Richard Morrissey Park

Great park! Have pics. Thought it was only the main playground, but there is another one up top for toddlers. The playground toys are great! 2 full size shelters. Tennis court and half a basketball court. Full sidewalk around and goes by traintracks and a lake. And double swings around the whole park.

A rather nice park located between North Pekin, IL and Pekin, IL.

As with a lot of thing in life, we drive by many places without ever knowing what they are. This is one of those places til recently. Obviously, it’s a park but it offers a bit more than meets the eye.

There is a playground, sandy play area, pavilions, grills, a near-mile perimeter path that crosses a bridge, basketball courts and some sports fields. The playground is in great shape and looks fun most ages. You could easily host a birthday party here and have plenty to do for everyone.

The perimeter trail is really nice. I walked a good chunk of it and I enjoyed it. There is a small red bridge that you cross that adds some character to the park as well. According to some news sites, they just recently installed a nice clock in the parking lot.

On the surface, it looks like a playground with a pavilion as you drive by, but once you stop and look around, you see a much bigger park that offers a lot to people of all ages.

I couldn’t quite pin down an address for this place, but it is right across the road from Fort’s Toyota of Pekin.

Pros:Fun little area for parents and their children to play and enjoy the outdoors!! Convenient location.
Cons: NO PUBLIC RESTROOM ACCESS!!!!!

My granddaughter had a baby shower there 4 years ago. We used the pavilion and were very satisfied. Plenty of playground room for the kids. Didn't use the restroom while there, so can't rate that. Lot of shade trees. Nice little park.

Beautiful park! 2 large picnic shelters available to reserve if you're having a gathering. Never very busy, so you most likely wouldn't have to reserve a shelter. I always do just to be safe. Shelters have outlets so you can plug in radios, cookers, etc. Bathrooms are spacious and clean. Upper part of park has restrooms and playground equipment for younger children. Lower part has playground equipment for older children. Both are connected and the walk to the restrooms isn't that far if you're at the lower shelter. Basketball court. Fair amount of parking in both areas. Great place for a party, family reunion, etc!

My extended family have their reunion and other events there. Not a place for buses ad the road has some seriously sharp turns and hills.

Great place for gatherings! Two shelters with two playgrounds for the kiddos, a basketball court, bathrooms, & grills in lots of places. There's a pretty little covered bridge too.

We have our family reunion here every year. There is a covered pavilion and restrooms nearby and plenty for the young kids to keep themselves occupied.
