I am working on a bathroom remodel and ran across a wiring issue installing a new light above the shower that I couldn't figure out. I called John and despite the fact that he was out of town, he was willing to walk me through my issue over the phone until I understood what needed to be done. With John's help, I was able to get everything working correctly. It's nice to know that there are still people that are willing to help others without putting their own profit first. John was able to install a new flood light for us and everything went great! Easy communication, up front about the cost and was able to get everything done in a very timely manner. Would absolutely use his services again in the future if needed!

Had a GFI outlet showing issues. John called and came in less than an hour and a half to troubleshoot and repair a short and breaker switch. Work was done very quickly and I was kept in the know for what the issues were and what was to be repaired. The cost and value of the work John does is exceptional.

We had John out to replace a standard outlet w GFCI and he also installed a couple new LED lights in our kitchen. He called me back very quickly after submitting a form on his website and was able to come out within a couple days to do the work. He was here when he said he would be, he called ahead, did great work and was really fast. Really recommend giving him a call if you have any electric work that needs to be done!

We had two dead outlets and couldn't figure out why they weren't working. I called John and he was out of town, so he tried to help me over the phone to reset the outlets. He also told me to call him back if I couldn't get the outlets working, which reflected sincerity and generosity on his end as a business. Although we weren't able to get our outlet working again and will have to have an electrician come out to our home, we're still so grateful that John stayed on the phone with us until our outlets were reset and we were sure that nothing would help! I called John to install an outdoor motion sensor light. I had already received 2 bids from 2 other companies, but wanted to get a 3rd. John and Connie arrived in the morning to discuss the install. John listened to what I wanted, but was able to provide me with a more logical solution for my install. I was amazed that no one else recommended this from the previous 2 bids. This not only saved John time, but it also saved me money. He was also able to avoid any damage to the inside or outside walls that the previous contractors said I would need to patch. John was actually able to complete the job for less than he originally quoted me. It's rare nowadays to have someone pass the savings onto the customer. Terrific experience, and couldn’t be happier with the completed work. I had an outlet moved in an unfinished basement room. John made an effort understand my goal and offered great suggestions. The whole process from start to finish was very efficient, and it was pleasure working with him. I will look no further for electricians in the future!

I called and spoke with John on the telephone one morning. I described the problem and sent him photos of the problem areas. He called a few hours later and told me he would be able to come to my home by 11:00am. He arrived with his wife , determined the problem within a few minutes, repaired the problem, made some improvement suggestions, and took the time to examine the electrical panel. He saved me thousands of dollars in just one visit! (another company told me that I would need to change out the entire electric panel). I was very impressed with John's professionalism and his wife's helpfulness. I have a new electrician!

We had a large heavy light fixture that was falling out of a 17 foot vaulted ceiling. I needed it fixed fast before it fell and hurt someone and I didn't think I could handle that myself. Luckily my Google search led me to John. He was able to come out quickly and got everything fixed for a fair price. It didn't go perfectly and I think most electricians would have given up and told us to buy a new fixture but John was able to fix our slightly broken one and put it back up saving us hundreds! John has done numerous projects for me, and is always easy to work with and responsive with fair pricing. Most recently he came to my newly purchased house and through some good sleuth work, located problematic wiring causing a short. He fixed the problem and taught me quite a bit about my new house. John and Connie are a great team. They are so pleasant and very knowledgeable.
We had them put up a chandelier and they were so helpful on what light bulbs to use. They also took time to find out what switches worked for the light. They took their time and even stayed longer to put in a dimmer switch for us !!!

We had several outlets installed including exterior outlets that involved tricky routing through stucco walls and the attic. The work was so well done, you'd never know it wasn't a part of original install when the house was built. In addition, John and Connie were so personable and good at explaining everything that we would definitely hire John Kivel Electric again!

We needed a light moved in our dining room and luckily found John through a google search. I had the power lines coming from the pole to the house weighed down by vines growing from the house . I called Excell and they told me the the repair was my responsibility but did not instill a sense of urgency. I called John’s company and spoke to his wife and she told me when he would be in touch . He called when he said he would. I sent him some pictures and he quoted me a price.
He showed up when he said he would and looked at what was going on and shared his grave concerns about the situation. We agreed on an increase to his quote and he performed the work quickly and well .
Very professional and expedient. 5 stars . I would recommend him to anyone.
