Florence City Police Administration

I would like to give a BIG KUDOS to the Florence Police Department. My family and I were traveling from Oklahoma to Chicago to Williamstown KY but when we arrived at Florence KY, it was dark so we decided to stay in Florence KY for 2 nights instead of driving on to Williamstown KY. We stopped at a convenience store to walk around and programed our GPS for local hotels. We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Florence so we all loaded up (5 of us, my parents and 2 nieces) to drive to the hotel. I was driving my patents vehicle because my dad was extremely tired from driving. When I pulled out onto the road from the convenience store, our GPS was not working correctly so I was trying to find the hotel on my own and then I noticed BLUE lights behind me. My dad states " were you speeding" and my reply was "no". Then an Officer approached my window and asked me if there was something wrong....I stated that we were lost and that our GPS was not working correctly. The Officer then wanted to know where we were headed and I told him that we were looking for the Holiday Inn Express. He then asked me if I knew why he pulled me over and my reply was "no". He then informed me that my headlights were off....I laughed and told him it was my parents vehicle and that my car's headlights turned on automatically. Then my parents systtef laughing at me. The Officer was so nice and polite that he escorted us to the Holiday Inn Express and then gave us directions on how to get to Art Encounters, as that is the reason we were in KY. Thank you Kyle for helping us Okies in our time of need. Thank you for your SERVING AND PROTECTING us. We are very blessed to have you Kyle, and all the other officers in Florence KY and throughout the United States.

Best ran police department in the whole state. Helpful, friendly and keep Florence Kentucky safe. Very proud of all the men and women officers who go out of there way to serve us. Thank you Florence Police Department.

I have needed police assistance twice in the past for problems around my residence. Both times they responded quickly ,they were very professional and helpful. Their jobs have become harder now than ever and I just wanted to say Thank you for your dedication and service! People complain about the police but when there is trouble WHO DO YOU CALL? You know! Thanks again!

Hit curb on Mall road blew 2 tires. Officer (Duncan - I believe) kept us safe, eventually brought us home to get other car. This ordeal lasted 2 hrs. Thanks officer, and FPD!! NO THANKS To AAA, Terrible service!!

Long Island audit, sure did make our post office and our Florence police dept look like a bunch of lying Karens and back stabbers.

After watching an online video from Long Island Audit it was a pleasure to seen the initial reaction with the chief of police, and his professionalism. The remainder of the video highlights why the public does not trust the police, is scared of the police and why there is such a disconnect between the public and the police. The postal employees should have been charged with giving false information. At no time did the auditor do anything they accuse him of doing. It was bad enough seeing Office 59 and his behind the scenes attitude, I can only imagine how bad officer # 23 is based on the discussion between Officer #59 and his Lieutenant. Doesn’t sound like the kind of backup an officer hopes for, imagine when the public has to deal with with this woman #23, if her own officers don’t want her around? Scary

It says enough that they don't allow comments on their Facebook page. They have plenty to hide.

I can't say much more than these other reviewers. They've said it all better than I could.

That audit showed them as snakes, to each other and citizens alike. From the chief, all the way down to the responding officers. Grau, Manley, and Rochelle presented themselves as the types of people you hope you never need to rely on, saying one thing to your face, and another thing behind your back.

Creepy and gross behavior. If these officers were representing my city, I would be embarrassed.

Glad to see the other reviews. Officer (Mannley?) badge 59, and (Rishel?) 23, absolute disgrace behind closed doors. This is the problem with officers these days, exaggerating and just completely lying to people. There is video showing that LIA never once tried to get a reaction out of anyone, yet they went around telling everyone that they talked to that he was just trying to escalate the situation. No. It's there, watch it, and get these terrible officers out of here. The chief was amazing though.

I am a Florence resident and was embarrassed today by the childish actions of officer Manly. Truly thought my local police department would behave more professionally. The Chief was the model of a public servant, if only his subordinates acted the same way. Looks like some training is in order!

Why is officer manly not doing his job when citizens ask for a supervisor. And then lying to his lieutenant. Long Island auditor showed what’s really said behind our backs by the police it’s disgusting. I would give a zero if possible

I sure agree with the lady about her complaint of the florence police against her daughter that was pregnant. What was she supposed to do? This was horrible treatment and I think that officer should be dealt with accordingly. He should not be working with the public. People need to be treated with respect. Also, why would the Dr's office not give them the report instead of just calling the police??? Did she have a concealed weapon or something to warrant this?

I am fighting for my 17 yr old daughter's rights that a officer violated pertaining to her health records. We were instructed by Children's Hospital to obtain my daughters up to date medical condition that her OBGYN had on file. She lost her peripheral vision which is VERY ALARMING! HER OBGYN office and the hospital instructed us that everything came back normal for her EKG. Well, it stated right on MYCHART that it was abnormal. THE OBGYN office refused to read my daughter her EKG report, also refused to let her see it, and would not give printout in regards to her condition of the pregnancy. I asked to speak with her supervisor and was instructed to wait in a room for her. They called Florence PD, who # 28 advised us we were leaving without her paperwork Childrens Hospital instructed us to get. He said he personally was denying us the right to get her medical diagnosis & paperwork. that Childrens Hospital instructed us to get. He "claimed" he was recording everything yet they deny our right to review it. I told him my daughter could have a possible bloodclot and need a ambulance, and I would appreciate it if he would act respectful instead of talking over me, yelling at me, while pointing his finger at me while telling me I was a bad mother. I was a bad mother for following Children's Hospital's instructions. The officer looked me and my daughter in the eye and said, noone will be calling a ambulance if you request it. She can walk! I am not going to stop voicing this complaint until they address this police officer, Kevin Duncan #28, misconduct.
The Florence PD recently lost 2 civil rights lawsuits againt this city's police department for violating 2 pregnant officers rights under ADA. I will be filing another complaint with the FEDERAL Level's POLICE MISCONDUCT DEPT, because the ADA department said they can't investigate all the complaints that come in. I called the number on the letter I received in responce to a ADA Civil Rights complaint I made since she was pregnant and underage when the police and her OBGYN railroaded her rights. This could of cost her & her baby's life. I explained to the lady how this cop over stepped his role and the lady told me to send it to the federal police misconduct department. I should file a lawsuit against them, sometimes people only do the right thing when facing forced accountability. Especially, if enough people realize they have rights and their life matters!

This officer knew he had no reason to worry about his actions and the officer with him didn't say a word to him. The office manager wrote in my daughter's file that the officer stayed after we left and claimed my daughter didn't know why I was upset. My daughter was upset with the treatment we received from the officer and the neglect of care from her doctor's office, not to mention the HIPAA violation they all violated. She wanted to file a complaint about how the "cop" treated us then openly lied when he told the office manager she didn't understand why I was upset. She was highly upset of how she was mistreated. Yet, since she was only 17, Florence PD would not allow her to voice her complaint!
She almost died due to her medical issues being swept under "their" rug. I will make sure this never happens to anyone else. She changed doctors and they discovered her heart valves were not functioning properly, she was diagnosed with Severe preeclampsia and she was septic. It's scary when the police personally decide to take citizens medical rights into their own hands. Only Florence Kentucky's PD officer's get away with this type of police misconduct. Afterall, they can't investigate all the complaints that come in!

Police misconduct refers to inappropriate conduct and or illegal actions taken by police officers in connection with their official duties. Police misconduct can lead to a miscarriage of justice and sometimes involves discrimination and or illegal motives of segregation combined as obstruction of justice.

I strongly believe EVERY OFFICER who is responding to a family disturbance should be educated in Narsisstic abuse. It isnt fair or cute when an officer doesn't have the background of a Narcissist. Then even WORSE, comes to a call, BELIEVING the NARCISSISTS LIES, because they are uneducated, uninformed, and basically, ignorant. In my city, everyone is aware, including the judge there of how he is, however, in HIS city (Florence) the police always side with him because hes a great liar, NARCISSIST. The Florence Police have gone as far as to tell me that I NEED HELP, when in REALITY, I've been in counseling due to the abuse of 11 years from my X.

Officer Rochelle is a liar and obviously physically unfit. Why is she doing anything besides desk work?

Just called the cops to come to my work because a car was running for over an hour. Cop finally comes doesn't come inside to talk to me. Went to the wrong person. Then left. Complete embarrassment to the Florence PD.
