10 out of 10! Stopped by this charming small corner spot for breakfast! I had the corn bread bubble waffle with NY pure maple syrup and a side of bacon. It was so DELICIOUS! The owner, Jeff, is friendly and cooks right on the spot for you. The menu is straightforward yet thoughtful featuring different daily specials. Was visiting for work and discovered it on my last day, bummed I didn’t find it sooner because I would have come here every morning.

Classic diner greasy spoon type of food. It’s a one man show with only the chef there. Amazing and delicious food and I thought the corn bubble waffles were fantastic. Never had them before and I think it’s a new favorite now.

Golden’s is a favorite spot for a classic diner vibe.
In addition to the atmosphere, the owner cooks food on the spot and with great intention and passion.
For example, yogurt is homemade, pickled ramps foraged locally show up in a simple tomato salad side with smoked gouda. It’s the attention to detail that sets Golden’s apart from many businesses today.
It’s hard not to be present with what you’re eating, which makes for a Golden experience (pun-intended 😋).

Heres the scoop, This is the best burger in Utica! Its a one man show and Jeff is fun the whole while he runs it.

Its charm comes from.it being a 1 man operations and because he does it so well he earns a 5 star for being unique!

I want to explain my 5 stars for atmosphere becasue it would be harder for you to find a smaller place however that again adds to the charm.

I love this place!

A local from one of the bars suggested to try out this restaurant. The food tastes homemade everything was made fresh. Mouth watering French toast with cannoli and strawberries.

Amazing food with great creativity. Self serve coffee and a cheese/sausage omelette cooked perfectly. Trained chef working behind the counter.

What a nice little gem to find in Utica. You won’t find a better burger in Utica. I wish I could have added a picture but didn’t have time. You will definitely walk away full.

Worst part about leaving Utica is I can't get the food anymore...

Jeff is an amazing cook. Not only does he make amazing food, he's also very innovative (something sorely lacking in this modern culinary world) he was great company.
The food is amazing, but that's no surprise. What was surprising was the prices. I checked some of the big breakfast places (Dennys, IHOP, etc.) And goldens is around the same price, cheaper in most instances!
Considering the quality it's amazing what this man does.

Really gives back in the day vibes , I love it it’s not all modern and boring . The food is great especially the French fries .

Small menu with a little bit of everything for breakfast and lunch. I had a Utica burger and it was the juciest, most delicious burger I've ever had.

Outstanding food, great service, cheap prices. Jeff always has super interesting, unique specials and I've never had a bad meal here. HIGHLY recommend!!

So happy I walked into Golden’s on a recent work trip. Jeff was a great host and knew his stuff. I got a “simple” egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich. The egg was perfect. The bacon perfect and the “Golden Muffin” was the kicker. He bakes them fresh every morning. They are a cross between English muffin and a biscuit. So delicious. And he’s just a great host in a small comfy diner in a cool flatiron corner of the town. Definitely coming back next time I’m in Utica.

Food was fantastic Jeff was a great host and chef, differently recommend the "Golden " restaurant to anyone who wants great food and good company.

Fantastic place, the food will keep you coming back. The specials are always fun and unique, as well as delicious. It instantly became a regular spot for lunch for my coworkers and myself.

The French toast are amazing the omelet was soooo good! Bread super fresh everything was made fresh and fast owner super friendly will be making the Golden a regular spot to eat

I’m a performer currently on tour, so I’ve spent the last 5 months eating out a lot going from city to city. This was one of the first home-cooked meals I felt like I’ve had since we got on the road— everything is made from scratch. Not to mention, Jeff is incredibly kind! It’s been one of my favorite food stops to date.

Finally visited Golden's after seeing enough images of delicious looking food and specials every week. I was expecting to walk into a large, fancy diner, but was surprised to find the tiniest little corner diner I've ever been in. Small and comfortable with one dude working at the counter. The owner.

Jeff was friendly and impressive as a chef. Everything is prepared in plain site and the food and flavors are beyond anything I've had at another local diner. You'll have that "Oh this is my favorite place now" moment too I'm sure.

Price was so reasonable I had to double check to make sure I heard right. $20.80 for two breakfasts and coffees. I was sure it must've been $28.00, but nope.

I have never had a bad meal here! The food is amazing the atmosphere is even better. It’s the closest thing to Cheers that you will experience in Utica. Definitely the best french fries in Utica and vegan Fridays are the highlight of my week!

Good omelette in under 5 mins while having a conversation. 10/10 would recommend
