Here on an early Saturday afternoon. It’s a second visit, to finally try some of the regular food samplings. Go here and enjoy!! This avocado toast is tasty. It’s served on a small carving board, and comes with your choice of home fries or salad and a really good swath of avocado. Loved the potatoes. Golden, crispy outside, hot and fluffy inside! 😋 Decaf coffee is robust. They were a bit busy, and are looking to hire staff; so, not going to fault on the bit of a wait for service. Will definitely be back… soon, to try more delights. P.S.: Hubby had the short stack of regular pancakes. Couldn’t resist a taste, because they looked so good. They were fluffy and delicious. Sorry.. missed that photo op for you. No matter. You won’t be disappointed if you order them.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and so glad I did! Alittle pricey, but the food was great and the coffee was even better. Got an egg scramble bowl, pancakes, and iced coffees. Will definitely be back in the future!

Fantastic experience here at Blue Hippo Coffee Co. The staff is super friendly and the interior vibes are perfect. Love the drinks. Tried an iced latte and iced lavender matcha latte. Both were delicious. The food was also great. Definitely recommend the breakfast bowl and biscuit sandwiches.

Now for my standard COVID comments as of June 2022. Masks aren’t mandatory. Seating is distanced though could get crowded if busy. Didn’t have any issue personally though!

First off I liked exterior nice presentation, nice and clean. Entering the business is welcoming with a home vibe. It's quite interesting seeing blue hippos around the store. Looking at the menu I had a hard decision but I chose the egg Sammy with an iced Chai tea on the side. Everything tasted really good and so fresh! The staff was really nice also. Definitely have to stop by again for the desserts!

In love with this cute coffee shop. I highly recommend the burrito if you are really hungry. For a later breakfast go with Huevos Rancheros. They iced Chai Latte was delicious. The staff was friendly and there’s plenty of sitting indoor and outdoor.

I usually come here for their lattes and sandwiches. This time I tried the beautiful stuffed croissants in Biscoff Cookie and Strawberry and will try the Nutella and Pistachio next time. The croissant is soft with a great crust. The icing and vanilla cream filling is not to sweet or thick. Perfect!

I LITERALLY come to this place every weekend for brunch and I love the vibe, however it’s the WORST service I have ever had. This place has a lot of potential and from me they have a regular customer. It hurts to leave a 20% tip when the waitresses don’t care about you, take several minutes to go to your table (take orders, cleaning up), they’re just taking to each other and watching their phone, I have to look at them directly to simply ask them for the check. I’m tired of getting up and go to the cashier to get them my card. Hope you can improve in the service

What a gem! So glad we discovered this charming café right in Verona. We went for Sunday brunch and it was a lovely vibe. As we arrived there was a live jazz band wrapping up their set. Good coffee, good pancakes, good chicken and waffles. Friendly service, too. I’ll probably return sometime during the week to work on my laptop, it seems like a good place to get some work done during the week.

I love eating here, the best brunch place in Montclair without being overpriced or too snooty. Great black coffee and cocktails and wide variety of food options.

I absolutely loved this quaint little Cafe. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it!

I brought my siblings here , it was an amazing experience ,the staff was friendly , and Santa was so nice. They loved it here!! I would recommend the chicken and waffles!

Dropped in for some drinks, the space is very charming, well-decorated, and clean with a nice atmosphere. Our cashier was very friendly and made our drinks quickly. I don’t think I’ve had a better iced chai latte anywhere else!

Everything is fairly priced. Lots of seating both indoors and out. Coffee was good and the bacon pimento sandwich was delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out for a place to enjoy a good coffee with a good book.

My partner and I came to Blue Hippo after a post on Instagram as "one of the best brunch spots" and that is honestly an understatement. This is THE best brunch spot in all of NJ. We had the obligatory cappuccino, a great start, followed by the croque monsieur, which wasn't on menu but they were kind enough to make for us anyway, and the banana pudding French toast. The food was absolutely delicious, it took a bit longer than expected to come out after we ordered, but the inside was cute and gave us time to sip our coffee and chat. Plus the wait was worth it for the amazing food. We will absolutely be back every chance we get to try more of the great food here.

Great experience at the Blue Hippo. The food was delicious, decent portions and prices are not bad at all. It’s a cozy atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you Blue Hippo for the awesome food and service!

I went during a slow time on a weekday and the vibe was equally peaceful. They didn’t have decaf ice coffee so the barista worked with me on an alternative. They were sweet and helpful. The browning was more cakey than fudgey so I’ll skip it next time and get what I should have tried - the donuts. I saw others eating and the food looked quite good. I’m excited to come back with a bigger appetite. The decor is also trendy with the distressed wood, grey wood floors and industrial lights. The kids area in the back with children’s books is super appropriate for family-friendly Verona.

This place is the cutest! Stopped by with my husband for lunch and had the Spiced Egg Nog latte and he ordered the Caramel Brule. I had the tuna celery which was delicious and he ordered the Turkey avocado bacon wrap, definitely a must try! The staff is super friendly. And the atmosphere is awesome.
