Golden Age is classy without being pretentious. The sommeliers go out of their way to chat and make sure the overall experience is a positive one - and they really know their wine well, to boot!

We went for wine and apps for my mother’s birthday and had such a lovely experience. I couldn’t believe how expansive their selection was, either! The shop is much deeper than it appears with something for any palate!

We recently visited this cute little wine shop and had a fantastic experience thanks to the excellent service provided by our server, Noah! From the moment we walked in, Noah greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home.

Not only did he have an extensive knowledge of the different wines available, but he also took the time to understand our tastes and preferences to recommend wines that were perfectly suited to our palate. He was patient, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. He accommodated our allergies and even updated the playlist for us!

The wine selection was impressive, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of wines available. Noah was able to guide us through the different options, and we ended up trying some incredible new wines that we wouldn't have found on our own.

Couldn’t recommend this wine shop enough, and specifically want to give a HUGE thanks to Noah for his exceptional service. His expertise, attention to detail, and warm personality made for a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be returning soon!

The BEST wine selection in all of Birmingham. Alan and I have tried about 6 different bottles over the past few months based off staff recommendations and each one was perfect. A personal favorite, the Gaspard Rosé, who’s description is as follows: the taste of sunshine and the color of sunlight through a window after the rain✨I cannot wait to have a moment free of children to experience a date night at their beautiful bar instead of just swinging by to bring a bottle home! These people are so MAGNIFICENT. I am new to learning about wine and I have been in five times. I worked with someone different each time. They ALL are patient with me, try to educate me, help me with choices and are always so kind! I LOVE this wine shoppe and the staff are ALL GREAT. I promise if you had bad experience here,it was a fluke and please give them another chance. Also, I'm not a "review" person but after my visit today I wanted to spread positive vibes and maybe help a wine surfer find a home!!

Golden age is one of my absolute favorite places in Birmingham. Incredible wine selection in lots of price points. The staff is friendly and helpful—the wines they’ve recommended have quickly become favorites. I love that the staff can help you no matter your level of knowledge on wine. I also love that I can place an order online and they’ll bring the wine to my car. It’s a beautiful space with delicious wine and great people.

Golden Age is by far the best specialty bottle shop I've seen. We drove hours to Mountain Brook and were not let down. The 50/50 board was amazing, and the wine recommendations were even better. We will definitely be regular customers and will continue to make the drive for the experience.

I love golden age! The space is aesthetically so beautiful. The staff is friendly and always sharing knowledge about the wine that I really love. Learning about wine feels overwhelming so I appreciate how they try to educate their customers also.

I had a wonderful first experience at Golden Age! The vibes were great and the atheistic is pleasing. But their staff is where they shine. Alex joyfully answered my 10,000 questions and had great recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and will be back.

The selection at Golden Age is amazing. This shop is THE reason I started to branch out and try new varietals. They have an excellent selection of Austrian and German wines. I highly recommend doing an online order for easy and safe pickup. You can even get some of their pantry (Red Mountain Honey 🤤) and merch (stemware, cheese boards) items online.

If you don't know what type of wine you're looking for, they'll help you out in a heartbeat. And be sure to have a cheese/charcuterie platter in the wine garden. With the Clothbound Cheddar, for sure!!

Great to find organic wines I've never heard of without paying the large premium charged by high-end restaurants. You can tell that plenty of thought went into the architecture to help facilitate the small community/interpersonal connections that everybody craves. Well done!

Purchasing wine can oftentimes be a frustrating, confusing, and expensive venture. I find myself staring in the wine aisle for 30 minutes reading reviews attempting to make a perfect choice. Brandon and Trent, and the rest of the staff at Golden Age, easily bring things to the ground level for those of us who lack in our wine proficiency. They never upsell you unless it fits what you are looking for. The space is beautifully designed, the service is excellent, and seriously the best prices for the best selection of wine you can find in town. So if you want to buy wine as gift and know nothing about wine, or if you want nerd out with some passionate people about an amazing Grenache, or just grab a couple glasses with your babe and enjoy some charcuterie, THIS IS YOUR SPOT!
