Man what great food and home southern comfort food. i loved this place and glad we were in the area and try something new out of my comfort zone! Definitely was worth it!

I found this place just searching Google maps for the area. My Dad and I came across it and I told him we would try it. Upon opening the door we were greeted with a warm welcome. The menu was explained and we ordered. Our food came out quick cooked perfectly. Chicken and waffles were amazing it came with fresh fruit and whipped topping. They even have dessert I got 7 up pound cake it reminds me of my grandmother. The atmosphere was so relaxing and welcoming. YES COME HERE AND EAT!

Wow, wow, wow!!! This woman owned, black owned business in the heart of Downtown Birmingham was all that and a bowl of grits!!

We ordered lunch for a group of six of us. Christie greeted us with a huge smile and some great energy. She was patient and helped us figure out what we wanted and made some very solid recommendations. A few people got fish, so I’m good chicken and waffles, one person had the shrimp and grits… when I tell you, everything was on point… I mean EVERYTHING !!

We had one item that was missing, and the quilt and happily corrected it.

The vibe was chill, but it was packed… The secret is definitely out about where to get a great lunch in Birmingham… At YO’ MAMA’S

I’m a frequent patron, mostly take out, and the one I get most of the time is their chicken & waffle. I like how they cook their chicken, very crispy and so far hasn’t suffered from shrinkflation.

Yo! Yo! Gooood!! The chicken and waffles set me straight for the long day I had ahead of me. Also, the service from start to finish was wonderful! Thanks for being concerned about us wearing all white. Please know that not one piece of food missed our mouths! Lol!

I’ve been several times for lunch and it’s always so good but the hidden gem is their brunch twice a month. I got their pancakes and their homemade syrup would make your tongue want to slap your brain! The link sausage was good but nothing to brag about.

Currently live in the Huntsville area and have made it by here two times now when in town. Both visits have been beyond amazing. Whether you're gluten free or not, visiting here is an absolute must! Some of the best gluten free fried chicken I've had, and there's gluten free desserts - only place I've ever ran across gluten free deep fried oreos! Between two of us, the first visit was chicken and waffles, fried catfish, chocolate cake and the oreos - all GF. This visit was hot chicken sandwiches and more oreos, again, all GF. Amazing food, people and service.. we would be visiting weekly if we were close enough. Pictures are from both visits.

This restaurant was AMAZING! From the food to the service staff, everything was impeccable! I ordered chicken that was seasoned and fried to perfection! The cheese grits were creamy and did not have to have any salt added to them. The pancakes were huge! They have this homemade syrup that is very good with hints of praline or some kind of nut. They served HUGE pancakes! I will definitely return.

Stopped in on 2/19, food was excellent and hot. We both had the chicken and waffles. The chicken wing were seasoned perfectly and the "house" syrup complemented the waffle very well! Service was excellent as well. If ever I'm in B'ham again, I will be sure to stop by here!

Amazing food and gluten-free. I love this place. How have I not found it sooner!

First visit I had the fried catfish and grits. Best fried fish I've ever had. Gluten free or not.

Second visit, I had the hot chicken sandwich. I don't know how they have managed to recreate the Chickfila spicy chicken sandwich and make it gluten free but omg it's so good. The bun was so perfectly soft. The chicken so good and moist and just the right amount of spice. Homemade hand-cut fries!

And did I mention the gluten-free fried oreos! Don't sleep on the fried oreos. Just say yes when she asks. And keep saying yes!

Finally made it here after reading positive reviews. Food was good, fresh and hot. I had the chicken and waffles. Wings were very meaty and waffle was cooked just right. The front waitress was very friendly and seem enthusiastic about being at work and assisting customers. I also had one of their signature juices which was good. Friendly atmosphere and loved the mellow R&B music playing while i ate.

I told the cashier this was my first time here and the cashier said it won't be my last. She made suggestions and I went with the stuffed pork chop special. DELICIOUS! My kids had chicken fingers and chicken and waffles. If course I tasted it all and it was amazing. I'm not from Birmingham but whenever I come back, I will be eating here again. And the cashier was so friendly!

Yipee! Almost Everything is gluten-free. Fried chicken, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, waffles, hamburger bun, DEEP FRIED OREOS!!!!!!!!!
The ultimate junk food prepared gluten-free. I'm in heaven.
Everything tasted good (I didn't have the oreo or the waffle). I had the chicken wings, which were a good size and seasoned well, with French fries. I didn't eat many of the fries because the wings were so good, why waste calories on fries? I also got a side of shrimp with homemade tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was very tasty.
The lemonade was a little too sweet for my taste.

Update: my second visit here, I ordered the fries crispy and was very happy with the results. Tried the deep fried oreo and it was delicious.

I really enjoy this place. It's the only place I buy fried chicken in Birmingham. The gluten free chicken and waffles is my favorite.
Weirdly, last time I went, there was hair baked into one piece of chicken. It was just the one piece, none of the others were like that. It will not affect my review, and I will continue visiting. It's just odd.

We went for lunch one day at work. Let's just say they have a few more customers. Everything was great and Krystal has an amazing attitude. She recommended putting the wing sauce on my greens. Changed my life❤🔥

I have found my new favorite restaurant! We ordered fish tacos with corn tortillas, one fried and one grilled, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and fried Oreos. All of the food was delicious in its own right, but the fact that it was all gluten free makes it astounding! The prices were reasonable, the portions were more than enough, and the flavors were unbelievable. Crystal checked on us and was personable and friendly. We are just blown away. This is a new staple spot for us.

As always amazing ! Food fresh and costumers service is amazing. Cant compare. I’m a loyal costumer. Had the shrimp and grits for the first time amazing. Must try !!!!

When I say I want fried chicken, this is the fried chicken I want!! Cheese grits were good, can’t wait to try their other food items! Nice and friendly staff

Some of the best chicken and waffles I've had in my life were here. Their syrup is amazing too. I'm not a fan of Birmingham in general but I'll come back and can't wait to come back just for here.
