It has been years since my wife and I have dined in at DC2. The hype after its first opening seems to have died down. Usually when asked about DC2's food, folks seem to have mixed reviews. So because we were around in the area yesterday, we decided to give it a try to see what has changed.

The menu seems about the same, with a few less items. The biggest change is the prices, which definitely is dollars more than it use to. Understanding with economy/inflation, pricing up is eventually going to happen. But is it worth really spending about $5-$10 on dishes where you can go a few blocks over to Hmong Village for cheaper?

We ordered the combination pad thai (big noodles), papaya salad (Thai med spicy), and hli xiab (fried pork with tamarind sauce). I was always a big fan of the pad thai sauce from DC2, which seems to be the same as I remember it. However, the noodles are a bit thicker, like chow fun noodles. It was soft, feels homemade, and paired very well with the sauce & meats. The papaya salad was not overly sauced, and tasted very fresh. It had just the right amount of spiciness, sweetness, and sourness for both my wife and I. The hli xiab was a dish we have not tried before, and did very much enjoy. You pick a choice of meat which is stir fried with a sweet tamarind sauce accompanied with bell peppers and onions. There is an option to add spiciness, which we did do. We chose pork which was first fried, then cooked with the sauce and veggies. If you love sweet like in orange chicken, then this is the dish for you!

The service was great, much better then I remember it. We were seated immediately, and the waiter was attentive. They also have a call system button now which you can click to ask for something or add things too.

Overall, I was very impressed with DC2 and will come again. To go back on my question, I would rather spend few more dollars here then go to Hmong Village.

The beef brisket and Thai style papaya salad is why I come here! The food is delicious and the staff is always kind. I love the updates they’ve made!

First time back here since I moved out-of-state a few years ago. Service was great and we got our apps & food pretty quickly. Everything tasted as good as I remember! They’re combo pho continues to be my favorite!

First time at this location. I was very impressed. Great customer service. They were very prompt and attentive. We ordered 2 large pho. Omg, the bowls were HUGE! And for only $8.99! I was shocked. The true test was the broth taste test. I scooped it up and sipped. Wow, it was good! I did taste that it was seasoned with fish sauce, but I honestly don't mind because that means I don't need to add that. I love my pho spicy and with lots of crushed peanuts. And they had real crushed peanuts!!! I was so happy to have that. Not many places offer that. That was a nice surprise. They loaded the pho up! No joke, so much meat, meatballs, shrimp, fried pork belly, and more. This place is not stingy with their portions at all. Overall, yes I would definitely come back and bring my kids next time as well.

I’m extremely disappointed at the jealous attacks on this site by competitors and their friends and family. This place has excellent food! The service is quick and staff is very friendly for the most part. If you look at negative reviews for this restaurant you will notice a pattern. This place deserves 4.5 stars. They do need to fix the bathrooms and the egg rolls aren’t very good but other than that this is a great place to go for authentic and tasty South East Asian cuisine!

I really do not know why people give it such a bad review sometimes.
I go here regularly for pho! Their beef brisket pho in particular. Other than that, I absolutely love the beef namtok. My kids also really enjoy the beef meatballs and..... Some sort of sweet and sour tamarind chicken. I really loved the eggrolls, too, until I stopped eating pork.
Some suggestions would be to add some more regular drinks and maybe vegetables egg rolls as well as regular ones.

Customer service got better! My husband loves their pho over any other pho restaurants! We live 30 minutes out but always try to come here when our pho craving start kicking in.

The large chicken pho was somehow unfulfilling, but the meat dish with sausage, brisket, and pork belly hit the spot. The cream cheese wontons and the laab are also really good. The rest of the menu is a pretty good mix of Hmong and Thai dishes.

The food there is awesome, the owners are great and friendly people! Downfall is sometime you have to wait and their customers service kind of suck. Sorry to say but truth be told! I experienced where my friends and I did not receive any water/drinks but we got our food. Another time my boyfriend and I had to wait about 10 mins to get someones attention that we are ready to order. But I still support the owners and go there because their foods are super bomb. Best place to go for food variety. They brought this new dish over from Thailand, and it was da bomb! Love their spring rolls, and I love that they opened a bar too! Look forward to going again.
