I had an outstanding visit. This location is off the beaten path with plenty of parking and several species of deer crossing the road (please be cautious entering and exiting). I recommend setting up a reservation prior to visiting as this location gets very busy. The decorations are plentiful. Everything ordered came out delicious. Our waitress was quick to keep our drinks filled and provided outstanding customer service. The steaks ordered were perfectly cooked to our request. I couldn't recommend this place more for special occasions and celebrations.

This is a fantastic restaurant! I must admit . . . To get to this restaurant, you have to go over the mountains and through the woods - LITERALLY!!! It is so worth the hike! Next time I go, it’ll have to be during daylight savings time when it gets dark around 8:30-8:45pm.

The service was amazing, and the food was phenomenal. I couldn’t get over the rustic decor. I totally understand why this place is so busy. The ride was worth it! We had the fish and shrimp platter, braised short rib, New York strip, shrimp pasta, chicken wings, onion fried green beans, bacon wrap and the delicious bread. UNBELIEVABLY SCRUMPTIOUS!

The only concern is the nervous manager. He seems somewhat easily triggered. If he gets kinda shaky when he has to setup for a large party, maybe he can take a shot of “act right”, then spin around three times. That’ll guarantee an instant “calm down” for him.

One of the best restaurants I've been to! This place is awesome. The venue is really cool with 1850's style architecture and it's totally decked out for Christmas. There are 7 dining and each of them have wood burning fireplaces that they keep running in the colder weather. Such a nice touch. Our server was Tiffany and she was so great. We really appreciated how well she took care of us to make sure we had a great experience. And the food..... My goodness! Everything was absolutely delicious. I had the brandied NY strip and my wife had Cajun shrimp and andouille sausage, and our daughter had spaghetti. Everything tasted amazing! We will most definitely be coming back.

The service here is always great, and the food is amazing! This restaurant has a beautiful ambience, and the tables are nicely spaced so there is privacy between the tables. There is plenty of free parking too. We enjoy the all you can eat shrimp or fish on Friday. It is so delicious and served with coleslaw and rye bread! I highly recommend a visit to the Fox and Hounds restaurant.

We love going to the Fox and Hounds. My husband and I even had our wedding reception in one of their private rooms. Food is always amazing, service is great and the atmosphere is lovely.

Architecture is amazing. Each part of the restaurant is in a slightly different style

Food was fine. Nothing exceptionally special about it

Go here for lunch. The prices for the lunch items are actually pretty reasonable. Spent 40 minutes in total here (compared to at least an hour if I had visited for supper)

Fantastic restaurant! The decor and atmosphere match this place hidden away in the forest. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food tasted amazing no matter what is was. The Fox’s Feast appetizer was a great choice to try everything and the cinnamon butter with the bread was the absolute best! Definitely worth it!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants when I want a cozy vibe and good food. Things are pricey but they do have but one entree get one free which ends up equaling out to what you usually pay at a restaurant. One of the Friday fish fry entrees is all you can eat (but it's not included in the but one get one) dessert also is buy one get one free. The servers are attentive and friendly. I love this restaurant especially around Christmas as they deck out the entire place. If you haven't ever been here or it on your "want to go" lists. I would just say if weather is bad, take care or rethink the day, as Friess Rd. can be very slippery.

It would take weeks to actually see all the cool decor! Service was top notch, food was great and abundant! Make sure to wear your stretchy pants!!! It's a popular place, so would recommend making reservations. If you're visiting for the first time, follow the signs closely as it's up & away from the main road. (We missed the entrance but quickly realized it & easily turned around).

Getting to the Fox and Hounds is fun. It's nestled in the woods. The roads to get there twist and turn. The building is very historic. There are several different dining rooms. Each room has a cozy feel. We started in the bar with old fashioned's and beer. After we were seated, our waitress told us about the buy one get one deal. We all enjoyed our dinners. I ordered the NY strip, and it was done perfectly. Each meal came with soup or salad, hot bread, potato, and vegetables. Desserts are also buy one get one. The ones we picked were enjoyed by all. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly.

Beautiful drive up to the restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Highly recommend reservations. Gluten free options available. Worked well with my garlic and onion allergies. Pumpkin spice martini and apple old fashioned but both had weak alcohol content for $11 per drink. Buy one entree, and get one free was worth it. Service was a bit slow for 4:30p dinner reservation.

What a gem in the woods! Reservations are recommended as it was very busy when we were there on a Friday night. The waiter was very attentive and professional. Food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Holy Hill area and the character and charm of this building is extremely charming.

Amazing family restaurant in the Holly Hill area. The drive is gorgeous, and the cabin has a beautiful history. I highly recommend reserving ahead of time and arriving about half an hour earlier. Yes, it is pricey, but the second diner, drink, or dessert is always free. We had as an entrees stuff mushrooms, and it was gone before I was able to take some pictures. The main course we had the 18 oz Porter house Steak and Roasted Duck, and it was delicious. Drinks dirty Martini and the Passion fruit Mojito. Dessert we had a Sunday melted fudge 😋 pur bill came at 120, worth it.

We had wanted to visit this place for years, since we moved to this area. We finally went to celebrate our 29th anniversary. It was delightful - the atmosphere was so cozy and decorated so nicely for the holidays. We will definitely go back again.

Food was great and the service was excellent! Prices are kind of high however the BOGO free deals make it better.

Can't beat the buy one meal get 1 free. Delicious food and fabulous service.

We have been here numerous times, but this was our first time here for the fish fry. It was delicious. There are numerous AYCE fish and fish combo options. We also came to see how beautifully decorated it is for Christmas, and we weren't disappointed.

Beautiful little spot tucked away on a long windy wooded road. We drove the bike over for a tasty dinner date. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions were just right and the flavors were on point. The server was kind and friendly. The ambiance gave old German log cabin in the woods vibes and we are here for it!! So good. Highly recommend.

My son and I came in for the fish fry. I had the shrimp, he had the fish. Both were amazing! We enjoyed the historical atmosphere! Robert was our waiter, and was the best. We enjoyed our entire experience and will be back. We live an hour away, and it was so worth the drive!

This place is amazing. If you haven't been you need to go. It's rustic, staff I incredible, and the food is good. If you go by yourself is going to be on the pricy side, since there meals are two for one. The lesser priced meal is always free.
The atmosphere is why you dine here. 8 dining areas, 7 of which have fireplaces/wood stoves.
They have a downstairs bar like a cellar, and so cool. The whole place is just cozy!

This is a historic site and an adventure experience! A long wait after putting our name on the list, but we walked around and enjoyed the beautiful decorations. This place is beautiful! Our server, Tiffany, is probably one of the best human beings on the planet. Seriously amazing straight up best service ever! Plus she's delightful and lovely. The bread is so good I had three slices and I never eat bread. I had the bacon wrapped filet with blue cheese topping and lobster, and my husband had the prime rib. Both were fabulous beyond description. I had the delicious Apple Crown old fashion, but liked the IPA from Surly Brewing even better. But at this time of year, you simply have to have that Apple Crown old fashioned cocktail. This lodge is lots of small and large rooms. And even sitting in a table in the middle of a room, we had the best service and became best friends with the people at the next table. Just a wonderful wonderful time! Make sure you go to the secret bar downstairs!
