A wonderful spot and an ecologically very important piece of natural land. Great place for a walk, any time of year. Pro tip: wear boots or shoes that can get dirty, as there may be muddy/wet spots. You're going for a walk through some natural areas, so don't expect crushed gravel paths. The southern section has 100-year-old relics of sidewalks, but nature is reclaiming the land, so appreciate the power of nature and the history of the area in which you're walking. Great spot for birdwatching!!!

Largest black soil prairie east of the Mississippi. Of the prairies I have visited, this is one of the best with great diversity and minimal invasives. Development plans were abandoned after sidewalks were put in, making for nice paths.

Great place for photography considering it's sandwiched in the suburbs of Chicago. Great for kids and adults to learn about what Illinois used to be like before urbanization

Nature lovers. birders, and kids will love this place.Stop by an get a calendar of events, we've got Save the Prarie Society to thank for saving this precious land for our childrens children. This is what much of Illinois looked like before the invasion of
