Best Chinese food in waukesha!

Love this place! They have the best sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken! The fried rice is also amazing! I always get take out, they package their food well so it stands up to the drive home!

Back in high school, I worked in a Chinese restaurant. As a result, I feel I have high expectations for Chinese food and Golden Gate exceeded them. Their fried rice took me back! It was flavorful, tasty and just the right amount of oil! I often find places use way too much oil or salt. I was thoroughly impressed!  The Beef and broccoli was also very much on point, the egg roll was solid, crispy and still very warm even after my 10 min drive home (take out). I cannot wait to come back and try some other items for take out and dine there!

They never disappoint! We went for the lunch buffet. It was very busy but only took about 7-8 minutes to be seated. They keep plenty of food on the buffet at all times. The variety is always on point. They provide different options from day to day, so you can look online and know exactly what to expect daily. Because they're constantly replenishing the entrees, everything is hot and fresh! This is why I'm willing to drive all the way across time every time I have the chance. The price is a steal, and they have servers who go above and beyond to keep the tables clean and drinks coming, so the flow of customers doesn't create a backlog. I highly recommend trying them out!

Had the buffet, it wasn't very large but was on it was tasty. Our server was very attentive and the decor was great and they have a small gift shop at the front counter..

Very unusual take on sesame chicken. Delicious, highly recommended. The appetizer variety plate was also delicious. Super friendly staff and we even got two fresh pea pods on our way out the door. ☯

High quality food. Friendly staff. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. While all Chinese restaurants have some good food, those which also offer normal dine-in service with a menu (versus the mega-buffets and carryout only joints) tend to be of a significantly higher quality, and Golden Gate is no exception to the rule. Every item on their 'small' lunch buffet (Tues-Fri) is delectable with home-cooked quality. Worth every penny!

A friend and I have also ordered a 'Dinner for 2' special from their regular menu and the food was excellent as always. I'd love to try more of their regular menu, but their wonderful little buffet is so tempting and a great value.

It's better than other Chinese takeout close to me, worth the extra drive. Everything I ordered was as good or better than I expected: egg roll, fried chicken appetizer, hot & sour soup, combination fried rice, kung pao beef, chicken egg foo young

Nice place, everything was great. Everyone liked their food, I thought the fried rice was average but that's my opinion.

Wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Orange chicken was delicious!

Came here and got the buffet for a work lunch, at first look it seemed like they didn’t have much selection on the buffet but there was actually plenty of variety to make me happy and the food was great!

Hands down the very best Chinese food around here. I only wish I lived closer. Great place for carryout or dining out, wonderful tea, fresh food, and service was great.

We’ve ordered out here many times and it’s always fresh and delicious! Best Chinese I’ve had. The broccoli in the beef and broccoli is SO fresh. We get that. The sweet and sour chicken and crab Rangoon. Everything is delicious. And the shrimp noodles with medium heat are to die for! Love the ambiance and customer service also!

We had a great dining experience at the Golden Gate. Delicious dinners and we were impressed with Rachel’s service. This is now our go to place.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. My dad loves it and requests us take him there all the time. The egg rolls are delicious and crispy. All the dishes we have tried have all been really good, it’s hard to decide. Highly recommend!

The food was good, compared to the first time I had it years ago. I remember the first time I got take out from here and never went back. But i decided its been a couple years, what the heck, and I was pleasantly surprised. My cashew chicken was delicious and so was the rangoon. The drinks were a little too sugary but overall it was a good experience this time around.

This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly. When I was there it was packed but I was able to order and get my food in about 15 minutes.

Really love this place and drive from shorewood because it is that good. Wonderful drink menu including the infamous Mai Tai. Owner is very nice and we eat at the bar usually to chat with him.
