Very consistent place! I have been a client for over 6 years, and they kept high quality, even during lockdown times. Sushi/sashimi are better options than heated dishes. Dinner bento boxes offer you multiple options to try a little bit of everything at a fair price. Go for it!

Amazing - I cannot fault this place, the sushi lunch box was absolutely perfect. Fresh, tasty sushi, good size portion, delicious salad with very fresh dressing *yum* and even delicious miso, which I normally pass on as I find it salty and unremarkable…errm, not at this place, it was flavorful umami yumminess. I cannot wait to try more of the menu. WOW. Highly recommend- I am delighted!

We’ve been eating from and in Daikichi since we moved to Montclair in the 1990’s. Our favorite sushi. Fast delivery and very good food. We love this place!

I have been coming to this place since I was a kid. It's a very cozy location with great service. The owner is really nice and talks to everyone to make sure the experience is going great. They have great sushi and their entrees taste amazing as well.

The best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to - whether here in Jersey or anywhere in the US. I’ve been going here for over 20 years and never had anything less than great! The service is extremely accommodating, the owner himself is in the restaurant talking to the customers. A must is the tune Napoleon - been eating it every time I’m here!!!

Have been going here for 20 years and it never disappoints. The food is terrific.
The service can seem rushed as they are quick to bring the check and ask cash or credit. A little annoying.
It can also be loud as many bring children, as in plural, and they can be young. I wish it were a "no children allowed" spot but, alas, no.

Dai kichi is my favorite sushi place in Montclair, and there is stiff competition! Their sushi is always fresh, servers are always friendly and highly efficient, and you get a 10% discount for using cash.

I love this place. Owner is wonderful. Long lasting relationships with all the customers. The food is delicious and it is, remarkably, only second to home for so many patrons. Highly recommended

Best sushi outside nyc, fish is quality and a cut above. Tempura is great too, as are all the veggie appetizers like spinach and seaweed, and the miso etc

Lights out, legit food. GO HERE. We have a blast every time. They kind of hurry your meal along, so you may feel a bit rushed. BUT, I like that. Turn some tables baby! They have money to make. It's always hoppin' and for good reason.
