Fresh Start Café and Bakery

I called because I needed a Vegan cake for my son and now daughter in laws Wedding which was on December 17,2023. They were so very friendly answered all my question for my daughter in law has allergies to eggs, peanuts all tree nuts. Vegan cake with butter cream icing and cupcakes were delicious. I highly recommend Fresh Start Cafe and Bakery. Thanks to you all here's pictures of the cake and cupcakes. The price was very affordable 👌

I worked with Heather to make our wedding cake and it turned out beautifully. She knew that I wanted to use my grandparent's cake topper and worked with me to create a cake that was beautiful and highlighted the topper. Not to mention, it was DELICIOUS and fairly priced. Even my checkout experience was lovely working with the employees behind the coffee bar. Would highly recommend Fresh Start!

A great place for a quiet breakfast downtown Delaware. Had a sandwich on a cheese bagel and a Peanut butter cup pastry. Definitely recommend both!

Great service, beverages, and food. Coffee and tea have been made quickly and correctly every time, and the staff is very friendly. The environment is cute and has local art in the back to browse while you enjoy your drink. But the real winner here is the scratch-made biscuit sandwiches. Holy moly the cheese and egg biscuit sandwich is GOOD. And not just “good for a quick bite” good . It’s “drive out of my way to get one of these biscuits” good.

I love their flavored chai teas and they have a wonderful buckeye bar and chocolate caramel shortbread! Their regular shortbread is great for breakfast, but the chocolate caramel shortbread is a super sweet dessert! Oh, and I absolutely adore the Barista's! They're so nice and personable! Thanks Quinn, Abby and the team! I have a wonderful experience every time I come!

Coffee is great, the sausage and egg sandwich is a little expensive but its a good size and tasty. The baristas were super nice and happy to remake my drink after someone else took it. Great place.

Always a good experience at Fresh Start! Picked up one of their chocolate, two layer, six inch, round, valentine's day cakes with buttercream frosting (pictured). Never been disappointed here and this was no exception, absolutely delicious! It's nice that they have on street parking in front of the store, but they also have a rear entrance that opens to the public parking lot behind the store.

I love visiting Fresh Start Cafe and Bakery! I have ordered so many of their items: coffee, bakery items, desserts - all delicious. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy - so good! Such a lovely place to stop while strolling downtown Delaware!

Fresh Start Cafe & Bakery is a real treasure. The staff is friendly and welcoming and their passion for what they do is evident. The coffee here is simply awesome, and the sandwiches and pastries are always delicious. It's a cozy spot where you can enjoy great food, a warm atmosphere and WIFI!

Delicious coffee. I could even drink it black and it was not bitter. Wow. I could lose weight!!!
Oh, then there are the pastries. They are rich and creamy. Worth every calorie.

Visited this establishment for the first time today. The staff was super nice and the woman who took my order helped me figure out what kind of coffee I wanted. Coffee was bomb af too. 5/5 this is my new Personally assigned coffee place.

My family loves going to Fresh Start for breakfast or a special treat! I don’t have to worry about what ingredients are in their delicious drinks and freshly baked pastries. We always leave full and happy!

We just ordered lunch for our meeting and everyone loved it. The sandwiches and salads were amazing and SO fresh! I’ll
definitely use their catering services for larger meetings.

The team at Fresh Start Bakery does an incredible job through and through! The owners are present and thoughtful, and I really enjoy going in to treat myself to a delicious breakfast or coffee from time to time.

Love love love! New to Delaware so finding a local coffee spot has been high on my priority list and I 100% have found it! Great coffee, pastries, and atmosphere. The people there were super friendly as well. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Awesome place for an after early Sunday morning mass cafe experience. Great coffee and the best fresh pastries!

Everything I've tried has been excellent. The service was fantastic! Bonus points for truly engaging in conversation with my six year old as opposed to just politely answering his many questions.

Had a fever dream of an experience because I walked in with a smoothie from another place in town. Barista made me another smoothie free of charge to compare to my already existing smoothie and gave me a cookie. Best birthday ever and that pal needs a raise.

Great people and great coffee. The Classic breakfast sandwich (on a biscuit) is a go to. Its hearty, filling and homemade.

Love this place! Staff is so friendly and helpful, drinks are always delicious, and treats are freshly made and sooooo good. I frequently went to study and the space is very accommodating for small groups and visitors. Would highly reccomend!! My go-to was an Iced Lavender Latte 😉
