Definitely one of the coolest parks near Rochester. The “mushroom house” is here - Very architecturally interesting building that’s been featured on some tv shows. And they also have a fish hatchery where you can feed the fish. Be sure to bring quarters with you for that! I usually bring a small container to catch the fish food in too. It comes out of the dispensers kind of fast, and a container is easier than using your hand.

Powder Mill Park is an amazing park with a beautiful fish hatchery where you can feed Rainbow and brown gorgeous trout (bring your quarters and a small container to catch the fish food out of the gumball machine!) The park is gorgeous and fun to explore with a nice bathroom house. The playground is almost new to the left down the road with it's own parking lot. There is one especially unique ride there that kids live. It's like the flying swings at a fair, but it goes round and round for awhile with one parents strong push. We call it the helicopters. There is a Swain ski hill off to one side of the park where little kids practice the bunny slope and start to learn to gain control of their ski legs. Get outside and explore Powder Mill Park by yourself with your friends or family. It will make the permanent memory bank of very enjoyable days in your mind.

This park contains a fish hatchery, and several miles of moderate elevation hiking trails. Parts can be muddy or slick during winter or spring, but overall the valley it is in muffles the sounds of suburbia nicely once you're back off the main road. For sure stop to feed the fish while you're here.

Always beautiful, so many different trails to hike. Great spot, especially with kiddos! The fish hatchery is always fun too. Recently attended a wedding and reception in the Grand View lodge and it was absolutely beautiful!

We went to see the pools with fish raised to stock the lake. It was fun to see the small fry, 2 year old, and 3 year old fishes.
The park has dispensers for fish food for the larger fish. Feeding the aquatic birds is prohibited.

Lots of trails. Fish hatchery entertaining. Don't forget your quarters to feed the fish. Lots of parking available. Many trails. Trail hiking, running, cross country skiing, and snow tubing can be done here.

Powder Mills is always great for a quick walk or escape. There are several trails to choose from, most of them well marked. A couple of them have some slight up and downs but nothing most people can't manage. The fishery at the entrance is the cherry on too. Stop by to feed the fish, most of which are set out in Irondequoit Creek in March every year. There is one playground, and several picnic shelters, some of which are enclosed and can be hired for events.

Lovely! This is a great place to take your dog on a walk (leashed of course) and they also have some steep trails if you're feeling up for it. The park is always so well taken care of. The creek/brook is a great place to cool off too. I would suggest water shoes as the stones can be a tad rough on the feet.

This place looks like a normal park from outside but turns out to be gorgeous when you go on trails. You can see deers pass you and beautiful trees. There are not much places in Rochester where you will get to experience trailing on a small hill.
Bonus - Don't miss the fish hatcheries

I've always loved this park. My family comes for picnics. My dad used to bring me to see the fish. Now I decided to find the trail with my brothers. We tried the trail behind the hatchery, which was a quick up and down, but it wasn't the Wegmans passport trail. It is across the street from the parking lot next to the fish hatchery. There aren't any markers, so it's kind of difficult to find. Once my brothers found it though, it marked throughout. There are different colored trails though, so you may need a map to stay on track. It's uphill to begin, then flattens and goes back downhill. Interesting placement for the marking. My brothers ended up finding it! Loved the open field behind the viney trees. Nice spot to read a book.

Nice park with the fish hatchery, trails, water and drive by the mushroom house. Good afternoon for kids, family, or a date.

Brought my 5yo to the hatchery and playground, he had lots of fun. The hatchery just did some improvements so we weren't able to see all the fish, but regardless we had a lot of fun. Highly recommended for families of all ages.

This is an Amazing place. You’ll get to see fishes. You can feed the fishes for 25Cents. We even saw deers at this location. You’ll also get to learn about brown trout & rainbow trout fishes. This is a fun place to chill & hangout. We went on a full day trip to cover Cananduaga, Honeoye Lake, Powder mills park and Hemlock Lake.

Had a great time with my whole family. My dog loved watching the fish especially. Some of the trails are a little more rough then I expected but was really enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed feeding the fish. A great place to check out with the whole family. It is a carry in and carry out park so make sure to pick up after yourself!

We had so much fun feeding the fish. It was inexpensive and very great for the kids. Wonderful way to enjoy an afternoon. Put in a quarter and you get fish food. Not a bad deal at all!

This place is absolutely adorable. I never knew it was here until a friend pointed it out to me after we had left Eastview Mall. To feed the fish, it’s only a quarter. And you can kind of come and go as you please. Just a really cute little place. I could go here and watch the fish all day long🥰
