North Lake Bear Trap

We enjoyed a great fish fry at North Lake Bear Trap tonight! We tried the cod - 2 large pieces of fish with rye bread, coleslaw, tarter sauce, and chips (with upgrade choices of potato, onion rings, etc). The cod is nicely seasoned with a light beer batter. Both the sour cream and chive wedges and the crinkle fries were fried perfectly. The tarter sauce was great for dipping with bright green pickle pieces throughout. The meal was overall delicious and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal with a few beers and let the atmosphere transport us to a cozy "up north" state of mind. We will be back to try more of the menu!

We took a drive from Waterford and stopped in had a great burger 🍔 and friendly atmosphere service was on top of every one that came in. Will definitely comeback!

It was the first place I visited during my stay in the town, plenty of space and beautiful decoration. Sthephanie gave me a good service and very friendly clientele, food and drinks at a reasonable price, I hope to visit again.

A typical Wisconsin local beer bar. The burgers are great and the bartenders always seem to be friendly along with the patrons that seem to all know each other.

Really, really nice bartenders. We sat out on the patio by the river. Loved the window for ordering. However our outside waitress was great too. We had appetizers and they were good and filling. We will most definitely be back . Thanks for such a nice time.

We absolutely enjoy our visits. Freindly staff and patrons, great drinks and a menu that satisfies. Their specials, many homemade, are popular and totally an experience. This family owned and ran establishment is also a great scene for local music acts.

First visit tonight, won't be our last. Every employee was friendly and busting to make the slew of customers happy. The pretzel appetizer with beer cheese was excellent. Burgers and sandwiches were really good too. Can't wait to visit again and try more.

The Bear Trap consistently delivers a great customer experience. There's almost always a group of locals hanging out at the bar. Sit down, order a beer, and in a few minutes you'll feel right at home. The bartenders and waitstaff are always friendly and attentive. The beer selection for North Lake is decent - there's always a few craft brews on tap, including a few Lakefront beers. The food is very good, however I haven't gone deep into the menu. I will say that the fried cod on Fridays is very good - the batter isn't to thin or thick - the fish is very flakey and tastes great. Things are served SUPER hot, and often there's some unique homemade soup available. No, it's not a big place, and no, it's not super fast. What's your hurry, anyway? Go there because you want to enjoy a drink and quality, homemade food in a relaxed atmosphere. In a hurry? Go to the drive-through at Culver's.

My wife and I are from Michigan. Stopped here and had the best time. Friday fish fry is the bomb! Owners are very friendly and the staff is off the charts. Great atmosphere and very friendly local clientele. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area. Thanks for the great food and an awesome evening!

Honestly, it was the best fish fry I ever had. The service was great. The atmosphere is nice. It's a small place but we'll worth the wait!!

Great food, great company. The owners have done an amazing job to make the place a community bar. They put so much effort into making anyone feel welcome and have also given a lot back to the community. It's my favorite bar in the area by far, and that's coming from someone raised here. Definitely worth visiting.

Great service and excellent food, the Sunday special was Country Fried Steak, the white gravy was incredible and the meat was tender.

Excellent fish fry! Friendly staff. If you love a great fish fry, this is the place to go!! They start taking orders at noon on Fridays (during the pandemic), which is a bonus. Once you try this fish fry, you will not want to go anywhere else!!!

We have had every burger in our area and these were phenominal!! The service was also excellent, even on the patio with our puppy. They make true Wisconsin old fashions too. We definately will be back for more food and drinks!

Turned around here after riding (pedal bikes NOT motorized) about 9 miles. Fast service, good pizza, and kind staff. Great place- we’ll be back for sure!

Biked out to the Bear Trap with 2 others on a warm spring day. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was the only place open. We were outsiders, but the bartender made us feel welcomed. We sat outside on their patio. We ordered some appetizers and a couple beers. Service was fast and friendly as the bar tender was also serving the food. She was hustling and very accommodating.

Great drinks, AMAZING FOOD. Seriously. The fried cheese curds are as good as WI State Fair!!!! Great staff, awesome musicians!!! Well worth a visit!!!
