Toro Sushi

My sister and I decided last minute to go out to dinner and we landed at Toro Sushi. I actually used Google assistant to call the restaurant for me and reserve a table 15 minutes before our arrival. Toro was half full when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday but, by 8pm it was full so, our timing was perfect. Everything we ordered was excellent... edamame, tuna avocado salad, Congo roll, New York roll, tuna roll and salmon roll. Service was wonderful. We weren't rushed and food came out quickly. I'm definitely bringing my husband here the next time we visit my sister.

Great sushi and service here! Really enjoyed my American dream roll and Philly roll. This location is BYOB so make sure you have all your drinks in order.

I've ordered from Toro Sushi several times and stopped in for dinner a few years ago. I wanted something fast but a luxury treat after my work shift last week, so I ordered delivery for the Tekkadon. Outstanding. Fresh, delivered fast, and as flavorful as you'd expect from one of the highest-rated Sushi and Asian restaurants in Montclair. I have tried a lot of Asian fusion cuisine and love trying new country and regional styles besides sushi. So, the tuna is remarkable when you consider returning a week later and leaving a review. If you want some of the freshest tuna, sashimi, and much more Japanese cuisine in our area, they deliver, and the restaurant interior is lovely. 👍🤍♥

My friend found Toro Sushi through Groupon 7 years ago, and we loved it so much we keep coming back ! The rolls are amazing! The tea is also something to wrote home about. Fabulous staff & fresh fish ! Highly recommend !

We enjoyed 3 rolls here on Saturday evening. Every table was taken, and the lone waitress was working very hard to accommodate everyone. The sushi is consistent here - always fresh ! The rolls were delicious. One was spicy tuna crunch. One was the Americano. Excellent !

I decided to randomly try this place on my way to work because I’ve been seeing it often when I’m heading home but they are usually closed around the time I passed by. The place is gorgeous in my opinion, smells lovely, and had a very relaxing vibe. I got a salmon avocado and a California roll. It was $12 which is well priced, I also got a little soup and salad to prep my stomach. The salmon in that roll made me want to do ascending cause it’s hard to find a good sushi place when you’re picky like me about it but this was so good I wanted to be so overdramatic but it would be genuine. 😌

I love this place! Me and my family have come many times. The service is amazing and the place is homey and welcoming! I personally love the salmon lover roll and sushi tempura roll.

The food was good and same goes for the vibe of the restaurant. Been here a couple times and always tastes great. Fresh sushi. I had take out recently and the tuna was extremely good.

If you are looking for Authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi, this is the place to go! The staff is amazingly nice and quick at their service. Some may say the wait is long, I disagree as you must realize it takes the chef and sushi master to do what they do best, and that's a quality dish. I ordered their special black snapper which was one of the most memorable dishes I had in long time. Fresh and delicious along with the other sashimi dish I ordered. I would recommend this place to any and all my friends.

A great local Sushi house. You will be impressed. Bring your own bottle of beer or wine to enjoy with their fabulous appetizers and entrees.

Love this place and I find for the amt of sushi my kids and I like to consume, it's fairly inexpensive. Good discount if you pay cash.

Wonderful casual byob sushi place in Montclair. Service was extremely attentive and friendly, and food was very good and well priced. We even ordered a few higher end sushi pieces like raw shrimp and enjoyed it very much. They also offer a discount if you pay with cash which is great. I will definitely be back again for a weekend lunch or casual dinner.

Went here yesterday with a friend for lunch and the server was extremely friendly and checked up on us every so often. I recommend the toro sushi as it was fresh and tasted amazing. Definitely coming back again as the overall experience was amazing.

Toro changed my life. It was back in 2022 that I had entered into a coma. The doctors tried everything. It was Toro’s spicy Kani salad and Congo roll that woke me up from my coma. Life changing. Toro sushi is an excellent restaurant with a comforting atmosphere. Arianna was a phenomenal waitress as well.

I really enjoyed the movie box I ate that had some cool beef rolls and fried shumai. Place has a good vibe that feels comfortable. We also ate on a Saturday afternoon so it was quiet there. Also enjoyed the udon noodle broth and shrimp tempura. Will try and come back to try out more stuff.

Great food and great with kids! Lots of kid-friendly menu options (my kids loved the rice, chicken fingers and Brussel sprouts). Great big space!

What a Pleasant Surprise! Went here with my son searching for a new local Sushi restaurant. I am super picky when it comes to sushi, I will hardly eat at a place unless it's word of mouth approved when it comes to sushi. Toro was great! They have an extensive menu of yummy appetizers, variety of cooked and raw rolls, sushi and sashimi. If you prefer Teriyaki they have it, you prefer Tempura they have it, you want Hibachi they have it...I think you get the picture. The place itself is small and the location is a bit tucked away just off Valley Rd in Upper Montclair, make sure your GPS is working. Very friendly wait staff and it's priced right. Go, it's worth the trip!

Great little sushi restaurant! We tried multiple rolls. My favorite was the sweet potato roll and the Philadelphia roll. We also had the vegetable tempura. Not on the menu but just ask for it. Great service!
