We stopped here while visiting Louisville. We did call the number to get the lock code the same morning that we went. It was easy to do. Just give them some information, and they will give you the code. You can send an email or call. They only allow 3 vehicles a day due to limited parking. There is a cliff with a waterfall which was flowing slowly the day we went. There are trails that we were able to follow, even with all of the leaves on the ground. It's not a huge park but if you enjoy nature it's a nice stop. If the water was flowing more, I'm sure it's really beautiful. The trails are a little rugged but not bad if you watch your step. We spent about an hour there. We did not see a trail map posted there, but it seemed like an easy trail to follow, and the cliff is not very far into the trail. I don't remember seeing a bathroom there either, so stop ahead of time if you need to.

We had a great time! We went after a good rain so the falls were flowing very well the day we went. Very easy trail hike but when it comes to the creek bed it requires much more agility.

So. They gave me a code. It was wrong. I called on a Saturday morning and a friendly lady gave me the right code. It got me in and I locked myself in. No one else was there. The Falls and Gorge are cool. On the way out I realized I didn't write the new code down. It has 10000 possible combinations. I tried what I thought it was to no avail. I called that nice lady back but no one answered. There was an emergency contact but it only took messages. I was over 100 miles from home and had concert tickets for that evening. I sure didn't want to spend the night in a parking lot or call the cops on myself. I eventually decided to take out my handy toolkit and with a socket I removed 2 cable clamps. I moved my car to the other side of the cable and reattached the cable clamps. My advice..... write down the code and keep a toolkit in your car.

The trail was pretty good, though at times could be a little difficult to follow. The falls is not very far down the trail. if you want to visit, I recommend doing so after some sort of rain event so that you will have water going over the falls.

if you do want to visit, you do need to contact the Jefferson memorial Forest visitor center and register. However, it is super easy and I would definitely recommend visiting this park.

Call and get the combination. The path is locked so don't just show up. We hiked this Trail again today it was beautiful as always. My daughter loves seeing the falls and so does my dog. The trail is not too strenuous but I wouldn't bring very small children. My kids are in Upper Elementary grades.

Very short easy hike. Awesome horseshoe shaped waterfall with over a 100ft drop

Its not as well known as say the parklands but it is still a nice hidden trail to take and depending on how much rain there has been will impact whether you find a waterfall or just a creek bed with puddles.

You will need to contact Jefferson Memorial Forest to gain access as the entrance gate is locked.

You must make reservations to visit, but it is worth it. Easy hike along the top of falls. The hike down into the ravine is a bit more difficult.

REALLY Beautiful place and a hidden gem! Be sure to make a reservation before going or you will be disappointed- the people giving this place a low rating because of this simply need to use their brains a little more! It was super easy to make the reservation.

Just discovered this beauty. Falls were very pretty even without rain. Requires reservations , only 3 cars per day are allowed. But called an hour before going and had no problem getting in. We took our dog, and had the whole park to ourselves!

Incredible Little nature area that only allows four groups a day. Which makes it even more amazing since when you are hiking through it, it's as though It's our own private little hiking trail with waterfalls.

Probably about an hour long walk, more if you explore a little. There is no pre-made path down to the bottom of the falls instead, you have to sort of make your own. Although you can tell some of the people that had gotten to go there mistreated it and littered all over the place. I would still definitely recommend going to this place if you have a chance.

Cool lil place but hard to find a place to park so we ended up going down a street next door that was also a part of the park. Almost seems like a secret waterfall.

Pretty place. If you don't live in the area it's probably not worth the drive, though. The parking lot had 3 parking spots and a picnic table. It's a bit hard to find. Like others have mentioned you need to call ahead with your name and vehicle description/license plate to get the access code.

Others have mentioned litter, but I didn't see any. Wondering if a fellow hiker with respect for nature picked it up. The hike itself is more of a walk or leisurely stroll. I think you could definitely bring small children as long as you keep them away from the cliffs and watch footing as you cross over top of the waterfall. The trail continues until you get to a sign that indicates the trail goes both left and right. It's a short loop that takes you along a small stream.

As others have said, there's not really a clear way to get to the bottom of the waterfalls, and in my opinion the view doesn't necessarily improve if looking up at the falls versus down. Like all waterfalls in KY and IN these aren't particularly impressive, but the limestone is beautiful and for KY I think it's a nice little nature area. I'm not sure why this would have less than 5 stars.

This is the first spot I've ever explored in Louisville! Unfortunately I did not get a photo of the falls on my phone camera because the photos I took with my DSLR aren't any good. At 3-4 pm, the lighting is not great as tree shadows resulted in poor lighting conditions. Would definitely recommend going at solar noon for the best light. The falls themselves are right near the entrance to the trail, and you have to call for a reservation in advanced to get in. After the falls, the trail is short and does not lead to any notable land of water features. I did not find the way to get to the base of the waterfall; that is something I would like to try on subsequent visits.
