King's City chinese and sushi

Probably some of the best cream cheese wontons I ever tasted..was told they are made fresh daily here. Got the sesame entree which can feed two people. Sushi was some of the best I've tasted as well. They serve sake and other alcohol beverages. Loved the small cozy atmosphere and friendly server. Definitely will be returning! Can order take out as well .

Love it here!! Jagger is the best server!! He knows exactly what to offer if you're looking for anything specific! We love getting the oysters here everytime we come. (Beware though, it's spicy. You can ask to have the pepper on the side instead of on the oysters)

Their food is pretty good and they do a good job of providing unique dishes that change every now and then. It's a small place so you'll have to make reservations ahead of time or be willing to wait.

This place has an amazing array of food choices from stir fry, shushi, an assortment of entrees, pho, and alcohol. Their spicy food is level asian spicy, so if you can handle spice, I would recommend trying their spicy dishes or even asking to make it spicy because they will.

We were in town and decided to stop in. From the outside the restaurant looked little but don't let that fool your taste buds. There were a great variety of delicious sushi, Chinese and southeast Asian dishes, enough to please everyone in your groups palette. The restaurant is really busy, we also saw lots of food order pick up's.

The service was great even for our party of 10, which we called ahead and made reservations for. We had the pleasure of meeting the 2 brothers that owned the restaurant, Teng Ly who is the chef & Futchy Ly who is the sushi chef. They are really great, hard working & wonderful people!

The portions are pretty big so pricing is fair. The entree's are served family style. The flavors of the food were big and on point and you will go home stuffed. We ordered a lot more entrees but the food was so delicious, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of them before they got devoured!

Everything was perfect, our party was pleased. We will definitely be stopping in every time we can, when we are in town.

The sushi was phenomenal and the service was A+! For a small restaurant they certainly have plenty to offer in their diverse menu. This place has changed so much since the last time I was here about 5 years ago. Bright atmosphere and beautiful decor really bring out the charm of a family owned business. Can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious food!

I've been coming here for lunch. Let me tell you. It's GOOD. There has not been a time where I came here and was like, eh. Not bad. Every time I have been here, it had been fire. Legit. Fire. Teng and the family can run it and really kick out AMAZING dishes. My go to would be the Seafood Larb and the Lamb chops. Everything I have ordered from the menu has been amazing.

Their sushi is super AMAZING. The cuts of fish is super, SUPER, clean and just how I would imagine what it should be. You can actually taste the fish without the fishy taste. If that makes sense.

Gluten friendly menu options. But, please be weary & ensure your server & the BOH understands your dietary needs & what precisely you cannot have. There is often a language barrier in Asian restaurants & to be honest, not all Asian cultures respect & acknowledge that there are REAL dietary concerns (e.g. celiac disease) out there.
A lot of the language barriers prevent the proper exchange & understanding of *what gluten is-e.g. wheat, barley, malt, rye etc.*

Always excellent & prompt service from Kailou, Niel & Ghengis. Unlike a lot of franchises such as Bdubbs & Red Lobster (particularly in Maplehood), the service is always good & attentive. However, having been here a handful of times now, I’ve come to observe the owner, a 30 something who looks like he’s in his 60s, may be prejudice against mixed race couples & blacks. We’ve observed him visiting with other (all Asian) tables every time we’ve dined in & spend time chatting with these patrons. On October 31, 2023 around our 1500 hours visit, he was taking sake shots with a table next to us & never acknowledged the black individual dining alone nor us.
If the food wasn’t good, & the young servers here (unlike other young servers elsewhere) weren’t so great, I probably wouldn’t support the establishment.

& let’s not lie to ourselves here. Sorry for throwing my fellow Asians under the bus, but the older ones, specially Lao & Hmong, don’t like persons of color. So don’t put out a response like it’s not true.

As soon as I walked in I was caught by surprise as to how inviting the atmosphere was and I instantly thought next time I'm eating here. Staff was amazing and friendly, I told him based on the atmosphere & amazing customer interaction it's a 5 star review.

Fast forward 20 minutes to when I'm home and start eating, this is the best Chinese food I've ever had, it was so good and that's really all there is to say. Highly recommend

Had not stopped here after the new owners took over (3 years ago). I regret not coming sooner. Place is brighter, and staff is very friendly! New adds to the menu are great! Had a great evening and will bring many others with me!

We ordered the Beef fried rice, Extra Spicy chicken wings, Oysters and the Scallop & Tuna Tataki appetizer.

Beef fried rice: Not plain and was filled with a alot of beef. 5/5
Extra spicy chicken wings: Taste like a mix of buffalo sauce and sweet and sour sauce 5/5
Oysters: Reasonably price and was clean. Love how they were not greedy with providing extra lemons so you can put extra if you want 5/5
Scallop & Tuna tataki: It was my least favorite but still pretty good. Next time i will probably ask for a side of lemon. If you do not like wasabi, i would not get it bc it had a wasabi flavor and effect 😂 3.8/5

Overall experience: Restaurant and bathroom was clean. The staff was friendly and food came out fast. The cook (might be the owner) came to talk to us which was a plus. Made us feel like we were eating at a family's place. Our server was sweet and attentive. Definitely our new go to asian restaurant since there is not a good one in the Vadnais Heights area. Worth a shot if you are near by.

First time here! Food was pretty good especially the sushi. We had the King’s City sushi roll. The other food was better than expected. Family owned. Was pretty quiet with soft music. We were the first people there and the place was very clean inside. Would definitely go back.

We came here for the first time. We ate the pho combo, salmon salad, and beef. They are delicious and fresh tasting. The beef is very tender and soft. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere with friendly staff and awesome customer service.

Great place to get pho and other kinds of viet and Chinese food! Owners and customer service 5 stars!

Awesome place to eat out plus food is really delicious i will recommended people, family members and friends to come here the pho is really good the flavor of the pho ill give a 9.5 and all the other dish are delicious. ( IF YOU LIVE BY THIS PLACE IT A MUST TRY. )

Excellent food. Fresh quality ingredients and the chefs did amazing job with everything! Loved the spicy Laab chicken wings, the sushi. Definitely recommend and I will be back.

The food was on point! My kids and I enjoyed everything we ordered. The oysters were fantastic! The staff was super friendly and cooks came out to see how everything was tasting! Will definitely be returning soon!

Lived in the area most of my life and for some reason I always thought the building was abandoned, just a remnant of an old Chinese restaurant. Recently heard there was new ownership and renovation by a local sushi chef so I stopped in on a special occasion to check it out. It was good and service was friendly. Menu seemed to be a mix of Sushi, Southeast Asian, Korean cuisines as well as Chinese takeout. Pretty cool to have an Asian fusion restaurant in town so hope to come back to try the other items.

The sushi rolls are delicious! I am not a oyster person but I liked their east coast oyster. The owner was very friendly. He made sure to come and check on us and every other customer. Will go again!
