Always delicious with down home friendly flavor and service. Loved the pancake, hung over the edge of my plate! Barely needs syrup it's so flavorful. An iconic stop along that stretch of Hwy 83 south of Hartford.

Came in by myself for an early breakfast, sat at the bar and ordered a coffee, two eggs, hashbrown and bacon along with a pancake on the side. Everything came out really fast, and the pancake with the crispy edges flapping over the side of the plate was amazing. The prices were very reasonable as well . Will be back again.

Absolutely one of our new breakfast places anywhere in the state. The staff as well as the food are both over the top. Prices are also very wallet friendly. We would highly recommend you try it out! Went today to try the lunch portion of the menu and we were not disappointed! WOW, lunch is just as delicious as breakfast. So basically you can stop any time they are open and yiu will enjoy a delicious meal and outstanding service!!! Please do yourself a favor and stop in!!!!! You must try the biscuits and gravy. A much lighter and still as tasty version!!!

This is my all-time favorite breakfast and burger place. It is like something from the past emerging out of the mist of time. Wonderful informal atmosphere. Low prices. Friendly efficient and attentive service. A place where local people come to chat with each other and with the staff, which consists of the owner, her family, and one or two others who expertly work the grill behind the counter. The burgers are amazing. Just the right amount of fresh beef on a delicious grilled soft bun. When I ordered a burger with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, fried onions, and bacon, more of the extras fell out as I was eating it than the whole amount that comes with most burgers. When I came back a couple of days later for an egg burger, the sunny side up egg I asked for was perfectly done. The chicken noodle soup was also excellent. I only wish I didn't live 2,000 miles away from the place. I will miss it.

If you're ever in the area and you want a great breakfast at very reasonable prices, stop at Penny's. Fridays are 1/2 price pancake day, they're huge, cooked perfectly and delicious. Like many have mentioned, the staff is very friendly, Penny stopped by our table and chatted for a few minutes, a very sweet lady. Keep your eyes open or you might drive right past it thinking it's just a Motel. Stop in, you won't be disappointed. Cash only.

My wife Googled diners near me and Penny's Erin came up. We said why not. Glad we did the food was great. So was the owner her daughter who cooked and her granddaughter. We recommend going and having a bite to eat. Will have to try the pancakes next time!!

Now here's a family run restaurant that has great home cooking. Don't let the exterior fool you. Great prices.
I was a little disappointed today, I went in and waitress ask me to move to a smaller table because the table I went to was for 6.
Well low and behold a big party never came in, the backroom was almost empty.
It really didn't matter as I was only with 3, one person didn't show.
But really ask a customer to move because a bigger party might come in...
That waitress is not the friendliness person either. But still go there. Everything else is great

Stopped in Friday morning for the first time with a friend. We each had the pancakes and sausage patties. Very good service, fast and friendly. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

We love to go on Friday's for half price pancake day. Their prices are the best in the area. It's an older style diner. The staff is friendly. Some of their dishes are served family style. Plus they have some of the better tasting coffee. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Our new favorite breakfast joint.

Great food and fast service coffee cup is allways full. We talk with the cook as she works .Shes has some good storys to tell. Pennys is our go to Restaurant . Sat.or sun .fills up fast so dont procrastinate !!!! Sitll good .

Omg a diamond in the rough.If you haven't eaten here yet your missing out on some awesome home cooking.They will tell us they love to use real butter. Omg,the breakfast are the best.They make pancakes that are old fashion and to die for.Friday's you get 1 big pancake for 1.50 .Penney the owner is so sweet and her daughter the cook is a blast.Its all family running this hotspot.nicest people around.you will be back for more.Guaranteed. we love this cute place so much.

Don't overlook this small, unassuming restaurant as you drive by and see the lodging. The small team work seamlessly together to make a great experience with *fantastic* food for breakfast or lunch. These ladies are amazing, remembering customers, details about their lives, and even knowing who you are if you call for takeout simply from the order if you are a creature of habit. Sadly, they don't serve dinner (they close a 2PM). Also, make sure to have cash as they do not accept credit. But should you forget, they do have an ATM on site.

We found out after placing our order for breakfast that they don't accept credit cards. They were incredibly understanding. They let us eat our delicious omelets and said " next time you're out this way, you can stop in and pay us". The owner herself came by and was so genuine. She even gave us some homemade cookies for the road. We made our waxy to the nearest ATM after eating and headed back to pay. Needless to say, yep, we will definitely be back!

This is by far one of the most delicious and friendliest local places. The people who work there are kind and the food is out of this world! Love the Omelettes & French Toast.

Well worth the scenic drive on an autumn Saturday morning. We both got a little of everything and it was delicious! We will be back.

We have been coming here for breakfast for years. It is so charming and fabulous. You know your breakfast will always be perfect snd the staff is so nice.
