My wife and I have been going there the past 3 years. The food has always been great!! The staff is always great! Busy sometimes, but Great nonetheless. The Friday fish fry is awesome

We’ve been driving past the Riverview for years. Today, we had a taste for excellent broasted chicken and we found that at the Riverview Restaurant and Tavern. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed, seated and served. Friendly service, large portions, fair prices. Next time, I’m going to try the ribs and pizza.

This place is a must try! The food was incredible. I had the cheese fry and artichoke app both were very good. The server Cody made all the recommendations for the food and it was all delicious. The chicken was everything you hear and read. The clazone/panzaninni was giant! Cody said it was as big as an NFL football and he wasn't kidding. Portions are massive for the price.

Had a late lunch with my son at Riverview in Algonquin Saturday. There were a handful of people in the bar area and, no one in the restaurant which was nice.

I couldn't decide what to order but, I finally settled on the Roasted Turkey dinner. For me, this meal will feed me for THREE days (maybe two).

We did order some potato skins to start (without the ground beef). I only had 1 1/2 which really wasn't filling and, even so, I was only able to eat 1/3 of the turkey meal. You really get a lot of food.

This meal had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans and, a dinner roll.

I think the turkey could have been seasoned a bit but, overall, it was a decent meal. They have other good choices to choose from.

Just picked up a medium meat lovers pizza with mushrooms. It was cooked to perfection It was one of the best pizzas we've had thank you.

I regret ever coming here... well kinda. My point is this place has ruined all other pizza places for me... and I've gone to A LOT of pizza places. Now I can't go anywhere else. This is 8 miles away. Do you know how many pizza places I pass on the way to here? 7!
Seriously be forewarned you try it here and you will not want pizza anywhere else.

Usually on a Saturday afternoon we like to go to a bar or restaurant, one of our favorites in Barrington Hills was purchased by new owners, no offense but its become too kid friendly/gastro pubish. So we looked for a new place that was not to far to drive if we had a drink, we both passed this place 1M times and decided to give it a try last week. What a hidden gem, it was like a glitch in the Matrix, this is what a bar should be. We were the only folks in to start and the bartender made us feel welcomed, the drinks were great and I had probably the best burger Ive had since we moved here 9yrs ago. Also helps the bartender is a fellow musician-drummer so the guy was very cool. The atmosphere was bar, not a place with kids and families around so you don't need to watch what you say or endure someones little darling screaming while you are trying to get your drink on. The place is clean, my husband said the restrooms were also very clean, the bar has plenty of seating, there are tables and outdoor seating available. This is not Michelin fine dining by any stretch, but if you are looking for a cool neighborhood bar that does not cater to families, i.e. a adult space this is it. We will be back to try the Pizza.

Went there yesterday, short staffed, no server, the bartender did double duty as our server too. Hats off to a hard working staff.

After years of passing by this place I finally decided to stop here with a friend. It was a Friday evening and boy was I in for a (pleasant) surprise! Felt like I was walking into a cross between a family event and a neighborhood hangout. People were top notch, service was tier 1, and the drinks were on point. I did not have the food, but I regretted eating an hour before. Everyone around me was ordering food and it was looking fantastic. I will be returning. Returning for the food, the vibe, and the drinks.

I cannot overstate how excellent my experience was here. The food, the customer service, the atmosphere, all of it 10/10 fantastic. I'm frankly astonished it wasn't busier when we came in, we were the only ones there but it feels like such an amazing restaurant it's crazy it isn't completely full.

The server Carol was so accommodating for our baby, giving her a plate and crackers and an extra napkin, all unprompted. She gave us complimentary beer nuggets as an appetizer which was sooo delicious. Then when the food came out, it was some of the best pizza and certainly the best fish fry I have ever had. And a big portion of it, too! I was just so impressed.

Anyway, shout out to Carol and the chefs at Riverview. This place is amazing and definitely deserves way more business than it has. Very much a family vibe and feels cozy and nice and well cared for as a business. The people who work here love it here and you can tell. I hope their business does well.

Edit to add: other reviewers saying service is slow, and yeah, that's because they're making the food fresh and taking their time to do it right. Slow service is a good thing when it comes to food this good. It's not a good place to go if you're in a hurry, but it's an amazing place to go if you want an excellent dining experience.

Been eating here for years, I had a Monterey ranch chicken foldover and my wife had the fish and chicken special. Both were delicious. If you're in the area I recommend checking this place out. Plus the beer nuggets are a great plus!

Easily one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant, period. Had no idea this place existed, so glad to have found it. Ordered the pizza, was amazing. Complimentary "beer nuggets" were awesome. Waitress Carol was great with the one-year-old. Can't wait to come back.

The broasted chicken dinner is so good here we really enjoyed ourselves.

Their chicken Caesar salad is fantastic. The dressing is lighter than other Caesar’s and it’s always so fresh with tomatoes, cucumbers and onions - I love the crunch! The pizza is so great too, always fresh!!

While visiting family in the area we decided to have dinner at the Riverview Restaurant & Tavern in Algonquin. We're glad we did! Carol, our server, was very attentive and made sure we had a good time.

We ordered soup, salad, pizza and dessert. The soup was Cream of Chicken and Rice soup. The soup was so delicious! The soup was very creamy and had good portion of chicken in it. It's been such a long time since we've had this type of soup. Brought back memories to when we were kids.

The salad was freshly made and was ordered with homemade garlic dressing. Yum! Yum!

We ordered the Barbecue Pizza and a thin crust with sausage, green olives and hot giardiniera. Both pizzas were very tasty and served piping hot right out of the oven.

We decided not to overdo dinner because we wanted dessert. Boy...Oh boy! We chose the carrot cake, which was outstanding! The carrot cake had such a fresh taste to it. The cream cheese frosting was not overly sweet and complimented the carrot cake very well.

We'll be able to enjoy another meal of this great food as there was plenty of leftovers to take home.

I know I'll be visiting the Riverview Restaurant & Tavern again next time I'm in the area.

Have ordered from Riverview a few times now. Really enjoy the regular and bbq Broasted chicken but our favorite thing is the BLT pizza. So yummy. Will continue to be a customer!

Our waitress Carol was amazing! Food was delicious...fish had a good crispy batter & large portion of fish, the river monster sandwich with sweet peppers and aus jus will leave your mouth watery for more. Definitely recommend!

Tried the Sicilian Mess pizza. It was completely awesome! Definitely my all time favorite pizza. Did carryout but may dine in next time.

First time we ordered from here..so good!! The riverview steak sandwich was amazing, it wasn’t greasy the bread was soft and fresh. Italian chicken parmigiana was delicious!! Food came hot. I was so impressed by their food I actually called and told them how amazing the food was!!
