I used to go to cars when I was still in high school great place to grab late night snacks or meals I'm glad it's still there reminds me of my younger days....

It's a take out place with amazing burgers and shakes. It does take longer than I expected for food, they also have an ap so would use that next time.

Amazing customer service that you just don't get elsewhere anymore. Above and beyond. Both locations. Love these owners and their teams.

We read about Cars today and couldn't believe we never went here before. Been living in Montclair for 10 years. So many fat sandwiches we could have consumed in that time! They were fantastic! The milkshakes were really good too which was a surprise. I rarely find a place that can make a good milkshake that isn't an ice cream parlor.
I don't know what rock I have been living under but I never knew what a fat sandwich was. Whomever created them is a genius wizard.
Putting cheese steak, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks in one sandwich is brilliant.

Excellent food, looks strange at first but surprisingly they pull it off. I’ve been here 3 times already and have only had good experiences with this place. The staff is very friendly and by how it looks on the inside they do take out. Definitely a great spot if you’re feeling something new and crazy!

This sandwich was wider than my steering wheel, heavier than all the food I ate last week, and tastier than 90% of sandwich spots in the area. Usually you don't get all 3. But they got it locked down...I may just stop in for another today.

Delicious food, friendly staff. No complaints. Prices are what you’d expect for this type of business, which is refreshing.

Ordered from Door Dash or Uber Eats weeks ago can’t remember anyway shakes were slappin & I ordered the FAT SOLOMAN. IT WAS EXQUISITE. For all my vegetarian peeps hit this place up and order the fat soloman.

Fat sandwiches? Yes please! I catered from here for a party and it did not disappoint. The order was ready on time and nice and warm. Every sandwich was packed neatly. I ordered the fat gerald, fat tony, and fat falafel and everyone liked them. The sandwiches had just the right amount of sauce. The Mac and cheese bites were also a hit, especially with the kids. The waffle fries and onion rings were crispy and well seasoned. We had some leftovers but even reheated, the sandwiches were on point. It was a great value for the meal. Can't wait to go back and try some other sandwiches.

Delicious fat mo and fat hawk sandwiches. I’ve never had such a delicious sandwich as the fat mo. And only a half fills me up, so the other half is perfect saved for later! The burgers were delicious and we loved the French fries, tots and waffle fries.

They were amazing, and definitely best sandwich place in the Essex county area! Unique too!

I love this place so much. It's always been my favorite go to place to get a fat sandwich, and they hold surprisingly well for the amount of food that's on them. I could also honestly say that I really miss their shake of the month. Even if they brought some back as permanent I think that would be smart such as red velvet or Captain crunch. It is what it is I understand they had to do a simplified menu for covid. This place and their staff deserve nothing less than five stars

The food is great. Everything is fresh, not frozen. Super clean. Great variety!

The Fat Phil is my go-to sandwich. Great combination of flavors. Their shake of the month program is great for trying new shakes. Would highly recommend the current December Shake of the Month, Milk and Cookies. The CARS Burger was also delicious, with bacon and their signature burger sauce. Tater tots were overdone, but everything else was delicious. Great place to visit on a "cheat" day, or really just any day. Have not tried the mozzarella sticks or chicken tenders on their own, but if they are anything like the ones in the sandwich, they are fantastic. I hear the wings are good too. Highly recommend overall.

Best Fat Sandwiches Around!!! I always order the Reptar. If you like spicy, try it out. Very good. Milkshakes are decent too. My only complaint is with the fries. I’d consider a different packaging so the fries don’t get soggy during delivery. Happens all the time.

Love the cheesesteak sandwiches. They also have GREAT desserts and shakes. There is a couple of seats at a bar that looks out the window. Other than that, the food is take out. Which is no problem.

I order the (Big Author) If you hanging out with the fellas and you want a sandwich, you can build a sandwich to your liking, this is the spot. I had a milk shake wasn't really feeling it I had better. The staff was great a friendly experience a little small only 4 stools. Still a great place

Hands down amazing place. If you want fatty cheat day food then this is definitely the place you want to go to. The food combinations are the best, and the shakes are alittle too thick for me personally but if you like thick then they are perfect for you. Small shared parking lot but there is no real seating only four stools, but this is not the place you really sit down and eat. 9 out of the last 10 times i have been there the staff is very friendly but since there is a younger crowd you do get that one employee who is alittle rude.

If CARS is able to opt in to Doordash’s Dashpass program so that members save money on orders, it would make the experience of ordering truly five-star. This place has some of the best food in north Jersey PERIOD, and the convenience of ordering makes it all the more enticing. From the quality and flavors of the food to the effort and finesse put into the presentation, CARS is a five-star establishment on its own. But, assuming they are able to opt in to Dashpass for us Doordash users, I’m hesitant to leave five stars confidently until they do. Ordering with Doordash is convenient but is very pricey. I have zero complaints with the food though, wonderful stuff they do over there. Keep it up!

Update: They’ve opted in! I can now order for much cheaper and more frequently, five-star establishment. 🥰

Recent bad reviews are criminal. Had to step in and offer the 5 stars. 12 inch Gerald and Mac bites please. Just wish they still had the super late hours but I get it
