We snuck in early-ish, about 6pm on a Friday evening without a reservation. As we expected, there were no seats available but we were offered bar seating (nearly full) or outside at the sidewalk tables (nearly empty). With the pleasant weather, we opted for outdoors. It was perfect. Those soon filled up too and 15m after we arrived we heard the host tell someone there was now a 2 hour wait. We already had drinks and had ordered our food. Service was fast and excellent. The cocktails were creative, delicious and ONLY $10! These were on par with drinks we've paid $13-15 for at many other places downtown. I tried all 4 we ordered and each was very good. We ordered 3 small plates to share and it was just the right amount of food. Each dish was well prepared and seasoned, served up hot and fast. Our server knew all the food and drinks well, and made thoughtful recommendations. We ordered both desserts on the menu, and they were just as pleasing as the other food and drinks. We both commented that it was one of the best meals we've had in a while, start to finish. I can't wait to return.

Food is always great, portion size is decent not large. Quality and taste is consistent. Always busy, make sure you book before you go. Highly recommend Korean cauliflower, wings. Decent drink selection. Vibrant trendy place. Servers and service has been great all three times I visited but exceptional on the fourth visit. All thanks to Bailey for making it exceptional .

Very busy when we went but we never had to wait to be attended to. The staff was very kind and ready to take our orders or make recommendations. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. Got to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we all had such an amazing time together. Look forward to coming g back soon.

The most perfect rehearsal dinner venue. Many people stopped us afterwards to tell us how good the food was, the service was impeccable, and Mason was behind the bar serving up some fabulous cocktails and was very efficient. So easy when they provide the tv and microphone for slideshow and speeches, all the tables. We did so little decorating because the room was so perfect.

We made a reservation on the Google app and they had the table ready when we walked in. The waitress was very attentive throughout dinner. We all had water and they made sure our glasses were full the whole time. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and my husband ordered the Tempura Fried Soft-Shell Crab. We also had Pork Bao buns as an appetizer. Everything was well cooked with the flavors and texture being just right. I look forward to going back and trying something new in the future.

Freaking delicious, very welcoming atmosphere, and always incredible service. Drinks - bam, food - brakkahkaht! Classy Asian fusion meets hungry stomach - a match made in Heaven.

Fantastic!!! We were torn between several spots in Birmingham and by good luck, stumbled upon East West. What a gem of a restaurant! We enjoyed our meal outside and had a lovely time. Great service with just the right amount of attentiveness. I had the house cabernet, which was light, but enjoyable and my companion enjoyed a craft beer. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps (pictured) to start, which totally hit the spot and gave us an idea of what was to come. Our entrees, which we shared, were the Seared Salmon and the Spicy Garlic Shrimp - both were excellent! In fact, the sear on the salmon was possibly the most perfect we've ever seen. The whole dish was so tasty - WOW!....and the pickled fennel garnish was unique and so unexpectedly yummy! We finished off with Coconut Bread Pudding (also pictured), which completely rounded out our meal. We will definitely return!!!

We enjoyed EastWest even though the staff initially didn't seem to happy to have us there. Eventually we won them over with our charm (perhaps?) and things warmed up a little. The food was absolutely delightful and so were the cocktails. The three of us agreed we would definitely return.

Coming from out of town and researching the perfect spot for Valentine’s Day weekend, I knew this restaurant was the one. I made reservations at 7pm and already knew what I wanted to order. We got there 20 mins early and they were still able to sit us down promptly.

Saturday night was busy, so it was a little loud. But the ambience and decor made up for it. A beautiful mural, red and white Chinese lanterns cascaded across the ceiling, and a red candle on the table added romance.

I ordered the Osaka Spritz drink, and my boyfriend got the Silk Road. Mine was very light…couldn’t tell there was alcohol in it but it was still tasty. But I did like his drink better because it was stronger. However I didn’t come for drinks, I’m all about the food! I was so excited when I saw the menu - they have a great selection of Asian fusion food that sounded mouthwatering. We got the soft shell crab bao, short rib bao, shishito peppers, and Korean fried cauliflower. The short rib bao was delicious- nice caramelization and bold flavor. I just wish the bao was warm. Soft shell crab was good too. The lemon flaky salt on the peppers were the perfect touch. Lastly, the fried cauliflower was delicious also but I just wish it was more crunchy.

All in all, EastWest did not disappoint. I highly recommend it and would definitely go a second time if I ever find myself in Birmingham again!

I love eating here the food is so good, I’ve been here twice and the dishes are very consistent. The restaurant itself is very modern and has a good ambiance. It is recommended to call ahead to reserve a table because it gets really busy at night.

I had an event in the upstairs space at EastWest. The event coordinator Mason was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful through out the entire process. If you need a nice location for a dinner party or small gathering I would recommend you try here. Not only do they have a great menu but there wasn’t an empty cup in sight. The personal bar has everything you may need and you don’t even have to leave the party. Contact Mason for sure if you have any questions, you will not regret it.

Great service, good atmosphere, delicious menu options, well crafted drinks, charming decor, and good location. We came for Tapas Tuesday but found a quaint restaurant that appeals to a wide audience and knows how to prepare food and alcoholic drinks! Will definitely be back.

Very, very tasty! A unique blend of two worlds - east and west, hence the name! This place lives up to it! Taking traditional asian dishes and giving it their own unique pop of flavor and style! My only regret Is that I couldn’t eat more. Tried the pork buns, pork rice bowl, shrimp noodles, shishito peppers, a few drinks and, of course, dessert - the coconut bread pudding was phenomenal. $7 for their cocktails during happy hour was a pretty good deal! I highly recommend the Japanese cocktail (essentially their take on an old fashioned) all this plus spectacular service! If I visit Birmingham again, I will be back!

The duck nachos are 🔥 🔥 🔥 the wings are great and the burger was perfect. And the Pork belly Bao was incredible!! Our waitress was so nice and even had them pre split the burger and fries for us. Then they brought us an extra Bao just because, it was great! So much food and all of it was perfect!

Love this place. Crowded when I was there. Staffs are extremely friendly and nice!! Warm and welcoming! Fast serving, Whiskey Wednesday so whiskey drink specials on Wednesday. Love the Korean flavor foods. Bowels are so good, especially cucumber kimchi! Definitely recommend.

Great atmosphere. The selection is very cool and all the dishes going by looked delicious. Staff is very attentive and helpful and the drinks are excellent. The west wings are 10/10 for double fried wings 👍🏻 will be back.

Great food and drinks. My son and I decided to try this spot while in town and were quite blown away. We got here and the place was packed. We only had to wait outside for 15 mins before we were seated though. Staff was really friendly and welcoming. Seemed like they enjoy their jobs which makes dining out always a plus. The atmosphere is really cool, has a good vibe. The fried cauliflower is fantastic quite arguably one of the best fried things I have ever eaten. I can't understand how they get it so crunchy on the outside and perfectly creamy inside. Mongolian rib eye was cooked perfect and also quite delicious. Wish we were local.

It was my first visit and the food was great! I had the Katsu chicken for my main course and it was delicious. The fried cauliflower melted in my mouth! I was also pleased with my drink, and I'm not a Whiskey drinker, but it was Whiskey Wednesday! The atmosphere and customer service was great as well! I will definitely be back!!!!

Quaint downtown spot. Hubby brought me here for a first stop on date night. I wasn't really wowed by the small menu so he ordered a couple things and I was pleasantly surprised. We got lettuce wrap... very tasty. A Pork belly and a beef short rib bao bun, they were also very good. We split an orange beef rice bowl (which the kitchen served in two smaller bowls for us) this too had a fantastic flavor. The atmosphere was vibrant, but not too noisy even though they were almost full.
