O....M...Mother freaking...G!! I have no words...NONE!! Okay...maybe a few...I googled a Dominican place close to my job and this one popped up. 11 minutes away...it had great reviews...so I said what the heck...I'm in the mood for some Dominican food, let's give it a shot.
I walked in, the music had me involuntarily dancing! I came later in the day so he didn't have much left but he immediately talked me through what he did have and offered to fry me some tilapia (I took him up on that even though I don't really like tilapia). That FISH was SOOOO delicious!!! I LOVE TILAPIA NOW...well...ONLY from this place. Those FLAVORS!! Is this what happiness tastes like?!?!?
He even hooked me up with some yuca and plantain. I ordered the spaghetti as well because it looked delicious and OH MY GOODNESS!! Best spaghetti I have EVER had from any Dominican place!!
On top of ALL of that...VERY reasonable pricing!!
Go...just go....I couldn't recommend this place more...(Just make sure you leave enough food for me) 🤗

We had him cater our party. The BEST pernil ever. The empanadas were slamming. This is the second time we catered with him. Pre pandemic and now and he does not fail. Food is consistently delicioso!!!!!

Thank you for the reviews I saw about this place. I went couple of times, and half of the time, the store was closed because I went there late on weekdays or Saturdays. Food is really delicious. I will go there early next time, as the dishes are so good that they are sold out quickly.

Absolutely love visiting this corner restaurant! The owner and chef is very friendly and helpful, and of course the food is delicious and affordable. Highly highly recommend visiting if you are in the area

This place is amazing. He opened the store early to make 40 empanadas when my family needed a last minute caterer. They were amazing! I've gotten lunch there too. The food is wonderful. Definitely call first cause his hours vary based on his mood for the day, but it's definitely worth the wait if it's not open on your first try.

This place is authentically Dominican. Being Dominican myself, I LOVE the food from here!! The owner/chef is super nice, too, and recognizes you after a couple of times of going there and always sparks up a conversation. So much food, too, for a VERY good price. I highly recommend

Deliciously great? I was looking for Spanish place to eat oxtail and I found it! Love it! I had white rice and oxtails and I couldn't believe my self how good it taste very clean and very cozy I have to go back I have to give you a five if I could give you ten for score I would

Outstanding food at unbeatable prices! But I warn you to please call first to make sure it is open and secondly, to ensure he hasn't sold out of anything. Portions are definitely generous. Rice, beans, chicken, pork, and beef ribs are all deliciously seasoned. The empanadas are huge. He also has several desserts and bottled soft drinks. If you follow him on Instagram, you can see what he made fresh that day. Flavors are bursting throughout every bite yet nothing is overly spicy. Teeny tiny dining area, but the gracious owner makes you feel welcomed and entertained (music and singing provided while you eat). One time, we wanted plantains, but he had run out. Seeing how disappointed we were, he quickly whipped up a batch to add to our meal! Now that's customer service.

Absolutely delicious authentic Dominican cuisine. The owner/chef is passionate about what he does and it shows in the food. The serving sizes are enormous and the prices are very low. If the pernil is on the menu it is a must have, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything here. If you like Dominican food or you want to try it this place will not let you down.

My wife and I used this place to cater the food for our wedding. Everyone loved it and it came out amazing. I don’t remember the owners name but he was great, worked with us to make everything perfect. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Atmosphere is fantastic, with great food for a great price. Huge amount of rice, beans, choice of meat and plantains or cabbage for $6-8, with something new every time. Small business run by one guy, so call beforehand to make sure that it is open. Best food in Montclair!

Best spot I've ever discovered. Johan is the man and Paraiso is his domain. He wakes up early every morning and makes the most fantastic, authentic, Dominican food I've ever had. This guy deserves all the business he can get. Please, if your in Montclair and you like trying new things, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! I promise you won't regret it.

The food is aamazing, and the owner always has good energy and music playing that will make yku want to take salsa lessons. Get there early...it sells out quickly

Authentic Dominican food down to the music blasting from the Kitchen. Empanadas as the best in town. The daily special are Fresh and delicious. And for $6 for students and $8 for adults not in WIC, this is banging.

DELICIOUS FOOD. Being a fellow Dominican myself this is truly really good. Especially since there isn't anything like it near by. The owner is a super nice guy too!
