Troops Subs

Troops is phenomenal. You won't find a cheaper deal for a good sandwich. The place itself doesn't come with frills. It might look questionable from both the outside and once you're inside, but give it a shot! The owner was friendly and asked us many questions, as we were traveling. We were amazed by the size of the sandwiches. A half order is seriously plenty. It's a typical Jersey style sub for sure, with super thinly sliced meat. Troops is an experience in and of itself, and you'll get a great sandwich for a great deal! Oh, and free lollipops!

I ordered a tuna sub that another reviewer recommended and it was really good. The food is fresh and service is good. Prices are good. Grab and go.

Phenomenal quality for a great price, you'd pay 5-6$ more for this quality at other places.
Only negative thing is I wish I found this place earlier. Highly recommended

Maybe the best lunch spot in New Jersey. A half sub and a drink for under $10. High quality and they never skimp on the meats. This place is the real deal

If you want a quality blue collar sub with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices, this is your place. If you're looking for a bright, nicely decorated place to dine in and have a meal, this probably won't work for you.

Classic American sandwich shop with a great selection and amazing bread, don’t forget to ask for your sand which to be put under the broiler to melt the cheese and add hot peppers. The owner is very friendly and always has classic rock music playing in the background.

Absolutely delicious subs! The price is fair, the ingredients were fresh, and I hope they don't change a thing about their bread cause it was amazing! My friends and I got 4 subs from them and each sub was made perfectly! I probably ate 3/4 of my whole sized sub in under 10 min! It was that good! I'll definitely be going back to this place soon!

Ok not gonna lie I wish the place was cleaner and didnt look like a basement. But man do i gotta say the subs are excellent. i love coming here the subs never fail to amaze me.

Place is great and a fixture in Clifton since I was a kid as Frills. Excellent subs and great service. They also accept credit cards which is convenient and the staff there is super nice. The owner in particular is always friendly and what can you say, the food is fresh.

The subs at this place are the best around! Always so packed full of meat it makes a half a sub a meal for most people.
The location doesn't look like much on the outside but don't worry the sandwich more than makes up for the plain exterior.
Parking is in front or alongside between Troops and the firehouse.

I've came here twice and both times I had good experiences. Both the owner and other staff members were friendly and welcoming each time I visited. The sandwichs are delicious! They're huge! The prices are more than reasonable as well. With each order they give you a Charms lollipop, which I think is a nice additional treat. I recommend.

The location was Frills subs before and before that Troops when the owner's father ran it, so you know he knows how to make a great sandwich!
They are cash only though, but that is how the great little places stay in business! So support them and enjoy!

Best sandwich shop in Clifton. Nothing beats a classic Italian sub from this place. You get a 14 incher for about 9 bucks. The owners are funny and friendly and remember you when you stop by. Place is cash only but it is well worth a stop for a good sandwich., plus you get a blow-pop at the end of your order! You have to try it yourself.

Truly a Clifton institution, Troops is a longtime, family-owned sub shop that never fails to disappoint. The owner is super friendly and the customer service is top notch. The made-to-order fresh sandwiches are not only stacked and delicious but are also far superior to the popular chain shops. Highly recommend.

Stumbled upon this place when I got into the area early for a doctors appointment. So many positives about this place. To start the owner was so friendly and a totally made my day. Everything is on display for you to see. He washed his hands in between making each sandwich. And the sandwich was incredible! I will absolutely be coming here every time i go to my doctors.
