Our group of four popped in for a drink while we waited for our table at Bamboo on 2nd. This was an excellent recommendation from the host at Bamboo. None of us had visited Avine before and were happy for the opportunity. All our cocktails were tasty and our server was fast and very friendly. Well go back when we can try some of their food too.

Working on completing travel to all 50 states together. Alabama is #39. To qualify we must experience something in the state. What better than a wine bar. We had a great Cab Franc along with two small plates, the Barrata, and brisket sliders. Great way to cap off a travel day.

What an amazing “more than just” a Wine Bar. Our evening was really a 6 Star… dined at a fancy restaurant ( not Avine and not impressed ) close by…. But once we arrived at Avine and greeted by the owner … I think her name was ANGEL…. our evening was what we expected… The wine selection was perfect… Do not pass up this unexpected highlight of our evening!

Gorgeous timeless decor and friendly knowledgeable staff! Fantastic selection of wines by the glass, delicious small plates, and large retail bottle selection. Surprised by their reasonable prices as well. So happy for this addition to 2nd Ave N!

Jess makes an incredible and very tasty espresso martini! Aviné is a beautiful place to enjoy a well made cocktail.

The food was pretty good and the cocktails were top-notch. The environment was nice. The service was ok, but the server was a snob.

Wine bar and wine shop. Wide and terrific selection of reasonably priced wines and unique varietals. Good for groups as well as date night. Tasty bites to pair with your wine as well. Also, check out website for easy online ordering and curbside pickup. Support local business!

Reed will take good care of you at the bar and helped find a great bottle to go. This is the best, and maybe only, spot to grab a bottle downtown. Great spot for wine lovers.

Excellent! To start, the building itself is amazing. The fact that it is also filled with great wine, amazing food, and talented people, takes it to the next level! I am so happy this is in Birmingham!!!

Ashley was amazing and helped us plan a wonderful private wine tasting event for our friends and family. The wine and pairings were absolutely amazing, the staff was kind and you could tell that they loved sharing their knowledge and love of wine!
10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to plan an intimate event, grab a quick drink, or just to relax, “wine” down and stay for a few hours!

Awesome, low key place to read or meet with friends over a cocktail or glass of wine. Excellent food. Pricier, but you get what you pay for in terms of service, quality, environment. Open until midnight most nights

We love, love, LOVE Aviné! We came in for drinks one Saturday afternoon. My boyfriend had a glass of Bordeaux and I had a cocktail with cassis and champagne. Both were delicious and beautifully presented. The bar itself is classy with marble countertops and brass fixtures, with vintage wine and liquor posters decorating the walls- I felt like I was back in Paris. The shop selection is small but well-curated and priced fairly. I left with a bottle of one of my favorite Morgon wines at the lowest price I've seen in the area. If you want a quiet, classic bar or just need a bottle to bring home, Aviné is for you!

Pleasantly surprised to find this jewel of a wine bar/shop with small bites. So glad that my friend showed me this place, seemingly hidden in plain view the shop is beautifully furnished right on 2nd ave North in downtown Birmingham. The owner welcomed us and the sommelier at the bar was friendly and super knowledgeable. I think his name was Matthew. We wanted a wine to go with a dinner but also decided to have a glass while we were there. After tasting a couple we decided on the latter, a French from the Bordeaux region. Fabulously rich but not too thick on the palate.
The som gave us the rundown on the region and variety, very helpful.
At any rate they had a very good selection of wines not found locally and also have regular tastings. We did not have time for any bites but everything looked good. If you are in the area I recommend not passing up this special place. I will definitely be going back for another visit.

been wanting to go to Avine since they opened and got there yesterday- what a GREAT addition to the birmingham food /drink family ! First of all the place is beautiful-! The next thing we noticed was the enthusiasm of the staff- but that is backed up by outstanding knowledge of the wine and food offerings. We put ourselves in their able hands and we were rewarded with delicious wines and small plates to compliment the wine. Overall a great experience ! Go you will be rewarded - we will be back soon and often !

Wonderful wine bar with small plates and charcuterie. Like a little slice of European culture on 2nd Ave.

This place is beyond perfect. Wonderful wine and cocktails. Plus, their small plates are delicious. I would recommend it to anyone.
