The newest dining experience at South Of The Border! This place feels a whole lot more authentic too, as they sell Mexican street food here now, as opposed to when it was Hot Tamale, and they were mostly about cheeseburgers and hotdogs and whatnot.

Attached is a picture of the titular item, the Burrito Loco. You can't not order that at least once in your life!

This building is also a great way to escape the heat, as it is super air conditioned!

It was surprisingly tasty. The salsa bar had two kinds of salsa verde, one was tomatillo and one avocado based. I love salsa verde so that won me over. There were cucumbers, radishes, onions and cilantro at the salsa bar as well, although sliced too thick, especially the radishes. Refried beans were tasty. It was a lot of food for $11. Outside restroom was decent.

When you goto a place called Burrito Loco, you just have to order the "Burrito Loco" I thought it was a little pricy at first until they brought it to me. It must have been atleast 5 pounds and it was delicious 😋 I definitely recommend it.

Disappointing experience as only 2 people were handling the kitchen... one cool and the other taking the orders and a BIG line of queue... when our turn came the lady said I would take 30-45 minutes as there are 6 orders before us... therefore we left

I have put the picture of the menu so I hope it helps you decide to stop by or not. Do try the Tamale as I have heard is good.

Authentic Mexican tacos! Nice salsa condiments bar with fresh cilantro, onion, jalapenos,.. We are traveling from FL and think this place is better than most Mexican restaurants we've tried locally. Would recommend!!!

I have ate at this establishment twice and got the same thing both times I got steak nachos but the second time I got steak nachos fries and mind blown that was a game changer. I love the taco condiments bar and the authentic Mexican feel of the cuisine. Being that it's at a tourist attraction it does stay rather busy but they have very speedy service.

Talk about quirky; this place is like a blast to a zone where the 80s stood still. Faded paint all around, with weird statues every direction you look. But at the end of the day, they make one really tasty taco! This place screams tourist trap - but it's NOT - it's, it's own slice of amazing Americana that needs to be experienced! They have it all: toys, fireworks, gas, clothes, food, and even a reptile zoo. If you're passing by, stop look and stare because it's truly a sight to behold!

Delicious! Hot food. Friendly service and a clean restaurant. The bathrooms were closed but that was the only negative.

An Epic legendary tourist trap worthy of some good campy fun and photo ops without the money grab. Love it or hate it, you'll laugh as it were about the foods, which are decent enough, or the wait, which I wouldn't do if there were more than a few covers ahead of me; but whatever. Slow but very friendly service.

Good coffee, clean bathrooms, and with a convenient gas station out front, makes for a goofy pit stop even if you're not into the whole South of the Border thing.

Is far out just to experience the whole blast from the past late sixties/early seventies dining room. Fun, fun, fun.

Had a quick bite. Tamale, cup o'chili with chese and a coffee. Wasnt smart enough to picture the food, but nothing too exotic.

Always a fun stop and place to refuel your stomach as well as your vehicle. Also souvenir shopping and photo taking.

My fiancé and I always stop here to eat when we come this way. The employees are always friendly. Service is fast. Establishment is clean. Food is cooked after you order. Always fresh and hot. No refills on drinks. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich for the first time. It was really good!! My fiancé always gets hot good dogs and never complains. We'll continue to patronize this restaurant. We've both have been coming here since we were kids with our parents. We'll keep the tradition going.

The Hot Tamale at South of the Border got a face-lift. 😍 Get the Burrito Loco. It's huge! Make sure you remind them about your chips and salsa of you want them.

My son picked out this tourist trap as a place to stay between Florida and his visit to Duke for school. It was ok. He loved the fact that he could order a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We stayed locally and I think he wanted to sleep in the lobby so he could order a hamburger every time his bottom less pit of a teenage stomach even thought about being hungry.
