This place is phenomenal! My boyfriend took me here for date night. The ambiance is perfect, very intimate setting. The waiter was an absolute pleasure to be around, he was very detailed and gave great recommendations. The food service was top tier, we didn’t have to wait long. The food was very delicious as well. Will definitely come back again.

My wonderful, thoughtful boyfriend brought me here to spoil me for my Birthday! We were not disappointed! First of all Brandon guided us through our dinner with wonderful suggestions and expertise! We highly recommend the cheese plate and the red snapper and the french gimlet! Everything we tried was divine but these were the stand outs! The little bites before, between and after were delightful and fun! The seared scallops we added to the red snapper were seared to perfection! The Pot de creme was sinfully rich! Charming and intimate with a small amount of tables ensure you are taken care of the best way possible! If you have an event to celebrate or just want to be spoiled, make a reservation! I promise you will be delighted!

The ultimate fine dining experience. Flawless service, exquisite & delicious food, well mixed drinks, all served at a slow pace typical of European cuisine so you can relax and enjoy. An absolute must in Birmingham!

What an absolute amazing experience we had here. Bishop was our waiter,and I think he was the best waiter we've ever had at any restaurant. The food was phenomenal, our drinks were always full, the used plates were always removed quickly. I have nothing bad to say about Cafe Dupont!

I have only good things to say about my first time here. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch and the atmosphere is very romantic. Great location downtown, will definitely return

4.5 out of 5 stars. My husband and I took our son to Café Dupont for his 21st birthday. The night started wonderfully. We sat down and ordered drinks. My daughter (with 9 food allergies) ordered a Shirley Temple. The server asked if anyone had food sensitives, we told him about her food allergies and that we brought her food. He offered to bring her a plate and still asked about the allergies (important later). Shortly after our drinks arrived along with the amuse bouche (smoked salmon crostini with some sort of glaze). For appetizers, we had the seared foie gras (me), the compressed watermelon salad (hubby), and the fried oysters and okra (son). Everything was on point for my husband and my son. The only complaint I had wad the bread with the foie gras was not crispy. This caused a texture issue for me. I needed something crunchy. That being said, the flavor was exceptional. After our appetizers, the palette cleaner came (a watermelon sorbet). Our server even brought one for our daughter because it was free of all her allergens. This made her night. She always loves when she can eat something from a restaurant we visit. We then ordered the following entrées: Cast Iron Seared Large Sea Scallops (me), Farm-to-Table Vegetable Tasting (hubby), and the Grilled Elysian Fields Double Cut Lamb Chop & Roasted Lamp Leg (son). Shortly afterward, we got an alert on our phones that my husband's car was moving. It was being towed (OMG). This immediately ruined his evening (I can't blame him). He left to deal with the car issue and our food was delivered to the table. My scallops were seared to perfection. The crust on the fried potato cake had such a light and crispy crust, not oily at all. My son ate everything on his plate. For a minute I thought the bone in his lamb chop might be a goner. My husband hasn't eaten his food yet (still upset about his car being towed). We decided to skip dessert this time since my husband had just gotten his car out of impound and he was ready to go. I loved our server and I can't believe I don't remember his name! I want to give him a shout-out. Café Dupont is a great special occasion /splurge restaurant. We will return.

Helpful hint: Make sure the correct lot location, on the park mobile app, has been entered before leaving your car! Transposed numbers ended up being a $160 mistake!!

Had dinner there last night with 2 friends. The scallop presentation was perfect. Delicate and savory. The red snapper and fried chicken were also delicious. The atmosphere and service made for an exceptional dining experience. I would highly recommend Cafe DuPont

Me and my parnter went to their 4 course Valentine’s dinner and it was amazing. Kayla was amazing server. I ordered a whisky sour that was also phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back.

Had an amazing dinner here with a friend. Our server was so kind and so funny, and the food was delicious. The fried chicken is to-die for, but we enjoyed everything we ordered from the cheese plate to start to crème brûlée for dessert. We also enjoyed a couple of tasty French 75s and the best espresso martinis either of us had ever had. Including pictures of our starter and dessert, but I didn’t even snap one of my entree because I was so excited to dig in and enjoy. What a special place!

Absolutely incredible! Wait staff was attentive, but not pushy. Bartender was courteous and extremely helpful. Special shout-out to Bishop for snapping a photo for us!

The food was AMAZING. My wife and I had a 7:15 dinner reservation and we've been excited to dine here for two weeks. She had been a few times, but this was my first!

My wife had the fried oysters and fried okra as an appetizer, and quail as an entree. I had the butter crunch salad as an appetizer and the buttermilk fried chicken with truffled mashed potatoes. Both of us had a glass of wine- her a very classy Bordeaux, and I had their exquisite Côtes du Rhône.

Everything was impeccable. Flawless. Creative. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant as soon as you get a chance.

To finish the evening we enjoyed a glass each of lemoncello, served in two beautiful glasses affectionately known as their 'Nick and Norah'. It was the very best I've ever had, even better than what I've gotten straight from Rome.

This establishment exceeded all my expectations and I can't wait to go back!

Brandon, our server, was wonderful. He was extremely attentive and answered any questions that we had. Each dish looked amazing and tasted equally as amazing. And the pallet cleaner between dishes was a great surprise. Overall it was a great place for a birthday dinner.

Date Night!! Week 3 Taste of the Town in Birmingham at Cafe Dupont, downtown Birmingham. Funky French cuisine!!

Our server started us off with an unexpected amuse bouche of cucumber, topped with whipped herb brie, and very tasty slice of smoked salmon. For the first course, we shared the Artisan Cheese plate which had samples of 7 different cheeses, in addition to pickled or candied fruits and veggies. The Cheese plate would have made an excellent meal in and of itself!! Next came a Figi apple sorbet before the main courses. Giant Sea Scallops for me, Pork Tenderloin for Steve. We were unable to handle dessert, but the selections we watched paraded to near by tables looked amazing!!
Excellent meal, very attentive and kind servers and "server helpers"!! Valet parking 👍👍always a good thing on a rainy night!! For all of you bourbon drinkers, they have 10 and 12 year Pappy selections...I passed this go 'round!! Cafe Dupont is a must add to your list of restaurants to try!

From the amuse-bouche and champagne to start the meal to the chocolates at the end, everything was perfect. The waitstaff were all lovely and very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the charcuterie with pâté, terrine and hard boiled deep fried egg . I had the vegetable plate for my entrée and the portion was generous and the vegetables were seasonal. We finished out the meal with a fall favorite apple dessert. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend.

Cafe DuPont is a fabulous restaurant in downtown Birmingham. We have rarely encountered the personal customer service as we found here. The atmosphere, food, staff and service are all superb. The management, chef and staff go above and beyond to make the dining experience exceptional. I highly recommend Cafe DuPont.

I've experienced many restaurants; however, Cafe Dupont tops them all. We had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Every individual was amazed at the customer service. The food, oh my!! The food was flavored to perfection. We had several appetizers, which were so good. It had us anticipating how good our food was going to taste. Which Cafe Dupont executed on every level. Thank you for this pleasant experience.

One of our favorite spots in Birmingham! Every visit is perfection. Great cocktails, wine, food, atmosphere, and service. Cayla executes a flawless experience for the senses! So proud to have Cafe Dupont in Birmingham.

It has been over a month since we visited AL and I continue to think about how amazing our experience was on 07/28. Caleb was a phenomenal server and provided us with the best experience possible. They helped with menu selection, fantastic coursing, wine recommendations, and was complimentary to all of the other staff at Cafe Dupont. A meal and evening that won't be forgotten!

Cafe Dupont may very well be the best restaurant in Birmingham. The food, the service and the atmosphere are top notch. Definitely a place everyone should add to their list for a special dining location.

I was in town for my birthday and decided to have my birthday dinner here. Elizabeth was excellent and provided amazing and attentive service. She was knowledgeable and very helpful. Each of us, in my party of 3 had different entrees and all 3 were delicious. The rabbit, pork, and ribeye entrees were seasoned perfectly and everyone was more than satisfied with their selections. Overall, it was a joyous experience.

First time here - classic white tablecloth. Exceptional service, including covering the plates and busing tables and giving the ladies who are wearing all black dresses black table napkins instead of white. It says little details that just make it exceptional experience.

Food was exceptional. Steak was perfectly cooked with amazing reduction sauce. Seasonal vegetables were flavorful and a wonderful accompaniment. Get the beignets and cherry cobbler for dessert! Cocktails were good, but. It spectacular. Wine selection is limited to high price bottles and house wines are $18/glass. The house red had gone cork-bad and was turning - for that price, sniff before you pour. Otherwise, great atmosphere. Will come again!
