Scratch Steakhouse And Lounge

The food never disappoints. Every time I go, I enjoy every last bite. The owner makes it a point to speak to his customers and make sure they are pleased. The waitress are super friendly and informative about daily specials and deserts. They look after you very well. But most importantly, THE FOOD IS AMONG THE BEST I've ever had at any other restaurant.

We called ahead and made reservations for a Friday night at 7:00. Our waitress was friendly and checked in often. The soup, steak, and sides (potato bombs, mac n cheese, sweet potato and smokey gratin potatoes) were perfectly cooked and delicious! The only downfall was that we ended up sitting right in front of the kitchen door and it was constantly swinging open towards us. We will be back!

This is legitimately the best steak you can get anywhere in this area and beyond. I have eaten steak at Hyde Park in Cleveland, Del Frisco"s in New York City, Prime in Vegas and the quality of meal I got here was right in line. The only thing different is to get a small town feel here. It was more personable than the big name places, and the service was top notch. Desmond, the owner was a great man and would personally visit the table in between working the kitchen. I was here for a business meeting and all 4 of us were thoroughly impressed. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Thank you Desmond and staff! We cannot wait to come back!

Went here with a large group. The service was great and the food was pretty good. I see they have new menus since we were here last. I wouldn't suggest the mac&cheese, but the chicken, fish, and everything else were all really good. We all really liked the chili. And the water tastes good, which isn't the case for a lot of places. Glad to see a business thriving in Louisville that isn't fats-food.

Not your mother's cooking. Everything is familiar but offers a uniqueness that's hard to find. All of our food was excellent but I would caution the "anti-texture" people. We had tomato basil soup and it was delicious but not "smooth" like you would expect. Even the sandwich bread was seeded which I loved but I know that would freak out some people. The flavor of everything was off the charts amazing.

The atmosphere was nice as well. Mix of tables, booths, and bar seating. We arrived just as they were opening the doors but we would be comfortable here for casual lunch or a romantic dinner. The decor is beautiful as well. The staff was friendly but still green. Nothing some practice won't fix. Overall we had a great experience and will be returning again soon.

If I could give this restaurant more stars I certainly would do so.

Waitress Gillian was wonderful. She had great energy, a big smile and did a great job in every aspect of service.
The owner, Damon (spelling?) came around to each table to greet us and ask about our experience. He was sincere and seemed to genuinely appreciate each guest.
The pork chop dinner was so good I can’t even describe the perfection! The asparagus was by far the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant!
Hubby had the filet dinner and again just loved every bite.
Oh and the cheesecake, mmmmmmm, wow!
We asked Chef Mike to come out so we could let him know how much we love his cooking.

I saw Demond's vision years ago and I'm so glad to experience the reality! First, it was Valentine's weekend and they were very busy. The Staff was great, even with the pressure. The ambiance in the back is meant for couples and loved ones. And now the food, I had the Steak Oscar and my wife had the Bone-In Ribeye. This is where you go to get it done RIGHT! The flavor was unbelievable and the quality is top notch. Even the appetizers blew us away. Personally these steaks are fighting RED's Steakhouse, Cleveland, Ohio and Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

I ordered a steak "Pittsburg medium". They got it perfect. Chard on the outside and hot pink in the middle. I ended up taking home the salad to my wife. She graded it an "A". Drinks were great, staff great.

The smells are absolutely astounding when driving by, the food does not disappoint in any way either. The price is what I expect for similiar quality fare. You will not regret the deserts either. Met the owner who has a great sense of humor and attitude. Can't wait to go backñ

My experience was awesome for a first visit. My food was exceptional prepared and tasted amazing. Our waitress was attentive and addressed all of our concerns. Several workers made sure we were ok. I definitely would recommend. And definitely will be back in the future. Thanks for making our first experience a awesome one!!!!!!

The food at Scratch Steakhouse is nothing short of amazing!!! I’ve been here several times and their steaks are so flavorful, delicious, juicy, and cooked to perfection. I went tonight and got the champagne chicken dish w/ amazing champagne cream sauce, grilled chicken, mushrooms, and shrimp on top. One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Their service is also very attentive and friendly! Thank you Scratch Steakhouse!

They offer dry aged steaks here! Great menu full of diverse options. Great staff and an owner who really cares about his customers. That's what you'll find at Scratch Steakhouse!

I cannot say enough about this place the owner is the most gracious kind man he greets you as a friend food is great fair price...just watch the menu price an what your bill is wont match by few bucks...amazing steaks,the best caesar dressing i ever had an my new dave shrimp on a burger...luv the unique side choices

The food was really delicious. Perfect sear and robust beef flavor on my filet. The potato bombs were aptly named. My husband loved his steak with a peppercorn sauce, spicy Mac and cheese. My cocktail was a peach sangria and it was strong and delicious/fresh tasting. Our waitress Tiana* was welcoming, warm, and just a pleasure to talk to. I didn’t catch the kitchen manager’s name but he came out to ask us about our food twice, and he was also very kind and nice. The music and the vibe was very chill, great jazzy music and a homey feeling. They have specials Monday night- definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!

I didn’t like the pretzel bread sauce, and the hollandaise was a good sauce but not as creamy as I’d have liked. Overall still a wonderful experience.

Quaint, adorable, historic little restaurant in downtown Louisville with super friendly staff and crazy delicious food. You can tell everything is prepared super fresh and the portions are huge. Would HIGHLY recommend and we will definitely be back!!

I love this place! I have been here several times and haven’t had a bad meal. My favorite thing on the menu is the tuna nachos….DELICIOUS! Some other favorites are the the champagne chicken & shrimp, the scratch pasta, and the jambalaya. The drinks are fantastic as well. 10/10

More upscale dining... The chef is amazing!!

We went to dinner on a Thursday evening, we were seated right away, our server was prompt and attentive, with good suggestions. The food, the food, the food was OUTSTANDING! The chef/owner came by to check on our meals, great guy, who knows how to take meals to the next level. I highly recommend Scratch.

I absolutely LOVE Scratch Steakhouse. I ALWAYS have excellent food and service, whether I dine in or get carryout. Well last night I ordered carryout and had the BEST Prime Rib ever. It was cooked perfectly and literally melted in my mouth. My dog 🐕 even gave it a 5 star rating.
