I would have pictured the empanadas but they got eaten too quickly :)

Food was excellent, nice little shop, super friendly too. Mike helped me check out had some friendly chats while the food was prepared.

Driving trucks, I don't usually come thru New Jersey, even grimaceat the idea honestly😅, but I look forward to it now if it brings me by here.

O k , This is was the first time that we went to this place. The owner, Mike, was absolutely a gem! I've had empanadas before, but these Wow! Now I know where to go whenever I want an empanada. Thank you mike for your hospitality and good cooking.

Delicious empananadas! Made fresh every day. Wide variety. Oxtail was excellent. Right off 208. If you pass it, it's worth turning around for.

Just visited Gourmet Express Market for the first time to order empanadas for a party. The owners are so nice and helpful. They even gave me an empanada to try and I can see why the reviews are so good. The empanada was delicious. Can’t wait to serve the rest to my family and friends tonight!!!

So Happy to find a Latin restaurant in this area, food was delicious and good pricing. And after those 2 empanadas, I now have to try em all.

we used them for my son's confirmation. they did a great job, mike was very accomodating and flexible. we gave him a tough time going back and forth with the menu. they were on time the food was well cooked and tasted great . we found their prices on par with other caterers, but the others didnt offer spanish food....and the spanish food was great. as a puerto rican i officially know a good pernil and arroz con gandules when i taste it. my quests and myself found it to taste awesome.
i would used them again and again

This place makes the most amazing empanadas!! I ordered 2 of five different kinds the other night and a side salad for take out. I accidentally left my salad there and the owner drove it to my home for me! Now that is service!!!

Amazing Empanadas! Always fresh and hot! I'll grab them on the way home when I don't want to cook. Can't beat the Taylor ham, egg and cheese with a coffee for $3.95 Guava & Cream cheese empanadas for breakfast are amazing as well!

This is THE spot for empanadas! They have a plethora of flavors and combinations for you to sink your teeth into. Let me tell you, these empanadas aren't greasy at all, they're perfect, and they are absolutely stuffed with filling! If that wasn't good enough they have desserts, a hot lunch/dinner station, an abundance of drinks and like 3 different types of fries.

If you are around go try the empanadas here! The Yucca with caramelized onions and the plantains are so tasty as well.

Finally made in to get empanadas. Completely exceeded expectations with the best empanadas I’ve had. They fresh, made on site, and come in about 25 different options. If 10 I tasted today they all are great!

There is also a hot food bar to order from that I will be going back for. You may see me there often from now on!

The parking may be a bit intimidating for some. So wanted to make sure those people know. But the Empanadas are so good! Just get over it and get yourself some!

I’ll update or add another re use after I try the hot bar. The main attraction on the food bar for me next, is the OX Tail! Yum!!

Mike & Marilyn (I hope I spelled it correctly!) are fantastic. I’ve eaten here before & loved it… I then decided to order some assorted empanadas for a local Pediatrics office. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the quality, service, and personal touch. If you live within delivery/dine-in distance of them, do yourself a favor and order. Big fan

1st time here, didn't disappoint. White rice/black beans/pernil=awesome. 6 different empanadas=awesome/NO grease. Buffalo wings=perfect. Our new go-to spot. Owner is super friendly & accommodating.

Fast and friendly service. Freshly stuffed empanadas and super flavorful. We called ahead and Mike had it allready for us, even labled them all.

Placed an order for 40 people with the help of the owner. I needed food hot at pick up. It was hot and the hit of the party. Wings, 50 empanadas, pasta, and rice all delicious!

Highly recommend. Great empanadas, great hot lunch bar, fair prices, and very genuine and compassionate owners. Definitely worth a try and you'll most likely be coming back for more

I went to Gourmet Express Market in Hawthorne a day before the Super Bowl to order empanadas and wings. A lady that greeted me to take my order informed me that orders for Super Bowl Sunday was completely full due to the fact that football fans placed orders at least a week in advance. A gentleman behind the register (probably the owner) saw how disappointed I was and told me to hold on while he took a look at a pile-high of orders. After shuffling through them at a table, he was able to squeeze me in for a Sunday afternoon pickup. On top of that, he gave me a free beef&cheese empanadas. It was ecstacy. The outside crust was crusty and flaky, and the inside melted in your mouth. I have had Columbian, Spanish and Puerto Rican empanadas. The empanada that I had at Gourmet Express was the best in terms of taste and texture. Thank you Gourmet Express!!
