Laker Shakes Burdickville Market

I’ve been going to the Glen Arbor area for about 30 years and somehow have managed to overlook this place. I’m glad I finally found it! My family would normally get ice cream in Glen Arbor but the town has swelled over the years and is no longer as enjoyable to visit. Laker Shakes wasn’t overly busy and the shaded sitting area was a nice place to enjoy a nice treat. Prices are definitely on the expensive side but worth the splurge. I would recommend that everyone visit but I don’t want to encourage a crowd 😉

This place is amazing! The ice cream was beyond delicious and I loved the story of how it is all locally made from the Traverse area. Jeremiah was incredibly helpful during our visit. When we visited, we were the only ones in the space. Jeremiah explained the area and special/best hikes for the Sleeping Bear Dunes area as well as the best shoes to wear for the dunes (none). As soon as we walked back to our car, 4 more pulled in. Glad we got there when we did and will be back for sure!

Came here for ice cream with the family. I expected the more gourmet flavors to be as good as they were, but the vanilla, wow! I was not expecting it to be as delicious as it was! Best ice cream ever!
The employee working tonight was very polite amd friendly too. Would come again and highly recommend!

Laker Shakes is like the general store of old - with the twist of modern choices. Great ice cream, beer, wine, essentials for your kitchen or bbq and a lot more. The nice outdoor area is great to enjoy after a day at the lake or a long bike ride.

Excellent customer service. I appreciate the masks and social distance precautions. Hot dog was delish! Lots of great snacks and drinks around the shop, too!

Good coffee, great place to stop for quick bite nice out seating, Perfect distance if you are biking out from Traverse City for a bite. The cherry chicken salad and the egg salad sandwiches were very good.

The owner drove my school bus to Middle school. Thanks for the memories. Great ice cream too. I took my wife here after our honeymoon.

A lovely little store that's a great place for a quick stop. They have moomers, which is a plus, and pastries as well as sandwiches. Within walking distance of a park too.

This has always been a great place to go ever since i was a child,, The owner at that time Mr Hargraves (sorry if that ain't right) did everything for his customers and we were all happy, keep up the good work everyone

My favorite place for ice cream around Glen Lake. They use great hot fudge.

Love it here. We walk down at least twice a day while up here on vacation. They have almost everything here!!!
