Merrick Animal Hospital

Staff is very competent and friendly. Asked lots of questions about my dog to determine her health and any possible problems. They were very patient with my excitable dog and took great care of her.

We have been going to Merrick for a few years for our senior pup, and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences there. The staff and vets are so lovely and kind. Dr. Horowitz is really the best and explains and answers questions very thoroughly and thoughtfully. They are very up front about costs and treatments and the pricing is fair. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a vet in the near western suburbs.

Merrick is the best. We see Dr. Horowitz mainly and he has been great with all of our animals. Especially our dog Rosie who has been through the ringer dealing with serious health issues. I know she wouldn't be here with us if not for Dr. Horowitz and the team at Merrick. Everyone there is very kind and compassionate and helpful with whatever questions or concerns we have had in the past.

I have been bringing my dog here for 6 years now and always feel comfortable they do a great exam and help keep my vet shy dog as calm as possible and are very gentle with him. Wonderful place to bring your pet and the staff is friendly and helpful.

We recently took our senior dog to Merrick for a second opinion on her mobility issues. Their new veterinarian took the time to listen to our concerns and then did a thorough exam of our pet. She prescribed a monthly shot of Librela, which was recently FDA approved, for osteoarthritis pain. I love the fact that she was knowledgeable about new treatment options. We couldn't have been more happy with how we and our pet were treated at Merrick.

I bring all of my cats here, recently adopted my girl cat from there, and all I have to say is the staff is completely professional.
And, they are all friendly, and welcoming. I love the fact that when I arrive for my appointments, they take me almost right away. (Some places you're sitting and waiting 20-30 mins)
I feel a sense of trust when I bring my animals here and they are all animal lovers themselves. Price wise: I would say it is completely rational, I never once go there and think I am over paying. I recommend this place to anyone in the Brookfield/LaGrange/Countryside/LaGrange Park/Lyons area

Been taking one of my dogs here for years and just started bringing my other new dog as well. I've always loved how great the team is. Front desk is always very cheerful and friendly and their techs and assistans are very sweet as well. Dr. Horowitz is amazing, always listens and takes his time with my pets.
It's the only place where I don't feel rushed and know that they are listening to me. 100% recommend.

My puppy had a laparoscopic spay surgery. The same day home and eating :), 2 tiny incisions that healed completely in 5 days. Happy and would highly recommend!

Extremely friendly staff who is not only willing to patiently explain about anything you'd want to know about your pet, they are amazing with the animals, which is what really matters. Also, the office pets are just great. Their giant French poodle has just the right name... If only I could remember it!

Fantastic staff, they are so warm and welcoming. Both of dogs have no fear going in for a checkup. Highly recommended!

Merrick is a caring facility and Dr. Horowitz is a first-rate vet. I trust my cat's (Cassie) care to his expertise, and I'm not one who easily trusts.

I had a wonderful experience at Merrick! I have gone to a few other vets in the area over the years and this is the first one where I left feeling confident and happy in my experience! Dr Horowitz is incredibly knowledgeable, every employee I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. They treated myself and my dog like a part of their family. My visit was timely, I did not have to wait long, I feel like I was heard as I was speaking my concerns, and Dr H gave us a plan for my pup moving forward. I cannot recommend Merrick enough!

Love this place. We have been to several hospitals and didn't like they way we and our animals were treated so we started looking for another doctor offices. We decided to try Merrick and our boys love them! Both my dogs are special needs boys and we go often. When we walk in the boys get happy. They love the nurses/techs and they love my boys back. I'm able to go in to the office with them and the doctors are very well in telling me any issues.

We have been taking our dog Echo to Merrick since we adopted her 7 years ago and have been very happy with everyone involved in her care. I am most grateful for how they helped us control her allergy issue which caused numerous ear infections. Would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.

This place has been great for my dog, Dingo. He is not very good with strangers. We have been doing happy visits and he is warming up to the staff. I also bring my cats here but it has been only annuals. Last time they didn't hiss and for one that's not usual. I really love this animal hospital. Everyone here is very caring and definitely love animals quite a lot. Thanks for everything!

The folks at Merrick were kind and compassionate with my sick pup. I had been at an emergency vet over the weekend who wanted to put my 10.5yr old shepherd down, and Dr. Hosek, said that antibiotics should fix the problem. Now, 3 days later, she is nearly back to normal!! I am so relieved and pleased with the services I received. Thank you MERRICK ANIMAL HOSPITAL!

I’ve been taking my dog to Merrick for a while now, and they are wonderful! When I had to put my cat down last year doctor Sullivan let me sit with him and gave me as much time as I needed with him. They made a heartbreaking moment a little easier with their genuine compassion for me and for my sweet sir. I recommend them to all of my friends who have pets!
