Like a smaller Old World Wisconsin! Awesome place for hands-on history and learning. Buildings and techniques of days almost gone. They have events here at certain times of the year. My kids enjoy themselves.

My experience was very educational. The volunteers were knowledgeable about our heritage and life during the early 1920's. I saw blacksmiths at work and watched the sap drip from maple trees into blue plastic bags. I will visit again next Spring!

This is a great natural area with many positive attributes. When you initially enter the park you really can't see much of it from the road, but once you get in to the parking area you have a wide open grassy area with a shelter if you would like to host a gathering of some sort.

There are a number of paths through the woods, and if you explore a bit you will find a few benches around the area where you can sit and just enjoy the sights and sounds of nature for a while.

There is a brook that meanders its way through the property. On the day I visited a turtle was hanging out on the grass a few feet from the water sunning itself.

There are numerous historical and newer built buildings throughout the property. From the signs it appears that they are currently trying to raise money to fund a real working blacksmith.

If you are looking for a quiet natural place to relax or take a walk, this is definitely a solid option. It's also a great option for pictures.

This has always been a special place to me.
My grandmother was born here on the farm, as well as my aunt and uncles. I love what the historical society has done to bring back
the feelings I remember, coming here as a child.
