket didn't even need to be cut, it just pulled apart with my fork. I also got the okra and corn sides and the dish came with hush puppies. It all tasted so good. My family were in the area for a JW assembly and we were looking for somewhere Gluten Free to meet some friends and enjoy a meal. Cook's had many nice GF reviews and we decided to give them a shot. Boy am I glad that we did! The owner, who is GF herself, was very knowledgeable about what we could have, and there were many items on the menu that were GF. She even asked questions to make sure that we were in good hands. My kids were so excited to get a burger with a GF bun. The atmosphere was cozy; this is definitely a local's places, but we felt right at home. Amazing portion sizes at great prices. If I only have one recommendation, its is that my sides were a bit cold by the time the meal arrived. That being said, I am looking forward to going back again and getting some more of that tasty brisket, or maybe the ribs, or the barbeque, or the combo plate. To many tasty choices.

Unique place. It is located back in the woods at the end of a residential road. Very good BBQ and fish. It resently went through an ownership change. I was a little worried at first but they seem to have righted their enittial wrong turns and are serving some very good Q. I like the beef Q as I get a little tired of just pork around Lexington. Keep up the good his Cooks

May be hard to believe, but this place has the best fried flounder you could wish for! Also, great white slaw and hush puppies, too! Casual dining, and a great place to eat when at High Rock Lake. Barbeque is delicious, too.

Had dinner here tonight, I am a BBQ fanatic, I have had BBQ all over the state and am picky to the point my family gets anoyed. This place is now my new number one. Finding this place is like a treasure hunt, don’t doubt your GPS when it says yeah it’s on a dead end residential street. If you’re like me and like your Q ah natural without sauce that hides the smokey pork goodness then you will love this place. The ribs come with a smokey sauce that’s not too sweet and cooked to that almost falls off the bone perfection. Lots of good ole down home sides, I can recommend the pintos but the onion rings were just good. Make it an event and hunt down Cooks BBQ.

Here in Lexington, most BBQ restaurants are only about the pork, but Cook's has GREAT slow cooked chicken as well. Typical settings, but way above average food, generous portions, and typical or slightly higher than typical prices, but still very fair. They are worth following the signs to find.
