This restaurant was amazing! Food was great! The service was very very welcoming and friendly! This is a quaint place with delicious food and pastry. We were on our way to
Cooperstown and wanted to stop by a small town to have lunch before heading in. This was a wonderful find! Ask about the interesting history of the place!! I highly recommend this place for a meal!!!

Wow!! This place has the flavor of a big city deli and bakery but with the care and heart of a small town eatery. You must try the Cinnamon twist! The wait staff is super attentive friendly and our coffee never went empty. Food was delicious. Whether you're a local or passing through its a must stop. The cool mural with the story printed on the menu was really charming. We will be back.

We found this place by accident, a good accident! The people were great, and the food was excellent. We bought some half-moon cookies and some Danish pastry. We live 4 hours away, so it is a bit far for regular visits . We highly recommend you stop and eat here!

So excited to find hash browns! Hard to find restaurants that make hash browns and Chief Schenevus makes them perfectly! Yummy bread roles and coffee are perfect, too. Charming interior. Baked goods baked on the premises.

Have driven past the sign for this restaurant for over 20 years. Decided to stop today, wasn't able to have lunch but bought assorted pastries that I shared with my coworkers.
Absolutely delicious and the woman that took care of me could not have been friendlier or kinder. Stopped again for lunch, steak wrap with cherry peppers, very filling and fresh.

My husband and I happened to find this restaurant at lunchtime, so we thought we would give it a try. The food was excellent and we enjoyed reading the story about the Indian Chief it was named after. They have a Facebook page where you can check out the daily specials. They were very accommodating and even made my delicious sandwich with gluten-free bread. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Having a meal at the Chief is always a wonderful experience. The food is delicious! It was the weekend of my mother's family reunion on my step dad's side so even though we only do this once a year we always come to the Chief for breakfast and are never disappointed. There is nothing like the small town feeling

Fantastic setting with a lot of history. By far the best breakfast place near Cooperstown. Mouth watering baked goods. Super friendly staff. Every time I’m up in Maryland I always come to eat!

Great food and dessert! I had a burger and it was juicy and cooked just right. For dessert I had the Napoleon and it was very creamy and fresh. The owner and chef really takes pride in quality food at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent as well.

I eat here twice a week.

The wraps are delightful, and you can expect normal deli sandwiches to be great as well. Its nice and quiet, and the service is very good.

There are baked goods including pies and cakes and much more available fresh and regularly. Super yum, definitely recommend.

Also, its pretty much the only good nom for miles.

My Mom and I try to go here whenever I visit from Texas, and this time we really loaded up with a variety of baked goods to take home. It has a cozy atmosphere with interesting decor. I especially liked the fruit danishes.

Traveling MA to MI. Tired of chains. Love to support people in communities. Saw sign on highway and so glad we stopped. 4 minutes into town. Variety on the menu. Delicious! And generous portions. Local ambience, outdoor seating too. So worth the stop. Will be back on trips back and forth.

This was a very friendly place.
My husband had the Beef Reuben and I had the Turkey Reuben both had fries; we were highly impressed with the flavors and the amount of meat that was on the sandwiches was incredible!
Dessert was the icing on a good lunch. 🙂
This is a must go to place.

Great spot! We stopped while on a road trip. I had the"dirty bird" Ruben which was probably the best Ruben I've ever eaten. My kid had the French toast which was also quite good. Friendly service, some fun history and backstory to the town and restaurant. Highly recommend!

Loved this place! Great chicken & rice soup, honey glazed doughnuts & "perfect" lemon cake. Loved hearing the history behind this shoppe and the mural and decor (tables and mosaic at the front) were beautiful!

Awesome place to eat; great food, good service, quaint and a fair price. The owners made spaghetti for my grandson from scratch even though it wasn't on the menu! All that and a bakery too!

Always a great place to eat. Food is fantastic. If you go away hungry it's your fault. Rich does a terrific job.

First thing you see walking is is fresh homebaked goodies..and lots of them...muffins galore, pastries, pies, cakes , cookies - including Half Moons which wete absolutely delicious. The owners are my kind of people with hometown smiles, personality and customer service. Try a butter griiled apple cinnamon muffin...melts in your mouth and gives you wush you were at grandmas feeling. To top it off the space is full of Schenevus History including a love story, murder, and heartbreak...you gotta go...its my new favorite place.
