What a great experience! Very creative dishes and super tasty. Our server was already very kind and gave us very good recommendations. Highly recommend the Burrata with Brussels sprouts and the scallops. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

I’m hesitant to even write a review because I consider this place a true hidden gem! With so many options in the area I find myself forgetting about Turtle & Wolf until after my recent visit it sprang to the top of my list!

I went for a birthday celebration and my friends and I shared a bunch of dishes. Everything was so well executed, the portions were generous and we just had such a lovely evening. Cannot pass on this adorable BYOB.

This place was amazing. I had the beef tartare and chicken and dumplings and they were all amazing! The dumplings were unique and delicious. The chocolate peanut butter tart was also really good. Even the bathroom was adorable! We want to come back and try the duck confit pot pie!

Great new American cooking. It’s hard to say anything that has not already been said about this place but we’ve been here several times and every time has been outstanding small menu classic American dishes, well cooked well seasoned and of course BYOB. Well worth the trip and a great place in an area full of great places.

Lovely, quaint, yummy and cozy experience! I came on my own and sat at the bar which is adorned with cookbook/cuisine books (color coordination highly appreciated) and fun little knick knacks that were fun to look at. Just beyond that was the kitchen whipping up delights. I re-learned the BYOB thing and at first was disappointed when there was no wine list but then discovered the joy of walking next door to the wine shop and having someone help you pick out a wine to match what you ordered. I walked back over to the restaurant and they provided me with a stand and ice for my bottle of white.

The service was beautiful...several waiters/waitresses came over to make sure I had everything I need with friendly smiles and suggestions. I ordered the pate and the peanut butter pie. Both were amazing. The plating was beautiful on both! I loved that the mousse had quince and mustard seed, it paired perfectly! And I usually try not to eat bread but the crostini served with it was magical! Buttery, yet think, crispy, yet tender. The peanut butter pie was absolutely amazing! I loved the addition of the marshmallow! It was the perfect texture. Creamy and firm and such an amazing pairing with peanut butter! I would love to return to try more as everything looks delicious on the menu.

Outstanding from start to finish. We went for my boyfriends birthday and were sad when it ended. Started with a dozen oysters. So fresh and delicious. Then beef tartar which is the best I’ve ever had, topped with a raw egg. For our mains we had the farfalle with pork and the Octopus. Both cooked to Perfection. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they served us the blueberry dessert which was phenomenal. From the staff to the food and the ambiance, this is a 5 star restaurant all day with NYC quality food and experience.

Solid spot! I was recommended by a client of mine and it was amazing. Craig was a fantastic server. He knew how to walk us through the menu, and was very pleasant. Highly highly recommend. Nice personal touch with the customized menu too

An absolute pleasure in Montclair. Excellent menu and top notch, friendly service. We had the Whole Roasted Sucking Pig family dinner and it was divine. A true masterpiece and expertly prepared with crispy skin and perfectly seasoned and roasted meat. The sides were also excellent. An absolute gem.

We dined here for my fiancé’s 49th birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed my mussels entree. The flavor of the broth was by far the best mussels dish I’ve ever tasted. Ben was a terrific server. We will be back!

My wife and I dined here for our anniversary. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. This restaurant does fine dining right. The location was easy to find and parking was plentiful. The restaurant is a BYOB and there is a liquor store across the street with a large wine selection. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very modern with an entire wall dedicated to abstract art. The servers were very professional, knew the menu and were on their game. For a Tuesday, the restaurant was pretty busy. About 70% of the tables were full at 745pm. We had the beef tartare, and prosciutto with grilled pears for an appetizer and were very pleased. For dinner I had the halibut which was deliciously taste but a little dry. My wife had the brisket which melted in your mouth and was beautifully flavored. My only criticism would be the portions were on the small size. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the turtle and the wolf.

Really good dishes and BYOB. Each time we’ve been here we also have had a great waiter/waitress and great service. Reasonably priced too for the high end food they offer

This was our first visit, my husband brought me for my birthday. I have to say, everything was amazing. We started with the burrata and fried artichoke. Both were AMAZING! Then my husband had the pork belly special (which is one of his favorite meals) so he was in heaven. I had the butternut squash agonolotti and it just pure comfort food. Our server, Candy, was amazing. She was very conscientious about my husbands seafood allergy. I can not wait to go back, there are quite a few other things I would like to try!

I was able to reserve on Resy with 2 days lead time. It asks for a credit card when reserving which helps weed out those who may cancel. I am not mad at them for having this system in place! We did not wait to get our table once arrived and no one else who came in really gad to either so their system is working as designed. Our waitress Candy was very warm and knowledgeable of the products and recipes. Quality food. We appreciated attention to detail. As you can see the menu was especially printed with a “Happy Anniversary” since I mentioned the rsvp was for that. I can tell the quality ingredients were used and whoever is the chef is passionate about their art. I was gifted a gift card from one of my clients after representing them in the purchase of their home and it was used well:) The portions are on the small side and food can take a tad bit long so mentally prepare or order an appetizer. Overall great experience and would recommend!

A BYO restaurant with phenomenal food! Everything we tried was delicious and the staff that helped us was super attentive. Would highly recommend a visit to Turtle + the Wolf!

First time here and I found my new favorite restaurant! The ambiance, creative food, and friendly staff made it the most amazing experience. All food was truly 10/10. The burrata appetizer and maple creme dessert were our favorites. Our server Edwin was awesome and had great recommendations as well. We will be back!

Everyone is always so inviting in a great laid back atmosphere. Food is exceptional. The staff are super accommodating. Duck pot pie for the win.

It was last minute and they had 1 table left. And it was all amazing. Love that it's a BYOB. We've done fried chicken dinners here before but we're super excited to have regular menu food. Did not disappoint.

One of our favorite restaurants in Montclair , but last night was spectacular ! We celebrated Christmas with our grown children , spouses and granddaughter . We pre-ordered the suckling pig for 7 people but with all the fantastic and abundant sides and desserts , it can feed 9 easily . We brought food home and it was still delicious . Everyone was delighted with ALL the food and service . We highly recommend this meal for special occasions .

My son, the foodie recommended this place. It was such a pleasant culinary experience. My husband and I ordered the chicken liver moose which was more like a pate. Absolutely delicious, the combination of guava, pickled onions and mustard seeds with the pate on a crisp light cracker was absolutely robust with textures and flavor. The beet salad was amazing! The steak and french fries delicious! My chicken and dumplings were flavorful and amazing! For dessert, the chocolate and peanut butter tart was rich but delicious and shared was even better. The donuts are a must with the caramelized sauce. This was such a treat and a definite repeat for me!
