Pettys Steak and Catfish

Two of us for dinner, both of us craving catfish tonight. The dinner salad was large, fresh, and really tasty. The bread was hot and delish. The fried catfish was so good! I can highly recommend it! I included a photo of the hush puppies. They were cold and the middle was missing!? Disappointed,
but not a deal breaker for me... bc we had the hot bread with butter earlier. The portions were large, as you can see in photos. Wish we had room for their desserts.

When I say HUGE portions, I’m not kidding. We had the Cobb Salad and the Senior size catfish filets. Food served quickly and cold food was cold and hot food was hot. Definitely recommend. Prices were very reasonable. $13 or so each. Filets came with 2 sides. Hot, homemade whole wheat bread with whipped butter was served to snack on while waiting. Cozy, old time atmosphere.

The wife and I being huge Tom Petty fans, we had to pull over and eat the moment we saw Petty's Steak and Catfish on our latest road trip. Needless to say, it was like "running down a dream" the moment we bit into the delicious fried catfish! The restaurant is definitely not "free falling," as everything we ordered was great. The waitress was charming and a real "American Girl." We will be back, thank you for making us Florida folk feel so welcome and not telling us "don't come around here no more"! 😊

A wonderful local restaurant. Friendly service, great food, nice variety of food choices to choose from. Butter was unique and very smooth - loved the taste. Hubby got the pork rinds appetizer and catfish for dinner. I got hamburger steak with bacon wrapped around the steak with brown gravy and it was delicious. Would recommend. I don't even like rinds and I tried these and they weren't bad.

My son and I stopped in and had the lunch special. He had chicken fried steak, and I had the fried pork. Both were really good. The special also came with tea and a piece of cake which I didn't know, so that was a nice surprise.

I've visited here about 3 times now. I love how the locals walk right in and straight to the coffee table. They bypass the ladies that work there and chit-chat them while pouring their coffee. Definitely people that know each other's name. I've had the Señor and the breakfast tacos. The señor comes in full order or half. Get the half! I tried to eat the full and lost. Even the ladies joked with me and the expression I made when the plate was served. Great small town eating.

There is no cleaner and delicious catfish anywhere on earth. The food is incredibly delicious. We just ate there a few days ago. Unbelievable onion rings, and mushrooms and wonderful, delicious breaded catfish they have the best in Texas.

Wow. Old school diner. Food is AMAZING! Best onion rings ever! I had the hamburger steak with onions. So dang good. Salad was fresh and cold. The dinner rolls, holy moly they were delicious!!

Very good food, amazing pies. No life changing pies! Wait staff was young and could use some touch up training but very sweet girls there. Definitely will be back!

I knew it would be good even before the food arrived. Amazing service and locally owned.

Man the catfish had this Mississippi Boy missing home. It was awesome and the pinto beans were delicious. Definitely need to stop here if you're in Lindale, TX.

This was my first time going there. I was impressed..good was tasty and fresh, the waitress was kind and friendly. I will be returning.

We stopped at Pettys after seeing the sign several times. At first glance I didn't have high hopes. Boy was I wrong. They offer a large portion or a small portion. Perfect for me who can never finish all the food. Fried jumbo shrimp was so good. Green beans perfectly southern. Rolls were hot and oh so soft. Only disappointment was the hush puppies.

Sunday we showed up at 1:40 pm they close at 2pm .waitress was a sweet heart. Beef tips n rice was tender 😋 yummy 😋

Love Pettys, good food and good service. Wait times can be a little long on Sunday afternoons but other than that they are very quick and accommodating.

This place has been here forever and the foods always good

Went here during our trip to Lindale on July 28th. This place was pretty busy but they kept the refills coming and kept our stomachs full.

I want to give a special shout-out to the manager here. Our son got the chicken fried chicken and didn't eat much saying he wasn't fond of the taste. The waitress told the manager and she took it off the bill. Honestly, we really weren't expecting that. I took it upon myself to add the tip to the cost of the chicken fried chicken. I'll definitely come back more when we're in East Texas and tell the whole world of my friends of your wonderful generosity. Thanks and keep up the wonderful work!

Had a great breakfast. The biscuits were unique and very good. We'll go back.
