Skorpios Gyros

Every aspect of this restaurant is a 12/10! It was my boyfriend and I first time checking it out and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a big smile. The kind soul behind the counter gave us a tour of the menu, and had such an amazing fun personality. I immediately felt comfortable. I got the Al fries and oh man sooo good. Fries were covered in a rich seasoning, Mac and cheese was very creamy, chicken tenders were cut up and had a perfect amount of breading. ALSO get the slaw!!! It’s home made and delicious!

The food was amazing, so much flavor, but the service was out of this world. They were super friendly and helpful, big smiles that made you feel welcomed. Took the time to go over the menu and explain some items, all while not making us feel like we were an inconvenience. A warm and welcoming atmosphere makes all the difference when dining.

Hubby and I ate here with his son and daughter-in-law. First time eating here for us. Second time eating gryos for me. The food was outstanding. Service was extraordinary!!!!!!! And as for the three stars on the atmosphere, the place was spotless . We were their on 4/12/24, and it was after the rain it was warm .When we went inside, it hit all 4 of us . They had the heat 🥵 🔥 on it was hot. I asked the guy behind the counter if it was warm in here or was it was just me. He said thank you. I'll turn it off . While we were eating, the heat came back on. I got done eating, and I had to go outside. My face was flushed 😳 . So that's why the 3 stars.

Staff made my order easy with my diet restrictions. Love all the veggies and options. Lamb meat is not traditional off the skewer but still tastes good.

We've been eating here for a while and have never been disappointed. Their lamb gyros are so good I have to talk myself out of the XL every time. Don't ignore the baklava, it's been consistently good as well. Also, always get the skorpio's sauce to dip your fries in.

My wife and I came here for her birthday, she loves gyros! The owner, Alex was very welcoming, friendly, and truely loves his craft! I'm not a big lamb eater, but even I was blown away by the tender, juicy, and flavorful meat!!! My wife was very surprised at this gem of amazing food in Newark! We look forward to returning soon!

We were looking for something different for lunch...

And we found it. This restaurant is really not much to look at but the food is really good. I would strongly recommend it. I had the extra large gyro with onion rings which I really enjoyed. The extra large gyro is really big - I can't imagine how big the 2xl gyro is or even the dumpster gyro but there was plenty of food. The onion rings were great. Wifie had the gyro salad with chicken which she thought was awesome. They have some lemon and mint water that they make the wifie really liked also.

One of our favorite places to eat in Newark! I almost always get the Ruble Fries with beef or chicken, and my boyfriend gets the large gyro, cajun style. Delicious, made on the spot. Owner is super friendly and so is the rest of the staff.

I've came here the last three years when I'm in town! This place has thee best gyros in the state, the food, the sides, everything is made to perfection! The owner and the employees are always friendly, and welcoming! The restaurant is always clean, the bathrooms are spotless, and the tables are quickly wiped down! I absolutely love this place! If I could give it 10 stars, it still wouldn't be enough!

Just got one of their dumpster gyros and OMG! Best gyro I've ever had huge portions amazing taste the only thing that would make it better is serving it with a bib lol kinda messy to eat but the best food always is highly recommend trying it. Their baklava is just as amazing and for the price you get a good amount.

Never been here before food was great Greek salad was amazing never had a gyro before loved all the flavors and then to top it all off the baklava cheesecake was to die for I wish I could buy a whole cake not just a slice. Please make buying a whole one possible.

First time I have every tried Skorpios. May I say AMAZING! We tried several things. The grape leaves were delicious, he recommended to dip them in hot sauce 👍great suggestion. Then we had the roasted eggplant 🍆 now I was skeptical but we wolfed it down so fast, and still had some left over. The worst part was we ate so much of the other food, we had to take our delicious gyros home, after a few tasty bites lol I know terrible right? Still awaiting to try the baklava, because I am so full now, but i am sure it will be a great highlight on our meal. Also thank you for all your recommendations, the owner is a great guy and really helps make this a great experience.
