Gateway - University District

This is a pretty nice theater. It will not have all the comfort of other chains like AMC but it definitely has more interesting decorations that keep changing, a selection of old movies and festival movies. Definitely worth a try.

I love that it's locally owned and that it stocks local treats. Plus, it airs indie films and promotes local artists. They even hang local art that you can purchase! The seats are comfortable, and the theaters are small. The sound was up too loud, but a fellow patron asked them (twice) to turn it down, and then it was perfect 🥰

I've reviewed this place before. To me it's the best theater in Columbus. Second place would be the Drexel. Gateway has a nice choice of movies to watch. The place is always clean. Friendly staff big parking garage. One thing I enjoy is they feature local artists. Just outside the theater plenty of places to eat.😁 As I've said before best movie theater in Columbus 👍

One of the best parts about Columbus is this right here. So beautiful and peaceful. I will dearly miss living on this part of town. I do all of my shopping here if I'm honest.

Really nice theater with comfortable seats and great sound and picture. Good popcorn too. They also have a full bar and a lounge.

Great theater for fans of cinema. Always have a wide selection of mainstream films and indies that you can't find anywhere else in Columbus. There's a bar too :)

Clean, beautiful architecture, pretty much every single kind of rescorce you may need all grouped up into one place… it’s kind of like a farmers market, that’s how I would describe the mood.

Love this place. Independent film center that promotes all visual arts and also shows big blockbusters. Excellent selection of local food and drink to take in to your movie too

Fantastic theater. It’s an independent theater with tons of good deals. Came here a lot during college and finally was able to watch a film in here after a couple of years. They are always making it better!

Great independent theatre. They have great deals for students and they will validate parking from the garage next door. The theatres are small, but comfortable so make sure you arrive early enough to get a good seat. Not all current movies are offered, but many popular ones are, and the independent films are incredible. They have regular events like Cult Classics 101 and other cool special showings.

Good movie theater that's also close to OSU. Gives student discounts in the form of D-tickets.

I've been here 5 times since moving to Columbus and still can't get over how amazing this theatre is. All the workers seem genuinely interested in the showings and seem like they don't hate being at work, which is great! The consistent variety and quality of films they show here keep me coming back at least once a week. So good.

The gentleman that I met with to verify my parking pass and give me directions to what theater I needed to go to was very friendly and helpful I'd like the gateway it's easy to park and they have wonderful films there I would definitely recommend this place.

Gateway is a special place. Truly independent theater that hosts great events and shows excellent movies. If you're going to a movie, they deserve your dollar. Proud to have a place like this in our community.

This theater was a nice surprise!I don't make it up to N.High St much these days,and things have changed a lot since my concert going days at the Newport and Stache &Little Brothers throughout the 1980's and 90's.I definitely would recommend this theater if you're in the area.

Love this theatre so much! There are all kinds of indie selections that I feel like I would never get the chance to see. I love their concession options lots. They have cherry pepsi!!! 😍 I believe on Tuesdays you receive a free bag of popcorn. I say look into it!

My favorite movie theater. Ticket prices are great for students, the mix between new movies and classics is great and it's an independent theater!! The food and beer there is also good and it's not ridiculously priced for the most part. If you're trying to decide between various theaters in town, pick here.
