Service behind the counter was amazing! Food was fresh, hot, and delicious! Great location on a beautiful day too. Try the Jersey jerk, you won’t regret it, unless you hate things that are delicious.

We are new to the area but have enjoyed the food and atmosphere more then a few times. The service is always tremendous. I went there today to enjoy a few of their delicious burgers and fries. Turns out I was light on cash. They graciously and generously served me the fries free of charge!!! This is just a small indicator of the type of people who own and operate this Glen Gardner treasure. Do yourself a favor, if you are new to the area or just passing thru make sure to pop in Hot Rods. You and your taste buds will not be disappointed!!!!!!

We had the fried hot dogs and we absolutely loved them. We got one each. Do yourself a favor, get two each! Good prices, good food, nice folks. Cash only.

2nd time here.We have driven by this place hundreds of times. Finally stopped here a few months ago when Hot Dog Johnny's were on vacation. What a gem. Me and the Mrs had the fried hot dogs and fries..Both were cooked perfectly and delicious. The owner explained the 2 types of dogs and several types of fries. 2 great experiences and will be stopping back soon. They have a great menu besides the terrific hot dogs!

I wasn’t able to take more pictures of the foods I bought(I ate them too fast) that’s how good they were. Alert they have new owners and from the way I was treated I will in fact be going back there. I’ve been going to Hot Rod’s for years.
The new owner was extremely nice he didn’t even know me but he gave me a free hot dog, would that have changed my review if he didn’t? Absolutely not. Hot dogs were perfect fries were crunchy on the outside. 5 out of 5

My husband and I went for lunch and we haven't been able to visit since the new owners! We both got a fried and original hot dog each with various toppings and cheese fries. Amazing! (I think better than the old owners and that's difficult for me to say!) Everything tastes delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. I can't wait to stop by again!

I have been coming to Hot Rod's since he opened in the 90's. Though I do not live in the area anymore I make it a point to stop in every time I am near. The hot dogs here are unique. I highly reccomend the "works" dog, which has mustard, onion and a pickle. When you order fries, you get a BAG of fries. You can also get hamburgers.

Very polite young man works there . The food was delicious but still in shock over the huge serving of French fries for 3.50!! I may need to drive out more often when I lose weight

Great people, great food. I think the owner could tell that I wasn't from the area and sparked up a conversation. After some chit chat while waiting for my order, he comes over and says he threw an extra dog in with chili and cheese for free! It was awesome! Big plump dogs and fresh ingredients. My new favorite while in this area!!!

Don't drive pass this place you have to go in and get yourself some chicken nuggets with some fresh brewed ice t...I didn't get the hot dog but next time I def will either fried or boiled plus they have burgers and don't forget to take home some jersey jerk pepper relish!!

Owners were very friendly. Great food, we tried the fried dogs and they did not disappoint!! We will definitely be back

Nice place for hot dogs. No tables but an edge along side the windows with stools. They have other dishes.

These guys are too cool! Way better that the famous establishment up the road! Could have better quality dogs but they are delicious anyway!

You can tell the hot dogs are cheap but, the chili is spicy and very good. I have been going to Hot Rods for over 10 years. I keep going back because I love the taste of the chili. In my younger days I would eat 4 dogs now 2 is definitely satisfying.

My go-to hot dog place and the fries are probably the best I’ve had.

Great food, if you like hotdogs. Honestly thier hot dog is an average hot dog. Thier Chili is where it's at. Owner was a stand up individual and a real down to earth guy. Would go there just for the chilli. Would recommend thier food to anyone.

Very cool vibe, I really enjoy checking out the NASCAR pictures around the room while waiting for my food. Of all the hot dog spots we’ve been to in NJ this is my wife’s favorite despite the two hour trek to get there each time. It is worth it

I can’t say anything about the food, because sadly I didn’t even eat here. But do think it’s important to give praise to this establishment for helping out a mom in need. I was on a road trip with my family when my newly potty trained 3 year old daughter needed to use the restroom, there was not a lot around so we pulled into Hot Rods. They do not have a public restroom but they did not hesitate to let my daughter use their private restroom in the back.
Had they not been so busy we probably we would have ordered some food for the road, it smelled amazing! And I’m guessing by the other reviews and how busy they were on a Monday, the food has to be incredible!!
To the employees of Hot Rods Hot Dogs, thank you so much for your kindness! We will be back to try your food!

If you want something like chili, kraut, onions and/or pickles on a hot dog, skip Johnnie's and come here. They also make hamburgers, fries, and onion rings.
