came on a Sunday night - still very loud/bar environment (to be expected)
food is soooo good and very minimal wait. reasonable pricing for Columbus area.
Dill Pickle pizza - 10/10
Just Pepperoni pizza - 8/10

As old downtown area bars go, this is our favorite. They open at 3:00 pm, (call ahead as this could change) and the kitchen, which serves tasty inventions, opens about 5:00.
You can be assured of well poured drinks at very fair price.
Yes, they have wifi.
Because of limited parking, this is becoming a locals bar and less of a destination bar.
But new, nearby garages have been built with 7' clearance and are a worry-free alternative to the risks of street parking tickets.

Gone are the days that you could rub elbows with Dispatch reporters and Civic leaders but the ghosts of the past are still there.

My absolute favorite place in the Short North. It's got a great, relaxing atmosphere. The beer is cheap and the drinks strong. It's a good place to watch games during the day, and a happening place at night. The bartenders are always friendly and they provide fast service. There are also darts that you can play if you get there early enough!

Fantastic pub with retro appeal. great art, and great staff! the booths are spacious and comfortable, even though they are solid wood, and the bathrooms are quite clean. The Ladies room has a lovely vintage brass sink basin.
Huge supporters of the arts, you can see a changing monthly schedule of local artists. as someone who has shown there, i can say for sure that they move art too. great place to see and buy art!

This is the Short North's classic historic dive bar. The drinks are fine (try the Bucky Punch), the atmosphere is quirky, but the food! Just trust me on this. I go for the darts but stay for the food. Their cook Farid is straight up the bomb. Everything he makes is delicious. Totally blew me away.

LOVE this bar for cheap drinks and chill vibes. Not super hype/loud, but a nice dive bar to chat with friends. We got 4 drinks for $18!

Some places never change. Been over 13 years since I worked door there. Couldn't wait to stop by and throw some darts!

This is a wonderful "small town" hangout in the middle of too many "urban" clubs. It's a great place to go throw some darts, eat the best food around (it's amazing, I'm not kidding) and drink a few.

When you drink a few, at least one should be the "Bucky Punch". I don't know what it is, but it's wonderful and you won't regret it.

It gets pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, as does any bar on the Short North. But if I had to pick a place to rub shoulders with people, it would always be the Tavern.

The last of the Short North institutions. Nicely priced beers, decent liquor selection, some tasty dive food (chicken tenders are shockingly good even for adult tastes) and some of the busiest dart boards in town. The well kept dive bar every neighborhood wishes it could call it's own.

Just passed through on a walk through the short north. Grabbed a drink and walked on. It has a good atmosphere and drink selection. I think the artwork on the walls might actually be for sale but I'm not certain.

I love the Short North for nostalgic reasons, and it is fantastic if you get there early. However, if being elbow to elbow with a bar full of people is not for you... It won't be your place. Late night, it gets packed, really packed, yet the staff is pretty amazing!

Inclusive. All walks of life. Good drinks, great prices. Decent nibbles from the kitchen. Dart boards, great art on the walls. It's Short North so plan on parking conundrums. Love this place.

Best bar in the Short North. Whoever said it smells is a liar and a troll. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Order a Bucky Punch. Best mixed drink creation I have ever had at a bar.
