Scenic waterfront spot on Orr's Island for laid-back outdoor dining or meals to go. Chowders, seafood, sandwiches, wraps, chips, deserts, drinks, merch and more. The waterfront dining location of Salt Cod Cafe makes this a FIVE STAR stop!

The only game in town for a close breakfast when staying on Orr's Island. The homemade bread and scones are so awesome.

The lobster roll wasn’t impressive, but the clam chowder was outstanding and the scones were out of this world!!!! I’ve never had such scrumptious, & delicate scone! If we ever go back to Maine, Salt Cod Cafe will be my #1 destination.

This is THE place to get breakfast on Bailey and Orrs. They are open seasonally and do get very busy at the height of summer, so don't wait too long to grab food in the morning.

A local woman makes all the baked goods and I honestly have never had a pastry there that I didn't like. That being said, the cinnamon scones are my favorite. The breakfast sandwiches are also tasty.

There is a dock along the backside of the cafe with ocean views and seating. All around great place.

Right at the bridge, connected to H2Outfitters on Orr's Island. What a gem. Patient staff, excellent food, reasonable prices, and a great place outside to catch up on your appetite or pack a picnic to go. The staff was helpful, courteous, and efficient. And the view was excellent. It's a quiet, unremarkable, yet utterly remarkable spot that makes coastal Maine Maine. Delicious, great offerings, excellent.

Lovely, homey, local vibe. We love the muffins, scones and pies! Sandwiches, too! Draws a crowd on weekend mornings. Nice, honest, un-spoiled mom-and-pop operation providing homebaked goodness in everything they offer.

You won't find a better scone anywhere. Breakfast sandwich was terrific and staff was friendly and competent. Seriously, if you want to know how a scone should taste, try these. As a bonus, nice outside area and a deck is a great spot to enjoy your meal.

This place is amazing! Sweet people and very warming. The scenery while waiting for food is great. Sit by the water and food was done within 2 minutes. The food was amazing. Kid friendly and the people there are nice. Even the little shop, H20, was great! A must go to after or before you go to the beach.

The breakie sammies here are so good! Think we has one every morning of our stay. The blueberry muffins are delicious too. Enjoy the view on the back deck if you can. Maine eating at its finest!

A very small cafe on the bay with plenty of outdoor seating and ocean views. They are known for their chowders (seafood, clam, corn and fish) and their fresh homemade bread (white, wheat and molasses oat). The prices are reasonable and they have a great selection of sandwiches to grab on your way to the beach.

If you are wondering if it is worth driving down to the tip of Orr's Island for the Salt Cod Cafe, just do it. We tried the clam and the fish chowder. Both were great and if you are unclear on how these chowders differ, now's your chance to see how it's done and compare. If you are a scone aficionado or would like to be, this is place to go. Easily the best scones I have ever had, which agrees with the local consensus.
It appears from other reviews that wait times can be long. This was not our experience, but it's good to arrive at an off time and not be in a hurry. It's a picturesque location...enjoy the scenery while you wait.

We always look forward to this place opening for summer. Great food including the best wild blueberry pie anywhere. Good chowder, crab and lobster rolls. Super!

This is a real gem in Harpswell, especially if you are an early riser and a decent cup of coffee is your first order of the day. The scone simply has no match anywhere else I know of. the outside surrounding is heavenly. Sitting a few feet away from the ocean water, under Maine's summer morning sun, with a coffee and a few scones, it is as good it gets in anyone's life:) The service was good. The young ladies did not give us much a smile in the first couple of days. However, after the third visit, we became acquainted and had lovely talks. I really miss the place......

Lovely food, very very expensive if you're not used to Maine prices. Lobster roll and chowder combo $36.

Not your ordinary scone. I loved the blueberry and the lemon. Blueberry pie was amongst the best pies ever. Almost as good as grandma’s peach cobbler. Bought a bunch of scones to bring home to Arkansas. Not a one made it. My highest recommendation.

Nice for lunch. Great pies, muffins and scones to! There's also a generous porch and picnic tables right on the water. Try the large coffee, you'll be surprised. The prices are very reasonable and the views alone are worth the visit.

Simple local made fare. Crab rolls were just crab meat and butter, our choice, and terrific. Large bag of delicious local chips. Some interesting sodas.

Very easy website to order food online and choose the pickup time. You can even specify how many creams in your coffee. Food very good as well. Decent prices for oceanfront
