Matt’s Red Rooster is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and professionalism from the incredible servers. Dan, in particular, always exceeds expectations with his impeccable service. The farm-to-table concept truly shines here, with each dish bursting with freshness and flavor. Whether it’s seafood or steak, every bite is cooked to perfection. And their bread pudding is always so unique but delicious. We also love their unique grilled romaine salad. I appreciate how they adapt their menus with the seasons, ensuring a fresh culinary experience every visit. Matt’s Red Rooster has quickly become our go-to spot, and we’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend!

I visited Matt's again last week. You have to experience the food yourself to understand how good it is. But more than this Dave and grille Master Randall make this a not to miss restaurant. Their attention to detail and presentation will be hard to find in other restaurants. We always feel like family. My only regret is I didn't know of Matt's sooner.

Just wanted to take a minute to give this restaurant high praise. Aside from everything being spectacular. The food is high quality and cooked extremely well. The people in the kitchen really know what they are doing here. One of the best meals I ever ate. Was lucky to encounter the 18 ounce porterhouse on this particular occasion and it was immaculate. 5 stars. Everything was amazing.

Great good, great experience. BYOB and enjoy from the menu standards, or try one of the specials.

This place is great for dinner. We had our family over and decided to make a reservation for a new place. We went with Matt’s Red Rooster Grill. As soon as we entered we knew we were going to have a good time. We were greeted with kindness, didn’t wait one minute for our table to be ready, and was escorted right away. Our waiter, was phenomenal. He had suggestions throughout the menu. He made our experience better than if already was. Will definitely be back.

Simply one of the finest dining experiences in all of central New Jersey. I have been to this restaurant dozens of times, and I have never had a bad experience, whether it’s with large parties, or small gatherings. The menu is always fresh and seasonal, the portions are perfectly-sized and usually great for sharing, the specials are creative and plentiful, and the service is fantastic. It’s BYOB, which is perfect for most people looking to have an incredible meal, at a very fair price for the outstanding quality of food.

My wife and I had dinner last night at Matt's. What a gem. Each dish was better than the previous. The thing which we liked the most was Dave, who was warm, engaging and made you feel like friends, and Randall who was the maestro at the wood fire grille. He was friendly and made us feel like we were at a neighbors house for dinner. { also showed us the proper way to crisp a scallop!} What an engaging pair. Preparation and presentation missed nothing. This is a place not to miss. We found ourselves ordering more than we could eat but can't wait for left over dinner tonight! Loved it.

Amazing! We have been going to Matt’s for many years. We go (and go back) because the food is always predictably amazing, the service fantastic, and the location is great with very convenient parking. This NYE went to Matt’s, as we have for the past 13 years. It seems to get better every time we go. The seasonal menu is always interesting and delicious. If you have never been to Matt’s, go! If you have not been in a while, go back!

Has my office Christmas party at Matt’s Red Rooster the other night. The food was incredible - from the deviled eggs to the grilled romaine to the filet and scallops - all cooked perfectly and delicious! Service was excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. You will not be disappointed!

Cindy is the most pleasant waitress I have come across in years. The oyster special is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Go off the beaten path and get the specials! The shrimp and homemade pasta is also amazing. Keep it up MRR!

This was our first time at this lovely place but it went be the last! From the atmosphere to the food it’s top notch. I had the center cut filet with bacon and was encrusted with blue cheese. It was absolute perfection from how it was cooked to the harmonious flavors! My husband had the 16oz ribeye cooked to perfection both came with mashed potatoes and vegetables that made the dishes complete. I wish I would have gotten our server’s name I will be sure to next visit to give him the credit he deserves for ensuring we had such a wonderful experience. If you’re looking to have an exceptional meal and amazing service make your way to downtown Flemington and give this gem a visit you won’t be disappointed! Small restaurant in a converted older home. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs create magic. The kitchen is exceptionally clean. The flavor pairings meld in your mouth. The selections offer something for everyone and they have several signature dishes. This was an excellent experience and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. We were greeted warmly by one of your servers, even though we had no reservation. It was a beautiful evening, so we opted to sit on the front porch. We were seated right away. We had no idea your restaurant was a BYOB so we ordered a lovely bottle of the Unionville Chardonnay from your wine list. Our server Dave was excellent. Our salad was outstanding, and our meals were wonderfully prepared and delicious. I had the salmon and my husband opted for chicken. Thank you for a lovely evening. We hope to be back again soon.

8 Star Rating for Matt's Red Rooster when only Five is allowed...The hospitality, The Atmosphere, The Service provided by the Staff amplified the great meal we had.

Our group was relatively tired from a full day at Old York Cellars and simply looking forward to a great meal. Upon entering the building on a crowded Saturday night, the smiles of the servers and the greeting recieved set the tone for my guests. The friendliness was noticeable and was our first topic of conversation among friends......The quality of any restaurant will be determined by its staff and this team delivered.

The walk upstairs leading to our dining room felt inviting and the atmosphere was like we just arrived home from college and the home made cooking was waiting for us..... The table set up was simple, but the space was the perfect place for a family meal.

I personally enjoyed the 'The Classic' Center Cut Filet with bleu cheese crust....medium rare and just right.

Special Thanks to Matt and his entire team for making our 50th birthday celebration memorable. Matt took a moment to stop by and we won't forget Matt's Red Rooster Grill.....(friends are actually planning to come back in a few weeks.)

A plus all around! Unique experience. Funky yet upscale decor along with sweet, personable servers makes eating at a "fancy" place feel laid back and non judgemental. The food was out of this world amazing. I knew going in I was getting the grilled romaine and it did not disappoint! My bf says the crab cakes are the best hes ever had, and that was my meal! His appetizer, the pork belly, was melt in your mouth delish. The best ive ever had! I cant say enough about this place... EAT AT MATT'S RED ROOSTER GRILL!

Great dinner at Matt's Red Rooster Grill! Love the space- old home turned into beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent. I loved the special short rib entree. And, it's BYOB, always a bonus. Service was friendly and efficient. Next time I will definitely ask to sit at the bar to watch the team work the kitchen!

When we moved to Flemington two years ago, we've been dying to try Matt's Red Rooster. We finally had a chance and ordered pickup for our anniversary dinner. We have a 2 year 8 month old son so dining is difficult lately. When I placed the order I mentioned how excited we were to try it and that it was our anniversary dinner. Matt's Red Rooster went above and beyond by placing "Happy Anniversary" tags on our dessert! That was very thoughtful! I ordered the Cowboy Rob Eye medium rare with red potato mashed and mixed vegetables which was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Halibut special. We also ordered the stuffed tomatoes with braised short ribs, mozzarella and basil pesto. For dessert, we ordered the vanilla cheesecake and flourless chocolate tort. They both came with fresh homemade whipped cream, raspberry sauce and caramel sauce. All I can say is WOW! Everything was so good and amazing. The food was fresh with top notch ingredients. I also loved the place when I picked up the food and can't wait to dine there. Matt's Red Rooster is a gem and I highly recommend it!!

Wonderful experience. Mary was our server and explained everything well. There were a few specials that I order the cowboy steak from. The flat bread was tasty but not my thing as the 'bread' is more like a large cracker. Not bad, I just prefer softer. The cowboy steak was fantastic. Cooked medium rare as requested. As I cannot eat spinach the chef produced a great medley of crunchy zucchini slices, yellow and green that was great. Even though very busy we did not feel rushed on our 6pm reservation. To finish the coffee was really good. Quite a few desert choices. The bread pudding although presented as blueberry, turned out to be peach. Was good but when made as a single serving I think it looses the consistency that bread pudding made in a pan and then cut out in chunks, has. That is just a personal preference.
The food here is fantastic. The service some of the best anywhere. They serve on the ground floor (maybe 8 steps up out side to porch that has one 4 top and two 2 tops) and inside tables and they serve upstairs where there is a semi private room that seats 8 to 10 and a dining room. The stairs are steep but we had a very good experience upstairs.
Dining is well paced and a joy looking forward to our next visit. PS we paid on average $75 per person including tip.
