Bailey Island General Store

If I could rate this general store 5.7 billion stars out of 5 I would. The folks that work there are as kind as can be, and the food they offer is top notch. During our stay on Bailey island, my girlfriend and I had their breakfast sandwich, pancake breakfast with eggs, their steak bomb sandwich, pastrami sandwich, and Reuben sandwich, all of which were superb. We loved this place so much that we both bought merchandise to remember the place. Very affordable too!! Definitely go here if you can!

Friendly staff and great pastrami sandwiches. The good news is they have gluten free bread and pizza too! Worth a visit if you are in the area. Your classic Maine general store.

I’ve been going to Bailey island every summer for 40+ years and it doesn’t ever sink in that we’re back until we stop, that first full day, for our pancake at BIGS. A pancake that fills a small pizza box. 😳 😂 BIGS is the heart of Bailey island and you can’t miss stopping by for a sandwich or a pizza during you visit. In honor of it’s general store roots: You can also grab an extension cord, some light bulbs and a bottle of wine while you’re there.

They have an impressive selection of items and necessities for such a small place on a small island. Beer, wine, smokes, ATM, a restaurant, fire wood, snacks, staple foods, toiletries, and more.

We found a can of bright spray paint on the bottom corner shelf and it was exactly what we needed. Thank you

Convenient for essential items. Saves a trip into town. They serve prepared foods also but have not tried any.

Fantastic food. I ordered a double cheeseburger and it was like Five Guys or better. Everyone I've met there has been very nice and welcoming.

My mom and I took a vacation up the East Coast, and our Airbnb hosts recommended we stop here for blueberry pancakes. They were absolutely incredible. The store was no-frills, but the pancakes were to die for. We also found these amazing sand dollar necklaces as souvenirs. A great stop.

best burger ive ever had in my life!! small selection limited menu but everyone can find something they like, staff is so friendly and nice. prices are cheap unlike most touristy areas i got a water and it didn't make my wallet cry, every time im in the area it will be my go to eat spot!

I could sit there for hours watching and listening to the authentic goodwill with interactions with customers....workmen, lobstermen, and other locals. Very friendly! Very helpful! Lovely food prepared with love. If you're in Bailey Island, I hope you afford yourself this experience.

The best lobster roll you’ve ever had, simple golden grilled roll with iceberg lettuce and just a touch of mayo, comes with chips and a tasty pickle. If that’s not your style, the steak bomb is amazing. Breakfast pancakes are as big as your head.

Surprise surprise went out from Portland to do breakfast somewhere else, finally became hungry and only place was here. Good coffee, pancake was very good bacon was good, breakfast sandwich was also good. Its a true general store. If your in area good alternative for breakfast. Reasonably priced

I eat a BLT Sandwich every day while I've been working on the Local Bowdoin College outpost, Sandwiches were AMAZING, great staff, hard working, 1-3 workers at a time during lunch. Would recommend coming to this store if you’re ever in the area.

Somehow they always have what we need. Maybe that's because it now sells liquor in addition to a robust beer and wine selection. Home cooking style breakfast, lunch - amazing soups - and a pizza you just can't beat for taste, price and convenience. The family that owns and runs BIGS are wonderful, warm and helpful!

Great country store! The pizza is great, my husband had red hot dogs and he liked those too. Food, drinks and locals. Awesome!

Can we say Lobstah Roll! Always love coming to BIGs at least once a week during our summer visits. Good easy food for breakfast and great sandwiches for lunch. Get your steamed Red Dogs here too!!
